it's not "relatable", it's genuine, that's what makes this feel so wholesome, so many people on TV are just following a script, trying to get a laugh out of you to keep you watching, it feels so good to see them go out playing guitar as a band even when the non-funny script is still going, i would do anything to see Conan with his employees playing a song for real. i'm sure it would get really popular too, people want to see their star going unscripted and doing something cool for the heck of it.

He does! I can't remember whether it was on the show or on the podcast but he and Sona have discussed his habit of wandering around his offices and randomly breaking into bits. It's apparently gotten to the point where his employees get exasperated with him because their boss won't stop interrupting them and trying to make them laugh while they have work to do. At least, this was what it was like pre-pandemic. Now he apparently does bits for random fans he meets in public (from a safe distance), to the point where they get sick of him and start to inch away.
Conan performed Creep hands down better with his whole crew, that guitar just adds a whole other level to it. Jordan on the Drums though never gets old!

@@bderrick4944 striking isn't "ditching" anything. for one thing it's about pushing for better pay and worker's rights - the beef is with the executives and accountants who don't want to pay good money for good work - not conan or any other tv host. for another, at the end of a strike, you go back to your job, you don't leave permanently.
Conan definitely has a certain fluid coolness about him in this segment. Even outside of the guitar work, he’s the bossman, in his groove; the boss of late night comedy.

The nbc writer's strike was one of the best times in late night tv. Conan came out with some creative skits.
wasn't just NBC, all of Hollywood had no writers.
