These are great bikes, I have a 2000, stock exhaust with the K&Ns drop in filters, rejetted carbs to 125 and 135, bike flies, I love the bigger fatter front tires, you feel more grounded on the bike in my view, smooth lightweight and easy to handle
Hi. I have Marauder 800, 1998. I want to put only slip on exhausts, air filters will be stock. Is it necessary to change jets on carbs? Do you have any advice what jets to buy and from where? (Im from Europe). Thank you.
with the slip ons you may be just fine, my advice is not to change anything and run the bike to see how it both cruises and handles wide open throtlle runs, then you can asjust from there@@ARMYmanSvK
@@thedaydreamer7972 imma asking because now I have stock filters and stock exhaust and when I acceleratre motorbike goes fine, then in the middle of the rpms it is like "turbo lag" if you know what I mean. It is like the bike stops accelerating for a few sec and in higher rpms it goes normally again and accelerates nicely. So I have fear if I put slip on what it will be.
Have you gotten the carbs off and given them a full cleaning? Have you inpsected the air box and filter to make sure no debris? Has anyone else messed with this bike beofre you and changed jets or anything like that? I would start with the first 2 things @@ARMYmanSvK
I myself just received the exact same bike last week color and all (except no front fender or sissy bar nor leather tank strap) it even came with a sweet Cobra exhaust! Runs like a swiss watch with attitude. Comfy ride too you should keep it...lol. Nice vid bro thank you for posting.
Awesome Michael! I'm happy to hear you're enjoying your new bike. I think Marauder's are really good looking bikes. And the great thing is you can find them for great prices and still quite a bit of accessories online. Keep the tire side down brother... thanks for the comment!
hey man ! you still got that Marauder? i just resurected mine ! 1997. i fabricated a belt drive for it in 2012 and drove it 5500 miles till 2017 .it developed a tank rust hole after a previous repair 9 years earlier. i bought it new in 97 and have beaten the hell out of it .it still wants more the belt drive uses the s40 drive pulleys and an industrial sycronus timing belt rated for a 400 hp electric industrial motor. took some fab work but it's beautiful. i wish i could post a puck of it somewhere .i don't do computers as well as a welder and tool box. it has more torque with belt than chain and 0 maintenance. i wore out 7 chain and sprockets before i decided to do it. buitl my own forward controls and seat and 33 " bars . it fits me perfect now and im fixing tank now but driving it w lawn mower tank straped to the side! ha! it's not like i havn't been riding . my otj.g er bike is a 1995 vn 800 A . kawasaki Vulcan. it's not stock but the Marauder will run circles around the vulcan .love both .it's cool to have choices. ive owned 12 bikes in 43 years . these are my favorites .
I own a Suzuki Marauder vz 800 motorcycle, year 1998, 25,000 km. When I drive at 120 km/h, the coolant light comes on. Can you help me, what do you think the problem is?
i run 93 oct with high milage. non ethanol is nice but honestly , if you ride and use up the fuel and it doesn't sitt for a while , reg fuel wont hurt anything. my Marauder had 80k + and i never used non eth. i bought bike new 23 years ago. the carbs are 100% original parts and NO problems . runs awesome. remove pair valve correctly and open air box a bit and they run good stock. if you jet it like i did , you must match air box and exhaust to compensate and it pulls wheelies now. monster.
I apologize, I actually sold this bike last year. I always take bigger jobs to a local mechanic. I'm afraid I cannot be of any help to you, but good luck!
jack bike up or put on blocks. loosen all split clamp bolts on lower tripple tree. do not loosen top ones. also loosen but don' remove the fender bolts on lower section of fork. this allows the two sides to move freely back to correct position with no resistance. use an adjustable strap to stabilize the handlebars in the straight ahead position. this part i do by eye but i use a framing square to align the wheel square to handlebars. i b0ught my Marauder brand new in 97. i won't sell it. ever. it is a little beast with the mods ive done. one of the last good carburated bikes you can buy cheap. this one has about 80k .not sure cause i drove it for yearz w no speedo cable. belt drive was the best thing i ever did to it. no maintenance. keep the shiny side up! then gently tighten clamp bolts and check that it is still in line. it's very easy and quik. this missalingnment occurs when a uneven surface is struck when in a leaning turn.

Hi I need to that bike
the largest mistake harley ever made, was give the japanese a reason to build harley clones, better than harley can build the originals.
