    Good evening
    Today we will be with the most famous and widespread classical instrumental? It is called the salmon quartet, or the piano quartet as it is sometimes called,...
    In 1819 Franz Schubert composed his music called the Salmon Quartet
    The ideas, states, and situations that music depicts know no boundaries. Could it be possible, for example, that the movement of a small fish in the waters of a lake be the subject of a piece of music that was written for it after it became one of the most famous and widespread classical instruments?
    Franz Schubert composed his music called the salmon quartet, or the piano quartet as it is sometimes called, in the year 1819 when he was not yet twenty-two years old.
    He embarked on this task at the request of one of his friends, who told him the story of a small salmon fish he had seen one day in the water trying hard to escape lightly and skillfully from the nets of a fisherman.
    Schubert was one of the most famous musicians of the Romantic era. He was called the child prodigy after signs of his genius appeared at an early age. It was said that as soon as he touched something, it turned into songs and music.
    His first highly acclaimed work was his music, which he composed for Goethe's Faust. Franz Schubert was born into a middle-class family. His father entrusted him to a number of professors who taught him to play the piano and violin. But in the end, he was able to compete with them and even surpass them thanks to his exceptional and unique talent.
    At the time of Schubert, Vienna was the capital of art and music in the world. He lived in the era of the aristocratic families that ruled many countries in Europe. He was also destined to witness Napoleon's war and his occupation of Vienna at the age of eight. Vienna was then home to the most famous musical names such as Beethoven, Brahms, Mozart, Haydn and others. Because of its location at the crossroads of European trade routes, the city has turned into an important cultural and artistic center and incubator for many theaters, operas, music and singing halls.
    Franz Schubert was a simple and humble person. He would often say that he was only created to sit at home and compose music, which was his first and last love. He was known for his love of nightlife and nightlife, and his frequent cafés. At the time, Vienna was known for its many cafes. This was achieved after the Turks withdrew from it at the end of the seventeenth century, leaving behind huge bags of coffee. The Viennese people's passion for coffee has continued from that time until today...Shubert wrote many pieces of music about love, loss, nature, happiness, misery, joy, sadness and death.
    However, his most famous compositions were his Fifth Symphony and his many written quartets for stringed instruments. He was known for the abundance of his production and the diversity of his works. However, after he contracted syphilis in his prime, his production gradually decreased, and his music became dominated by sadness and pessimism. After his death at the age of 31, he was buried next to Beethoven in the Vienna Cemetery, according to his will.
    Schubert's music about salmon consists of five movements, the most famous of which are the first and fourth. It is clear that he wrote this music with unparalleled enthusiasm and joy. Whoever listens to the fast and dancing piano melodies in this quartet, especially in the fourth movement, will undoubtedly imagine the fish tumbling up and down on the surface of the shiny and rippling lake water, trying to avoid falling into the clutches of the stubborn fisherman.
    This piece was and still is very popular, as evidenced by the fact that hardly a year goes by without new recordings and translations and various innovative musical treatments on the market.
    You see, if you had listened to this music without having any idea of its story, would it have occurred to you that it was about a fish desperately trying to cling to its freedom in the face of a persistent fisherman bent on catching it?
    Most people think that the answer will be no. The atmosphere of the music here is meditative par excellence. This feeling is deepened by the wonderful way in which the sounds of violin, piano and cello blend, conveying a sense of longing and sad remembrance. ?
    Brought to you by Dr. Farid Al-Jarrah

    This is the part that gives the Trout Quintet its name, the theme being a song called the Trout. I plan on setting lyrics to it that have nothing to do with trout or any other kind of fish!

    Simply brilliant. Thanks for sharing it with us. I can't seem to find the first movement. Any chance you can upload it too? Thanks in advance

    • @raymondschroeder7270
      @raymondschroeder7270 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      a sonata has a first movement. with theme and variations, the theme is the equivalent of the first movement, and the variations show the composers skill. for example, can you hear the trout swimming about in the piano part?

    • @rollsreus2807
      @rollsreus2807 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@raymondschroeder7270 This particular quintet has this whole section as movement 4, however. Normally you would be correct but this particular quintet is an exception.
