- The 29th March 2003 saw the last day of service of class 312 trains on C2C's service between Fenchurch St and Shoeburyness. This video is a hastily hacked down version of a longer video I made in 2003 that originally featured some unlicensed music.
Good old Allen on the PA at Fenchurch Street, and he is still there! (Without an MBE)

Journeys? I have good memories of the class 312 trains especially in the early 1990s when I went on a school trip to Chalkwell in Essex from Barking. I have visited Fenchurch Street station in the past and it is a decent station located actually in the City of London.

Heyyyyyy! I remember these! As with all trains in the 2000-2005 era these old units were falling apart at the seams! I only rode on them once when i was little. Is there still one kept at Coventry Rail Museum right?

anyone that can name and remember the diver that dived this lost 312 slam door train and fully remembers him on the 29 03 2oo3 who was with alen will indeed get an reward i give you all a glue he was rewarded by the qureen an mbe for his gaert work you get a reward will go out to anyone that stil remembers him and hes gaert name but no body can remember or evern know his name being as you all had so well and turly well forgotton all about him in your julasy

These units were pretty fast even by modern standards. One was diagrammed to depart Kings Cross on the down fast around 3 minutes behind the Tees Tyne Pullman which was a HST. Quite often it would catch the HST up on a double yellow until the line speed hit 105 and the HST would leave it.
