I am an actor and content creator with Hollywood credits including roles on Lucifer (Netflix), Starlight Christmas (Hallmark), JT Leroy (Universal Studios), etc. In this channel, I offer insight to Kpop performances using my 10+ years of training in dance, acting, singing and overall performance. In dance, my forte are contemporary and musicals and have done most of my performances in theatre. Although my channel is mostly known for dance analysis, I am currently inactive in the dance community.
JYP said they are vocalist, and they are proving it! They always sing live on music shows and they did a LIVE band version of O.O, and it's amazing!! But Lily, the one who sang before that leg work is proving that she's the main vocalist! 🤣❤️❤️

@@ameliarose6200 nope, they always sing live, there's a bunch of clips that they are practicing even before performing on the stage, and also, listen carefully when they perform, even on tank's first bside performance, it was live.
@@renelgamo3741 They did sing live most of stages, but on a pre-recorded track. What they actually sing on stage may not as good as what you hear. Actually no one can sing live that stable while dancing, so dont believe on these kind of mr removed videos. No one can deny that they are talented af, but overrating is not a good way to support them.

In my eyes yess kyujin is the center, she just has good details and facial expressions plus her dancing is amazing

Kyujin, Bae and Jinni also has be capturing me a lot. I don't know but they always attract my eyes in their performances❤️ I also heard that Kyujin is a Center (correct me if I am wrong) and honestly, she deserved her position love her sm❤️
Actually, their center position is rotational. Ppl have a theory that the next center for the next comeback will be jiwoo cuz of the post credits scene of O.O

@@tc5405 I never thought that it is the case but personally, I think it's unique based on my experience since I never knew a group can also have multiple centres or a centre can be a rotational role inside a group, I guess it is nice since every member can have their own era to shine. i honestly liked their "street woman fighter" vibe more than the whole thing (which if I didn't count wrong there were like 14 different tempo/style/genre changes, as much as a noisy music lover I am this was too much for me), but I do wish they do go with the harder "street woman fighter" style eventually, they have the vocals for it and the hardcore dance already.
“tempo/style/genre” feel like you just put three musical terms you could think of together
The "14 different changes" is heavily exaggerated and doesn't really even make much sense. Besides most of the switch ups aren't even noticeable, generally people will hear the dark-bright-dark switch and that's it. The tempo changes are minimal and the more "soulful" sections in both styles are typical for K-pop and fit their respective sounds. If you think the genre switch is jarring then fair enough but there is ONE noticeable switch up lol.

The fact that the choreo is so tiring and hard and they always sing live with all of their performances and some of the notes of the song are also high makes them amazing
I know the choreo and it's hard without even singing live, it requires so much energy for it to look good in my opinion, after I do the dance full out I have like 40% of my energy left, but I have fun dancing to this song either way

kyujin, the girl in the pink sweatpants is really impressive. she's already a great performer and she's the youngest! a good center pick indeed. jinni is up there too.
The performance/choreo stuck with me more. The issue is that this song sounds more like a highlight melody each section was great and without the huge pause it sounds so much better. But I feel like we missed out on the song getting fleshed out because it feels like the fast part of each section. It took me so long for some lyric to stick in my mind. But I love each of the sections.
I agree that their choreography for this song is soo "heavy". I imagine how hard it is to perform this so many times, the amount of energy and stamina would be just O.O lolz
But as an audience, I really enjoy the choreography. It takes a while to let the music grow on me lolz. And yes, I think they need some more "oomph" to their moves and group sync to make it even more satisfying, but they got a lot of room to grow. Oh, and you should totally react to TANK too.
And well, I've been sending you DMs on IG trying to get you do a reaction to XG - Tippy Toes, so pleaseee, do them hahaha. They're monsters.
I would highly recommend checking out their studio choom performaces for both O.O and Tank. I really love Tank choreo and I feel like you're going to love the vocal performance in that song too. Also I hope you do react to their JYPn content because it'll definitely show off the girls more.

They don’t have fixated positions but they basically have two main vocalists. The girl that hitting the high notes (Lily) and the other one that was singing the bridge (Haewon) are known as the main vocalist duo.
You can definitely tell there are unofficial positions

I don’t hate O.O anymore once I realized what JYP was trying to do. At first I didn’t like the lack of cohesion between the different parts of the MV/song. And thought the lyrics were mostly nonsense words. Until I realized the MV/song is basically a highlight medley/teaser at a MV scale with a MV budget. While I still think parts of the lyrics could be better, they make sense now. While the uproar caused seems intentional, I still would have preferred they had just done 2 separate songs/MVs. I liked Tank way more but the chorus kinda ruins it for me tho.
I felt the same! After a few listens I was like wait it's more of a teaser but in song form 💁🏽♀️ I actually like it more than tank...idk what it is about tank but I can't really listen to it 😂🤷🏽♀️ I loveeee the bridge though 😂
i recommend watching the reaction to this song by Itsandyandjas. They break down the lyrics. It's very creative with double meanings

I get that some people do not like the song but it is undeniable that the girls are talented...the best thing I love about them are their stable vocals...they even sing the adlibs live..it's kinda hard to find in this generation of kpop😅

10:00 - 10:50 for the nmixx choreo which you have tried, you are bending down with both of your feet aligned horizontally to each other, but what i noticed in the nmixx members video clip is that their feet are not exactly horizontally aligned to each other when they bend down, if you watch carefully their right leg is actually slightly behind the left leg, and also their feet are not like yours, both pointed in 12 o'clock direction, but their right leg behind is pointed diagonally in about 2 o'clock direction, hence i guess with these slight adjustments in feet, it is easier to execute the choreo of opening and closing their knees while bending down and pushing their butts up .....haha you may try again to see whether is it easier ....😂

Jeff so glad to see you back and reacting to this! the choreo is just insane, its alr enough that they can pull it off but they also sing live in the music shows which makes it even more mind blowing!! these girls are so talented, they had uploaded some covers pre debut to show off their talents, if u want to get to know them better i recommended checking them out, i loved all of them!
Welcome back! Love the new set. As a Stan of many 4th gen groups (everglow,fromis_9, Aespa) I think this is the most impressive debut I have ever seen. Their vocals are amazing and they can do it live. The choreo is great as well. This is definitely a performance group. I think what put people off the song was that they tried to showcase a few concepts. If you view the song that way as more of a full showcase of their talents then I think you can appreciate the song more.

Honestly I think they might have been a bit nervous filming their first dance practice. I totally recommend watching their Studio Choom performances because they go SO hard. Also their live vocals are crazy good!
