I love how Elliot goes straight and turns at 2:20 instead of walking directly to home. Cause you know,he actually in a narrow corridor and that''s how you move in jail to go your room.
There are so many award-worthy performances in this show, and this is a perfect example! The on screen chemistry between Malek and Slater is off the chain! The representation of Elliot's psychosis is incredibly powerful and so unsettling!
Season 2 kind of drags on & on, like in an infinite loop of insanity, & gets so introspective & philosophical. show can be divided into 3 phrases. S1 is like "A New Hope" - hero joins the war & made a big strike on the enemy. S2 & S3 - "Empire Strikes Back" - things get worse & worse, bad guys are winning, the good guys are nearly wiped out. & finally S4 is "Return of the Jedi" - final showdown between hero & the villain. So 3 seasons are enough to cover the 3 phrases. but the 2nd phrase ended up dragging longer than needed, & decrease the momentum of the overall story. such a pity.
Season 2 is a lot about character development and grand design of the aftermath of 5/9, you probably won't get it now but neither did I on my first watch of Season 2. Season 2 is a battle Elliott puts up against Mr Robot and Rami Malek's acting is beautiful this season. Season 2 is about exploring Price, Dominique, Whiteroe, the eerie feeling of Tyrell's absence and insanity of Joanna and Darlene's Fsociety base getting nailed by Susan Jacobs, Darlene nailing Susan Jacobs. Angela's unwavering resolve and commitment to her lawsuit all beautifully coming together in place to set up Season 3. I had such a blast watching Season 2. Even though from a plot oriented perspective season 2 has only a few important episodes (last 4) I had a ride exploring Dom, Elliot, Phillip Price.
I refuse to fucking believe someone like Elliot would ever continue writing after the “gap”. He would be obsessed I find out why other than go on. So that is one of the least believable scene in the whole show.
With all due respect, I don’t understand your point. Elliot was fully aware of the cause of the gap, that being Mr Robot. Mr Robot effectively confessed to his role in the gap’s existence , so for Elliot to be “Obsessed” over the gap wouldn’t make sense because that mystery’s already been solved. Now, tbf, if Mr Robot didn’t show up and reveal himself as the culprit behind the gap’s existence, I would fully agree with you.

4:25 so well done when you realize he's alone in a prison cell, the performance becomes so unsettling.
