I think his reactions are far better than the crashes. But then again I've had BeamNG for 6 years so. I've seen lots and lots of crashes, what I like to see is a real driver who has some talent trying to push it, and Jimmy does a great job.
General rule: Public freeroam servers with no gamemode are carnage. Private servers are the goto. Serious racing, derby and all the other fun stuff without all the crashing is right there
There's quite a few Open Track Day lobbies that are very good, and rarely do you get a troll. And when you do, you can just delete their vehicle from your world, so they don't exist as far as your client is concerned, even if they're still in the server.
Bought this for $25 yesterday!… played it for the first time. Dabbled around, tried free roam, installed mods, did some challenges…. Started a career mode. Like wtf, I can’t believe how fun this game is!!! My Sim wheel going to be working overtime on this game
Jimmer and BeamNG multiplayer - an absolute match made in heaven. This could only be improved with the inclusion of the following words: "HELLOOOOO, and welcome... TO THE SHOW!!"
That F4 race reminded me of the original Race Driver Grid from 2008. People may not remember it - or weren't born yet - but the damage model blows most modern games out the water.
Wholeheartedly agreed! I also mention (the original) GRID in any discussion where the myth is brought up that a particular racing game doesn't have good damage model because it would angry the manufacturers; since GRID featured a healthy roster of licensed vehicles which all could be demolished into unrecognition. Heck we can go way back to "Viper Racing" from 10 years earlier than GRID and that featured a crazy awesome soft body deformation engine for 1998 (Chrysler/Dodge endorsed) The horn ball cheat was classic and the the first time I saw car damage that extensive.
Codemasters games had really good damage modelling back then. The original Dirt game had excellent damage modelling that has been progressively scaled back with each iteration in the series.
@@michaelsteffensen6844 Yes indeed. Codemasters/Invictus were top notch back in the day. I think their best damage models were the original "1nsane" and "Street Legal Racing: Redline" (I consider BeamNG to be the spiritual successor of both)
Oh man, you have no idea how much I wish I could introduce you to the best that BeamMP has to offer, and show you just how far BeamNG has come, especially when vehicles are tuned properly. This game for me as a whole went from being a lot of fun in single player, to being my favorite multiplayer experience in gaming period. Where this game peaks is modded servers that add in the stuff that's missing, specifically drafting and tire wear/temperature physics. The Touge servers are also so genuinely incredible, and BeamNG's physics are perfect for Touge.
Pretty much. Once you get used the cars actually behaving like they should, when you go back to Assetto or iRacing or something, you notice all the little artificial handling elements that force certain cars to be slower/faster than others, or to understeer/oversteer more than they should, for "balance". Not to say all the other sims are bad, but BeamNG absolutely does spoil you.
BeamNG Drive is constantly improving. I remember when I first got it 6 years ago, and I've seen so many changes happen to it now. Now there is a key you can press so you can hop outside and walk around your own car and even get into another one, and they have folding mirrors and opening doors and hoods and trunk panels. It was always single player but now it's been modded into being multiplayer and it just keeps getting better. I can be honest and say it's definitely my favorite driving simulator of all time. I built a sim cockpit just for this program.
@@sierratango6574 I have the same experience as you, I remember playing it way back and it always has been a lot of fun. Today it still seems better and better with every update.
@@sierratango6574 BeamNG is indeed one of the best. Touge duel servers like in Assetto Corsa would be absolutely legendary, imagine sending it on narrow japanese mountain roads in the Piccolina chased by a demon van that can't turn but can accelerate from 0 to Mach Fuck in .5 seconds
I was getting bored with the game a while back and finally decided to download the mp mod. It instantly became my favorite game again. It's every racing game in one. Then you get you find random people and cruise around
are you able to host your own lobbies? if so, definitely would like to see a rally stage of some sort. also an oval race with some absurd cars. and maybe a street stage with baja trucks. the possibilities are endless!
It would be cool to have a mode, with say 16 players on a non-lap circuit (like a rally stage), where you launch each player one at a time, 15 seconds apart, simultaneously starting on either "end" of the course (forward/reverse). This way, players keep racing into each other, trying to reach the finish line. When you wreck, you restart. Fastest finishing time "wins".
In BeamMP, you can "TAB" through the different players, and delete their vehicles if you don't want them to crash into you. Great for removing trolls while trying to race in public lobbies. ^-^
