My car! Well that brought back memories. In 2007 I was at Uni, and had been modding RBR for a while and took on my biggest project yet. A friend of mine, David, was building a monster of a rally car. A fully tuned Volvo 240. He even had the entire build documented as a series of articles in a motor sport magazine, so the car was/is well-known in the real-world rally community around here. I designed the livery for that car. And at the same time, with full access to pictures from the garage, measurements of all the suspension components, and so on, I modeled the car for RBR with more detail than I had ever achieved before. The goal was complete realism, both in visuals and physics. It was very well received by the community. Not least by my friend David, who also gave detailed feedback of the in-game feel vs real life behavior of the car. The model has since been ported to various games by the modding community, many of which have very kindly asked permission to do so. The car Jimmer drives in this video is my model with my livery, but with completely different physics. What a blast down memory lane!
why does your name ring a bell.... Why do i feel like in somewhere far far in the past, I fucked with a mod of a 240 that had your name on it but it was in some other game.... everyone kept refering back to "robertS 240" but the files were nowhere to be found like ~5years later.... Its been like 10 years but this has weirdly sparked distant memory in me. This is a very weird feeling thank you.
Seeing SirFoch randomly in there after following him years ago when he did World of Tanks stuff was weird. Glad to see he's having a good time with sim racing
For the reasons so hilariously demonstrated in your video, it's absolutely worth downloading the Luppis pacenotes pack. The stock ones are dreadful! This looks like a fun rally, though, I might have to give it a go :)
I'm not blowing smoke up your arse, but I bought a Moza R16 from Abruzzi and had problems with it. The customer service was excellent and they solved all issues immediately. Other companies could learn... But they won't. Highly impressed!
The quickest way to get through a rally stage in a Volvo is usually just 'as the crow flies'. Likelihood of encountering something more solid than the car is low. Unless you run into another Volvo doing the same thing in which case I'm not sure what happens.
I can't catch many streams, but I came into this stream right about 22:57, only then to watch jimmer send it into a rock lmao! I don't know if I'm bad luck but it was fun to watch nonetheless!!!
jimmer really needs to get a good pace notes pack. They improve the experience a whole lot because the default notes are mixed bag where if you use a pack you always get the same style.
Damn! My had used to have that car when I was child! So much memories, I've liked Volvo since (even I don´t have lisence to drive). Good and funny video! I liked that.
This is me with awd rally cars. back when i sim raced i was really really good at driving rwd rally cars but couldnt for the life of me drive awd. To be fast in rwd rally especially on dirt you really need to hang the rear end out through the corners and especially the hair pins and the sharp rights. unlike with awd with rwd you wanna run a high steering degree like 800 to 900 as it allows you to be smooth and youd kinda treat it like you were drifting and just keep the rear end out and weight transfer between corners and connect slides feed the wheel through your hands and steer with the throttle kinda like your drifting. On hair pins dependingo n the hairpin id either grab the hand brake or usually id just use the cars weight and id flick it in to get it to rotate. Even on asphalt you want the rear end to hang out on the hair pins or els youll just under steer to death and be slow.
1:39 thankfully weight is something that’s starting to get fixed in newer games and sims (that include a 240 anyway). They arnt as barge-like as older titles presented. Group A 240s were more like 1050-1100kg.
You should try the legends car mod for assetto corsa it's a really fun car to drive for the track I would suggest cadwell parks full circuit as i would love to see what a real simracer could do on that track (my pb on base setup is 1.45.9)
I'm still hoping to see Jimmy try to beat a racing game of some kind, but he has to randomize his setup for every event! Random tires, gear ratio, toe angles, suspension settings and so on! I did this with GT Sport, and ended up with some of the most cursed driving characteristics i have ever seen... An SRT Viper GT3 with all the grip in the front, and jellyfish suspension in the back, making it spin at every corner it sees and during braking, as well as being able to spin the tires at 200kph at the slightest bump in the track. And still, it wasn't the worst! That honor went to an average Mini, that got such soft suspension and extreme toe angles, that it literally couldn't go straight! It constantly "fell" to one side or the other, getting worse and worse as the speed went up. It was such a travesty that i bet my friends dinner on me if ANY of them could get all the way down the start/finish straight at Fuji just once in 3 tries without braking or lifting...
Well... unfortunately I missed the stream but I believe from what I've seen: If you didn't tell everyone that there was a Volvo you probably didn't end up driving it Jimmer. 🤣
I know you only joking, but your not an idiot, please don't make yourself believe it! Next time you should say it's me who is loved by at least one guy! (Me)💪
This gives me vintage (as in three years ago) Jimmy Broadbent vibes and I love it
Right, so fun
Shedboy vibes
Oh mate the Trabant 🤣

Volvo 240, the official car of making trees wish they could run away.
A full-send 240 is a magnificent sight, the touring cars were spectacular
Yep, Robbie Francevic from NZ, won the Australian Touring Car Champs in 1986. driving a Volvo 240T. They and Nissan were front running turbo cars.
Petition to send Jimmer to Scandinavia to partake in Volvo class rallye racing in the middle of bumfuck nowhere forest gravel roads
Seeing SirFoch randomly in there after following him years ago when he did World of Tanks stuff was weird. Glad to see he's having a good time with sim racing
So they are real people!
Glad im not the only one who recconized it.
IKR! Legendary F_bomb given WG by that madlad
Awsome dude. I watched all his wot videos for a long time..
I'm sad I missed this stream but it's lethally funny with the editing and sound effects added in.
The kickball noise when he hits the bank that rolls him hahahaha
Is it me being old that I find it a bit much? (:
I've been missing some richard burns rally from you. I'm very glad you played it again! I hope to see more rally stuff from you.
I missed these videos that are just edited down from streams! Reminds me of the good ol days! I hope to get more like these!
Stream idea: put actual RBR pace notes as notification sounds for donos, then try to complete a very long stage.
Care.

Thanks Chat for the Volvo, made this old Swede very happy! 😁

I HEARD YOU SAY VOLVO AND THEN YOU GO FOR IT GODS TRULY LOOKING OUT FOR US GOD BLESS THE VOLVO 240
😍😍🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
I was literally looking into rbr today and watching some streams you did years ago, incredible timing thanks jimmer
10:50 The issue here is you didn't equip your cobblestone tires.
POLAND MENTIONED!! 🦅🦅🦅🦅🦅🔥🔥🔥
Chat make vroom vroom go boom boom
Richard Burns Rally having Paul Oakenfold - Burns Attack as soundtrack just so good :>
That was good fun to watch, thank you Jimmy :) , might have to get my copy of RBR running again :)
Turbo brick is now my new favourite name for every car that looks like that volvo and has a turbo
Turbo brick is basically the unofficial name for old turbocharged Volvos.
And rightfully so. ^^
Thank you, Jimmer, for always making me feel a little better about my driving skills in Rally games 😊
This was a super fun event to take part in and watch. I'd love to see more of some community events like this be it in RBR or any other games.
always entertaining. Love the donation comment that told you to drive wrong.

The cars survive. The drivers are sacrificed to the laws of physics
Congratulations jimmer your gonna be a great dad
11:05 Ol' Jimmer cooks the tires through 2 gears then doesn't understand why he doesn't have grip on tarmac... lol
the lenght of that tyre burnout at 10:51 lmao
Thanks chat!!!🎉 everybody loves a Swedish brick 🧱
Was falling asleep to this video, you calling out my twitch tag took me out of it for a second 😂
For a 2004 game this still looks good
I would have loved to see Jimmer tackle each stage in full. Such a cool game and Jimmer never fails to entertain. Great craic as always 👌
I live 10km from Rościszów-Walim stage, its a very hard stage, you still did a great job at driving on it
12:24 Easy right long.... into barricade.
You had one job as a collective hive mind chat, he just wanted a half decent car and instead you put him in a Turbocharged Swedish Brick 😂❤

We need Jimmy to play rbr more! The best!
Jimmy you have to mod the RB17 it's gonna be crazy
This makes me really miss the wrc content and the offroading you did in bmng
Speed has never killed anyone. Suddenly becoming stationary is what gets you.

Jimmy: Oh, no. I have made a terrible mistake.
Chat: Dance, monkey, dance!
17:17 almost had a ken block moment there, 2 years back when he hit the deer.
as a terrible rally driver that renault is my go-to every time I can choose it, i just like the little grey shitbox
I honestly wish 'my summer car' would have borrowed the driving physics from this game. That would have been unbelievable.
At rally of the tall pines a team runs a 240 and always does quite well
i wish you would open a club in EA WRC for the community to participate in
TH-cam fans know what's good 💯💯 we love the chaos 😂

The call for THAT was "Easy right, 70." Just as well you were driving a tank.
I'm a volvo driver and loving your pain 😂
rbr is back!
Well the gravel there needs to be dig over properly once a year, so the volvo was the only correct choice.
i like the stream highlights
TH-cam chat is based compared to twitch. Good thing the coin flip was on our side!
So if an easy right long is a hairpin corner, then how tight are corners that are actually designated as hairpin corners?
I have 17,800km in RBR and I act like Jimmy every stage. Every stage is just there to destroy you.
He protecc
but also attacc
But most important: He bricc
Jimmers is back again!!!!
This video gives me Shed era vibes
Rally content best content
Jimmy "the menace" 🤷♂🤷♂
David Llewellyn drove an Audi 200 grpA in the 1988 Scottish rally which you can find here on TH-cam
Doesnt RBR have a more detailed pace notes system? Ive never played the it btw that why I ask
There are mods for it yes and most of these stages are almost unplayable without them
Great video
More rallies jimmer!!! please!
Awe of missed a live 😭
Is that SirFoch of World Of Tanks fame?
Yup
not at all the point of the video but I'm always suprised at how good Richard Burns Rally looks for a game from 2004.
You need the extra RWD training to WIN the next NLS.
