A blue belt PSA to help you be more competitive in training
I have never seen this before. Been in the game since 96. Nice. Love it.
Thank you. Great.
Dude. In a world of jiujitsu instruction made for skinny lanky or small people I love this channel. Thank you. Fellow big guy here. Been looking for big guy content for a long time. Thank you. Liked. Subscribed.
Facts. Thank you.
Finally content for big jiujitsu guys.
Thats my brother Big Sam
What is this from lol
As a big 250 pound Brown belt I recommend to all big guys play off your backs more when rolling with smaller guys. Let lower belts start in dominate positions. Build your skills and confidence so when you do roll eith another big guy you aren't scared of getting smashed. Also let the smaller guys move around to help you build your scrambling skills. If you do these things smaller guys won't really avoid you.
As I was about to comment and compliment your teaching/technique, I realized that I commented here 3yrs ago. It’s really cool to accidentally revisit a technique/topic 3yrs later and be more excited about applying it. 🤙🏾
Glad I found a channel dedicated to some big boy content. Love it.
OSS Dope!! lol
Good suffer. Respect.
I’m dangerous.
good stuff, might pass on that whole "put it in your mouth" bit though 🤢
😂 OSS
As a fellow member of the jelly club, love the content. Thanks for always sticking up for the big brothas out there 🫡

I hate fat people that are 100 pounds heavier than me and just wet blanket
How long does it normally take to get your first stripe?
Id say 6 months
6 to 9 months. It depends on how fast you can retain what is being taught.
@@nisbenyricardo533 , Thanks for the reply.
@@ossnationbjj9920 , Thank you.
That is the definition of endurance
Dang.
That's quite a care package!
I've accepted my role as a mini boss in class. I'm used to people ducking me in class most of the time. It's actually more exhausting trying not to stay in full mount most of the time. Scrambling with the tinier wrestlers has got me in some good shape. I've got to start letting myself get in bad positions or in submissions and fight out of them.
"Don't pull guard. That's for girls." My man.
As a big guy doing BJJ, what Gi do you prefer? The one my gym gave me is tight around the thighs and shoulders.
Hey love your content. Do you have any recommendations for Rashguards for big guys. I train no gi and have a hard time finding a rashgaurd that doesn’t make me look like a fat guy in a little coat. A video on this would be awesome as weel
I have been trying this for months. I am getting it but guys are saying it’s a neck crank and not allowed in some tournaments?
This doesnt work im a purple belt, did it to a white belt. He based and i just slipped off.
It works you probably didn’t grip lapel tight enough

What other/second place guard would you recommend for guys who strongly dislike lasso?
Matt, can you go to a sweep from that lasso, spider position rather than the ankle pick? Love these lasso vids for big fellas. 6'3 290 here
Been watching this video all day, and repped #1 and #3 for an hour at lunch on the grappling dummy. Fingers crossed I get the opportunity to pull it off for real in class tonight😂!
Hope you liked them thanks for the feedback
@@ossnationbjj9920 quick update....took me a couple of weeks, but I was able to hit the first move in class over the weekend👍
Goddamn, why can’t I think of the dudes name that’s talking?!
CT Fletcher haha 👍🏻
💃 🕺 Sorry 🎥 🍿🍔 🥲🥹😭
Turn the music off, got a sub.
I’m not bigger than the gym or my team everybody was rolling sorry for the background
I’m 53 , just got my 1st stripe, 😢 so emotional about it, like, I’m not toilet water anymore, really hit home lol.
Congrats bro keep battling
Love it
This is the good shit
This is the most underrated bjj channel on YT.
Thanks brotha I appreciate it
So cool , big guy bjj advice
Great advice. I'd add one thing. Don't always smash the little guy if you know you can smash them. Pick one thing you want to work on and only go for that. It makes you better and gives them a chance to work.
No, they aren't lol
im not big at all but i always pick the big guys im happy to feel that pressure because everyone on the street aint gonna be ur size and u gotta learn how to deal with it best u can
💯
Useful video, but the music definitely made it hard to hear.
I’m a purple belt. I got my purple belt about 8 months ago. I’m 43, 5’5”, 170lb I’m definitely dangerous. I get way more subs than get subbed. I tell people that fighting people is my office. I don’t like to work outside of the office.
Nah, In reality, a white belt with a few weeks training is more dangerous, especially if they tend to spaz out while rolling. A purple belt has more control and is safer to roll with.
If you’re going to be afraid of the guy you were on your first day of training why even sign up for jiujitsu lol
@@ossnationbjj9920 when you've had multiple injuries to joints and back, you too would be wary of the rough housing newbie who probably applied a lot of pro wrestling moves on his brother in front of the living room TV during his childhood days.
If we're talking sports event, then they are a little concerning. In war or on the street, they're easily beatable if you know FMA or Small Circle. JuJitsu is WAY overrated due to the Gracie retards who helped make the rules for UFC.
Its all fun and games until the 230lb purple belt cross faces you with his shin from top mount 😂😭😭😭
@@aaronwilbur9774hey, it’s me, the 200+lb purple belt with the cross face of justice, as I call it. 😅
I think I’m about to get my first white stripe I joined a jiu jitsu no gi comp on a whim and got gold 😎
“No one wants that smoke because no one wants to get smashed” Sir, I’m 140 pounds and in shape.. I don’t want the rounds because I don’t want some fatty laying on me for 2 min just to put in effort for the past 30 seconds using pure strength and force with little technique to submit me. Then they get up and truly are proud of themselves. SMH.
I do try and fall on the sword with the big guys and find them pretty good rolls. bit slower, I can handle the pressure, without the mad speed of the smaller guys.
Oh shit that little detail mind blown 🤯 thx coach 🎉
I like that Im in a group called The bigs
