Thanks. Replaced my bulb for my Mitsubishi TV. Got the housing unit for 43.00 from Amazon. Free shipping and a 1 year replacement plan. You can't beat that!!!
Thank you for the great video, my Mitsubishi 65" went out on me last Sunday, and I watched your video then, opened my TV and ordered the replacement lamp and housing, and now I'm ready for the Texans to whoop the Titans this Sunday...Thanks, you saved me about $150...:)
Thanks i was about to spend over $300 to fix my T.V. and my ex-husband told me to google up how to replace an DLP after we had took the T.V. apart from front to back, we watched your video and removed the lamp and now i'm out of pocket $120. :))
I bought one from Shopjimmy on amazon.com. The bulb with housing was $60. The lamp I got from the authorized dealer was $155! My Shopjimmy lamp has a 1 yr warranty. The tech gave me only 3 months and labor was $100. I had an extended warranty which did not cover replacement lamps! Shopjimmy also has a youtube video showing how to put the bulb or lamp in and a number to call for problems. The bulb with housing is only $20 more than bulb only. Make sure the seller is Shopjimmy.
Nice video..have had a 65in DLP for about 6yrs and have changed the lamp 3 times..so easy but recommend buying lamp AND assembly together..u can buy the lamp only & re-use the assembly but more connections and its just not worth the savings (if any) Amazon has some great deals and just got one shipped in less than 2 days for under 40 bucks
@Scottcom36 well, yes but i do have an electric meter, and have tested the outlets. there is also a very nice little outlet tester you can get for 3 prong outlets that you plug in and it tells you if the outlet is wired correctly or not.
A friend is giving me a 60 inch Mitsubishi TV. They said they replaced the bulb themselves but it still won't come on. She said it needs reset. Is this true? If so, is this easy?
@Easton21 Dude, Timer started when the guy said beginning now - which is when he started changing the bulb. Then the timer stopped once the bulb was finished being changed. Did you want the timer to run over the end credits as well? All the other bulb changes I've seen on the web condense the time, this is the actual running time. 3 minutes and 5 seconds from "starting now" to when he powers up the TV.
So I have the exact same tv, replaced the bulb but the lamp light still up front still flashes could there another internal problem I don't know about. Ps this isn't the the first time the bulb has gone out on us
If the switch on your power strip is like mine it only cuts the hot side and not the neutral. If the outlet happened to be wired backwards, 120 volts would still be getting through even with the switch off. Even the neutral side can have some voltage present. Unplug the set instead.
how much does the DLC lamp cost for a Sony. i don't know the year but it is a pretty old tv. video is so helpful but i need to know a price or where to buy it?
Thank you very much I have been dealing with the bad bulb for more than a year it would turn off every once in awhile but I could deal with that. I wanted to get as much life out of the bad one as possible. The screen started to get so dark that I had to do it today. Hey Spaghetti 2021 I thought the same thing about turning the tv in the video so we could see, but holy crap its so easy. I did like the video got an idea of what to do and make sure I'm not doing it wrong. The tv is so much better.
Good night, my friend, who speaks and Bruno lives in Brazil. I wanted to know why my samsung tv does not connect with it and anyway its in her freight is written, time lamp I take the lamp to a technical assistance to see if the lampata is burned at the time she call I'm grateful for your help please help me
That was very helpful. Would have been much better if the tv had been pulled out so the camera could see more of what he was doing rather than focusing on the person's face. But again, great video. Thanks
Actually I did not. I read on the online manual to the tv that it does not have a timer. I need to call mitsubishi directly and see if they can help out. I will post again if I get a solution
@Easton21 Hmmmm, Sadly, it appears the timer is off, which was unintentional. Pity you were so belligerent about it. Now I feel bad, I really thought I did it in just over 3 minutes. Will have to see why the timer is off. The goal was actually two minutes, onc e we blew through that, there was no reason to "slow down" the timer. Take care.
joeh690 I have a Mitsubishi WD-52526 & just Googled it & it showed up at Walmart, so I ordered it for about $30 & just finished hooking it up & testing it. Works like a champ. 👌
Respond to this video... Dude the timer begins when the guy says "Starting now" and ends when he powers up the TV. What you wanted it to start when he says Hi, and continue until the end credits. Gee whiz, he didn't even pre-open the bulb box, and stopped working to explain things. It was a real time thing, all the other videos like this I've seen condense time, this was not condensed.
good video..but timer on the screen is running slower. Thx for the info. I ordered my bulb for my old sony...$120...express shipping included. Thx to this video I'll spend ZERO on installation.
Does anyone here know how to reset the timer. I have a 73" mitsubishi DLP model #73732. I already replaced the bulb but the timer light keeps flashing several times each time I want to turn on the tv? I've seen on the Internet things such as; holding down the power key, and the two channel changers on the control panel for 3 seconds until the status lights blinks twice. But I tried that and the problem continues. Any suggestions?
@Scottcom36 That's good to know, thanks for pointing it out, Ill have to check. Of course allmy outlets are wired correctly, and i would never flip the ground. . . :-) Thanks
Can't believe companies charge 250 to put this in. You literally unscrew a few screws pull the old one out and pop.the new one in. Tooke me just under two minutes.
Thank you so much for this video i don't no what had happin to the TV it when out in a red light came on in it said Lamp AND THE TIMER BLINKING on the TV IT COME ON BUT NO PICTURE IS BLACK SCREEN WITH SOUND THEN THE TV GO BACK OFF WITH THE RED LIGHT ON AGAIN IN THE TIME GREEN LIGHT BLINK
. Even easier on newer TVs, they know these $100-200 bulbs are often lucky to last a year, so now make for 'no tools' changing... these TVs a scam as far as I'm concerned... should have used a longer lasting bulb type...
@veenotph Dude, get a stopwatch and time his "three" minutes. And then tell me how crow tastes. His timer was slowed in order to meet the three-minute goal. It's simple math really. If he starts it at 30 seconds into the video, it should end at 3:30 into the video, not 4:15. Duh. God I really hate having to explain things like this to people who are so quick to call bullshit before they even bother to test the concept.
You started the "three minute timer" at 30 seconds into the video, and it ended at 4:15. Why did you slow the timer down? Is it really worth hitting the three-minute mark (which he didn't btw) by lying? That really pisses me off. Thumbs down.
Thanks. Replaced my bulb for my Mitsubishi TV. Got the housing unit for 43.00 from Amazon. Free shipping and a 1 year replacement plan. You can't beat that!!!
Whats the diffrents between both of them.
Ebay is cheaper (always). Just bought mine (10/29/17) for $38.00 on Ebay

THANK YOU. Never thought it was going to be this easy! Good tutorial!

It's even cheaper to buy the lamps theses days. I've seen that exact bulb he just installed go for $20-40 online.
Not only did he do it in 3 minutes, but it sounds like the poor guy was battling a cold as well.
That was definitely worth watching. Great job, thank you! I love my tv.
@Scottcom36

I have a LG Manufactured May 2009 LCD 50 inch. It stopped working. Would it be the bulb?
A friend is giving me a 60 inch Mitsubishi TV. They said they replaced the bulb themselves but it still won't come on. She said it needs reset. Is this true? If so, is this easy?
How about uploading a video showing how to change the color wheel or LEDs if you have a LED DLP? That would be helpful also.
@Easton21

I keep reading from bulb distributers to always reset the lamp timer. Is that true?

please help me
I don't know what timer you were using but, I timed this and it took 3 minutes 51 seconds! Your clock was running real slow!!
Where the heck is it on on a Hitachi TV 63. Inch ??????
You're saving money by not paying an electrician to change the bulb for you.
That was very helpful. Would have been much better if the tv had been pulled out so the camera could see more of what he was doing rather than focusing on the person's face. But again, great video. Thanks
Hey man, what do i do if my replacement won't fit
Actually I did not. I read on the online manual to the tv that it does not have a timer. I need to call mitsubishi directly and see if they can help out. I will post again if I get a solution
