At the beginning of all things, a sentient force of pure creation called The Nameless forged worlds, stars, and gods just by being there - gods who were all really obvious anagrams of the things they represented, and who would themselves create the mortal races and place them upon the land of Norrath. One lesser god, Zebuxoruk, stole knowledge from his fellows and gave it to the many humans, elves, lizards and tiger people of the world, royally pissing off the rest of the pantheon and getting himself locked away in the planes of Justice and Time, respectively, for his trouble. The knowledge, now in the hands of the champions of Norrath, made them powerful and loot-hungry beyond measure.
Demigods, dragons, and holy avatars fell under their collective thirst for better gear, along with a powerful lich, a crystal dragon, undiscovered continents, and even more dragons, until they grew so powerful and so obsessed with the majesty of loot that they invaded the realm of time to free Zebuxoruk once and for all (though that was really secondary compared to the loot).
The Goddess of Magic Druzzil Ro, in a final gambit to prevent the fallen godling from escaping, sundered and reordered the timeline to imprison him forever -- in turn, causing the universe to split and untold treasures to be revealed. Now it's up to you to raid ancient ruins, kill dragons with your fists, and bring the gods to their knees all for a super sweet hat and a crack at the Goddess herself.

As a longtime EverQuest player I can't say that this accurately portrays EQ lore for the uninitiated, but for someone who already knows the lore it certainly works :) A bit short though ;)

No he means the story is pretty much a rip off of the ancient greek myth of Prometheus giving fire (knowledge) to mankind and being brutally punished by the gods for it...

Zebuxoruk is of course inspired by Prometheus, a greek god (and a titan) who stole the fire from the gods and gave it too the humans. they punished him by chain him to a clift and a eagle comes and eat his liver. This is pretty simular.
I remember this game its one of theses popular mmorpgs back then in 1999 I think its one of the best ones in the history of online gaming.

I know right! sooooooo many pivotal plot points in Prometheus that revolved around loot.

But... just in case youuuuuuuuu don't know, I don't think Kurogane was referring to the recent movie but the greek god Prometheus that brought fire to man. Can you guys do some old games' lore, like Heroes of Might and Magic, Lords of Magic, and Oddworld?
That would be great, but I'm wondering about heroes, because there are 6 unconnected games(5 and 6 are in a different universe). So, what would they say in the video?
I'd prefer if they just didn't acknowledge the existence of any Heroes of Might and Magic game beyond Heroes III.
Abelhawk Well, I don't know, me too, perhaps. But not because I don't like it, more because the overall quality of the stories later is much lower, the destruction of enroth is okay, but they didn't know how to make heroes 4 properly. Did you play horn of the abyss, by any chance?

I thought Zebuxoruk was human to begin with just that stealing the thing sent him out side the flow of normal time and made him a god.

... Planetside (2) Lore next? Made by the same devs and the backstory is kinda interesting. Guy starts a spandex-based cult based on an ancient alien toy, then the government and the force of capitalism itself begin beating up on each other and said cult.
All on another planet, of course, with respawning powers built into it and only plants, to accommodate the lack of animal AI.

I wish I got to play the classic EQ. I know Project 1999 exists, but it's so hard to find a decently priced copy of Titanium.
I got mine on ebay for about 25 bucks, and many other places sell them for about that much, just get a used copy
