You have to be one of Britain's best ambassadors!! This time, you presented how much you can see and learn on a limited budget. I love how you can just step into the shoes of an average Joe and be comfortable, no matter where you go! Kudos!
about megabus-you even can have it free if you have tescocard and convert your vouchers to tikckets.I`m in Scotland, near Glasgow and had few journeys in past going from Glasgow to London overnight and me and my daughter had return tickets for free
Hi There Iwan! that was an interesting insight into hostels! and a great price, if you just want a cheap night away traveling across the UK it's brilliant and great experince, especially if you are young. Not sure my cup of tea at 65 but interesting to see what is avaialable out there, and would have been okay in my youth I daresay. You learn something new every day watching your Vlogs! thank you x
Great value trip, I like the idea of just jumping on a coach somewhere, to see something different. Lots to see there in Bristol it seems. Would be good to see some other affordable getaways. Thanks 👍
My son went to New York and stayed in a YMCA and he thought it was really good. He found being on his own he made friends easily. He also went to Croatia and did the same thing. He's in his 40s so not a teenager. Loved your vlog again. Xx
Have to agree with Helen..you are a great ambassador for Britain mr C ..thankyou for taking us on this lovely journey...hope you purchased a crystal..look forward to the next one.🥰
A very nice video. You'd make an excellent travel presenter. I feel like I'm watching a modern version of Wish You Were Here. Glad you packed earplugs and eye mask. I always take some with me when I travel. The return tickets are so cheap. I do like the YHA chain. They're lovely and cosy, excellent value for money too. I am amazed at how cheap your night away was.
10:53 if you kept going up, on the downs above the suspension bridge is the camera obscura and a passageway that brings you onto a platform on the side of the Avon gorge. Never mind you found it 😂
Really enjoyed this felt I was walking there with you, what a lovely city. My husband and I used to love doing city breaks and had a weekend away every month when the kids had flown the nest, not so much now. Keep up the good work always enjoyable, thank you.
Awww Mr C, you’re in my hometown 😍 I’ve been a Londoner for almost 30 years but Bristol will always be special to me. We still have our childhood house that I stay in when I visit, would love to have you staying there as a special guest. Next time x
ahhh memories of the MShed, SS Great Britain, lots of places around Bristol :) Kids used to go there every holidays, to visit nanny and grandad when little :) not changed at all xx
I lived in Bristol in the 60's as a child before moving to Weston-super-Mare. After leaving school I worked in the centre of Bristol at what is now a Holiday Inn, but was then the TV Licence Records Office. Even in those days (1979) the docks were still fully working as docks. I used to pass the SS Great Britain twice a day on the bus. In those days it was just starting its restoration journey. Have been back fairly recently, and will be going again in September where I shall be able to see Concorde.
Bristol is good choice Mr C. Lots to see and do. I live in Exeter and have family who live in Bristol. I visit often and love it. They also do the same thing with me in Exeter. We haven't got a big suspension bridge over the Exe, but we do have a little walking bridge...locally we call it the wobbly bridge as legs really do feel wobbly. 😅
This was great. I really enjoyed seeing that you can have a small getaway/ field trip inexpensively. I'd love to see a similar one of these in the Autumn.
Lovely to see you visiting Bristol, I live in Cheddar not far from there, near Cheddar Gorge. You may like to visit there one day. Do enjoy your videos. Look forward to them.
Amazing price. I love Bristol, it's feels creative, open minded and vibrant. The street art is a good free option too😊 we went to Stokes Croft which is an interesting place with a bohemian vibe lots of interesting eateries, community bakery etc. Thanks really enjoyed this x
How fun! I knew it was Bristol from the photo 😊. My dad’s family are from there and I just visited myself last month. Great place. Love the idea for the video. Keep them coming!
Hi Mr Carrington, How are you keeping? I hope that you are well and enjoying your summer. I have been watching your blogs for a few years now and never popped bye to say hallo. Please excuse my manners lol. I love your blogs they are so professional and it comes to you with ease. Please keep up the good work. Take care and if ok will pop on and say hi again soon. xx
What a great vlog n good idea visiting different parts of the country on a budget. Come to Newcastle/Gateshead sometime, (although it’s quite a way from London) we do have beautiful beaches and countryside in Northumberland
Evening Mr Carrington, really enjoyed your travel vlog around Bristol, wow that was a cheap and great price. Looks really lovely around, thanks for sharing,👍
I’m glad you enjoyed visiting my home town. Having been down there, I can confirm that the giant’s cave must have been used by the smallest giant ever lol
Thought this was BRILLIANT! Perfect solution to a budget holiday without the budget! The bus is great value, the hostel fine ( if you had a family or friends with you! ) Lovely Bristol! Who knew! Nice work Mr.Carrington! 👍
I have stayed in a YHA hostel at The Eden Project. In the family option you get a double bed and two bunks plus on suit shower room. One of the best places I've ever stayed. Thanks for this video; I love all your travel vlogs 👍
The SS Great Britain is really interesting to look around.. My nephew lives in Bristol.. It’s like a smaller London. Lots of live bands in the evening. We’ve been to the Theatre a few times too..I need to go visit Mshed next time I go.. Very informative video.. Hope you, your partner & friends had a great time.. thank you..😊❤
😮😮 That's almost back to the days Greyhound Buses did a £1 ticket from Portsmouth to London but that was 15 years ago. You got a great deal on the Megabus.
You really are brilliant taking us on these trips with such info too, Bristol was lovely, Horrible news after you left, good job you weren’t their 😮definitely going to take a trip not so sure staying in that hostel tho, bit too old for bunks 😂❤
Nice blog, thanks👍 Bristol is a great place to visit. I took my students to the same hostel in 2018 and we had a good time. The suspension bridge is really majestic with stunning views.
My daughter has just come home to Bham, after being in Bristol for 3 yrs at university. Lovely place. Love the bright coloured shops/houses. The graffiti art on buildings, and the quaint little shops.😊
I really enjoyed this look around Bristol, it looks such a nice city. I know one of my sons used the Megabus once when doing a long journey, such good value. Thanks for taking us along with you x
Very informative Mr lovely teeth. I think someone will be wanting you to go on a travel show. So professional. That stint on the TV has been a huge asset 👍🥰
Such a lovely vlog Iwan. I’ve used Mega bus here in the states when traveling to visit my family. This was when my knee was so bad, prior to knee replacement. I just couldn’t do the drive. So it was convenient and inexpensive to visit my family. It’s about a six hour drive. Most times I paid under $4- usually $2. If I reserved a seat an extra $1. The buses weren’t always the most comfortable, however, I would say for the money I didn’t mind! I really enjoyed this format of doing inexpensive local trips. Well done! Enjoy your Wednesday Donna
Wow really enjoyed this vlog, I didn’t know such cheap travel existed! Bristol looked lovely but my stomach did turn when you walked that bridge! Very brave of you! 😬
Mr C, what a cheerful vlog and what a bargain. Nobody can complain that all of your holidays are expensive. Bristol, haven't been there since I visited the BBC for my interview, the start of a life time career......it's changed fabulous 😍
Happy Wednesday Mr C! Wow!! I can't get over the price. You're so good at booking these getaways. Handy to have a partner and friends willing to take the leap with you 😃oh and I noticed the 🇨🇦 on the ship in the harbour 🥰
Thank you for looking round Bristol I live in bristol, and many a time we been in the m shed with my family also on the ss great Britain I hope you have had a lovely time love your video s
Looks like a fun little break. We used Megabus about 12 years ago to go to New York City (6 hours away) and it was great, the price was way cheaper than what it would have cost us to pay tolls and try and park. The only part we didn't like was where we had to catch the bus out of NYC, it was in the early days and they really hadn't come up with a great system just yet.
What an interesting town Mr C. great that one can still travel on a budget and with good Company it is still fun😊 Wallace and Grommit is such a favourite show
Really interesting vlog ! Bristol looks fab too . Looks like you had a good time and what fantastic value ! Often wondered who takes care of Pumpkin and Mittens when you are away on holiday or filming SYLO 🤔. X
I found your tour around Bristol really interesting as my son has lived there approx 10 years. He was originally living in Wellington, Somerset for about 10 years before that. I haven't seen Bristol yet, but it is on my bucket list to get there before I am too old to travel long distances (from NZ)
What a brilliant Vlog of Bristol... Looks beautiful and cannot believe i havent visited it yet and very near me, Now on the list of days out thank you 🙂
You have to be one of Britain's best ambassadors!! This time, you presented how much you can see and learn on a limited budget. I love how you can just step into the shoes of an average Joe and be comfortable, no matter where you go! Kudos!
