Hi Dale thanks for sharing your duty with us, quite a duty! Never seen an emergency stop before so was interesting to see that. Don’t apologise for your announcements to us, idiots need to be told, as I always say “firm but fair”, looking forward to the next one😊❤
Oh dear me Dale, SO much to comment on! A very different vid this time, please don't ever stop the rabbiting, it's what makes it all so enjoyable, as well as everything else of course. l was suffering all the way with you needing the loo, no wonder you got a bit shirty with the passengers standing in the doors, but they deserved it! do let us know next time how soon you got to the loo! Thanks for sticking with us to the bitter end!
Speaking of track speeds and speed restrictions , I've found that most car drivers think of slowing down until the speed sign , me included , for a train driver the speed limit means you're doing that speed from the speed sign or less , as you say , you drive to your route .
I have watched many driver POV but this video is a game changer. All the different things you experienced on this trip were verbally explained, missing from other channels. Excellent work, thank you for sharing your driver experience.
What a very respectful thing to do, hats off to you Dale. You were so quick in responding! I went back and watched it a few times and it was nano-seconds between getting the call and hitting the emergency brakes. Not all hero's wear capes, some drive the London Underground.
Hi Dale. Thanks once more for an excellent video. You dealt with your challenges very well. I can understand your frustration at some of the idiots standing in the doorways, but you were very direct and professional with them, certainly better than I would have been, that's for sure! Well done!
Ive just sat and had this on the back ground while gaming. I have a few things to say. As a passenger on bussy busses for close to 10 years, i don't think of a bus or traindriver as rude for calling out passengers blocking the doors. As long as its not someone who's getting on or off though a crowd of people. But some jerks see there are no seats left so just lean agains the doors and then wont let them open or stuff like that. They might not want to go to school or work but if I'm late i might miss my midterm test that day or miss my connection to go on a work experience day. Ive seen drivers throw people out and for good reasons. And you have (in my humble opinion) handled yourself very well. Keeping passengers informed repeatedly, etc...
Hello Dale, I've watched all your excellent videos, never apologise for calling out self centred people who ignore safety of all. You are a credit to London Underground. A genuinely nice bloke who shares knowledge, wisdom and funniness Cheers Dale Best wishes from James and Alexandra.

You mentioned the tunnel telephone wires. There were 2 systems back in the day. The handset which you rightly say was carried by the drivers ( issued tested and signed for at the start of any duty that bought a train out of depot) This unit discharged traction current when clipped into the TT wires. There was also DRICO, which was built into the cabs which utilised the same wire but did not discharge traction current. Certain trips had a timetabled stop in the tunnel for the driver to carry out a DRICO test. I’m guessing that the D stock were the last to be equipped with this even though train radio was more or less rolled out my the time I was a District Guard in early 84. Just a bit of trivia.
