Good video, do I spy a Mark 1 buffet car right at the end there??? Much better than those cheapjack conversions of a Mark 3 standard class coach we have now...
A very interesting video showing some interesting trains from the past :) Did the Harwich Town services continue to Liverpool St back then (1997) or not?
the memories of those 86s and 312s :(
Was a panasonic VHSc standard camcorder not SVHS but I captured the footage direct off the original tape to PC. I was 17 when I took the film
Nice vid! But the motive power for the InterCity sets were 86s.
If I remember my special wagons correctly the wagon with the transformer is a flatrol the lomac is the one with the slopeing ends.
it was 86s and dbsos not 87s hence on the rear 86232 and 86238 on a through train
It’s actually the 86 electric locomotives that are in use in this clip not the 87s Darren

Nice footage. Prefer the old 312's to the new desiro units any day.
What on earth is that man doing he’s not supposed to be on the track
Harwich Town now looks really nice, it's been tarted up and all the buildings are used as offices.
