Marguerite Porete (13th century - 1 June 1310) was a French-speaking mystic and the author of The Mirror of Simple Souls, a work of Christian mysticism dealing with the workings of agape (divine love). She was burnt at the stake for heresy in Paris in 1310 after a lengthy trial, refusing to remove her book from circulation or recant her views. It was reported in a chronicle that the crowd was moved to tears by the calmness of how she faced her end.
Porete's life is recorded only in accounts of her trial for heresy, at which she was condemned to be burnt at the stake. Porete's biography is probably biased and certainly incomplete. She was said to come from the County of Hainaut, a French-speaking principality in the Holy Roman Empire, though this is uncertain. Her high level of education means she is likely to have had upper-class origins. She is associated with the beguine movement and was therefore able to travel fairly freely.

I did try the CC captions before but it only gave me an (auto-generated) version and from what i have seen many times it doesn’t always get what the speaker is saying quite right.

right, encapsulated concepts) that successfully capture it. Mind is not the problem it's innocent, where it takes you depends on your level of maturity. Spiritual growth is the story of the prodigal son. I'm not Christian (or anything) ,but love the parables and metaphors in the bible. This is my understanding, but always open.

Oh, how wonderfull. Wanted to suggest her to you some time ago. What most folks do not know is, that Master Eckart arrived in Paris the year, Marguerite got murdered at the stake. He did not mention her, though..... But he was inspired by her a lot. To me she goes beyond all, that convention could allow. What a brave soul. TRUTH CAN WAIT:
Marguerite Porete is mighty. She told the theologians exactly what she thought of their fake philosophies. Apparently Meister Eckhart was influenced by her too.
The thing about the western tradition is there are two traditions mixed up with one another. There's rationalism which follows from Plato's ontology and there's authentic Christianity. Marguerite Porete is a real Christian, that's why she insists there's a reality beyond reason. The philosophical intellect doesn't recognise spiritual realities. It's all abstract thought, reflecting static ideal forms, sensual representations and logical arguments.
Padre Pio had similar problems with the Church. The Christian hierarchy is made up of intellectuals that don't have a spiritual bone in their bodies. The Bible is pretty clear, gifts of the spirit occur with incarnation of the holy spirit. Pio had gifts galore!

@@afriend621 Yes, many great and powerful Masters were often visited and hassled by demons. When one's purity is strong and authentic, Mara (or the personification of the forces antagonistic to enlightenment) manifests to attempt to stop them. The Buddha was visited by Mara on the night of his full enlightenment with visions similar to what Padre Pio described (lustful female deities, wrathful, terrifying forms, etc.). This is indeed reflecting the "gifts" of an advanced practitioner and a testament to the purity of these Masters and the threat they pose to ignorance and stupidity. Mara doesn't bother with average people as they tend to do Mara's work of perpetuating the delusion! Milarepa also encountered many wrathful demons in his cave in Tibet and blasted them with love and compassion - they couldn't stand it so fled. He was totally fearless and unperturbed as he understood completely their empty, insubstantial nature, and the truth of them being but a mere reflection in the mind.

There are holy and loving beings in the Catholic Church, though. According to Dr. Hawkins Calibration of Consciousness, St. John Paul II, who was Pope from 1978-2005, calibrated at 570, which is the level of unconditional love and not far from enlightenment. There is hope:)

Having been involved in the Christian ‘religion’ for many years, if I may share something. In the study of the Bible to understand it there are rules called Hermeneutics, one of the basic rules is the law of first mention. From the religious perspective the 10 commandments are the first commands of God. But this is not true, the first command was to not eat of the tree of the knowledge of good n evil. The reason for the 10 commandments is because we eat from the tree of knowledge=the mind. Without that the 10 commandments are not needed. That command to not eat from that tree was not just to Adam=the Bible says ‘no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation’ meaning what it said to Adam is for you too. Just like when it says ‘before I formed you in the womb I knew you n approved of you’, that wasn’t just to Jeremiah but to you too. This must be understood! It changes everything!

'Not my will but your be done'! When He saw He was to be crucified, it was what the Father was doing
In the same way the Father is in charge of your life, leading you to the death of self=ego
Only say not my will but your be done in all that happens, this is death to the ego!
One could say the ego is will, where does will come from=Satan said I will be like the Most High, I will, I will, I will.
So when you will something, remember where that comes from
God is in control n to BE Trusted, not willed against
‘all things are fitting into His plan to do you good’ Romans says,
So don’t ‘be found to be fighting against God’
‘Deep calls to deep’, so the lion of the tribe of Judah calls His sheep
Do you know what happens when a lion finds a lost sheep?
They become one
Don’t go outside looking for footprints, the lion is in the house
Having never left home you are looking for a way
'The lost coin' was always in the house, it just needed swept
'The treasure' was always in the field, just needed uncovered
'The parodical' was always a son, just had to come home
‘You have only forgotten the rock from which you were hune’
You can’t see this rock because it is what sees in you
Can the eyes see the eyes or just other things?
St. Francis said what we are looking for is what is looking
You are not what you are aware of, you are the awareness
You are aware of thoughts n feelings=not you
You are the perceiver not what is perceived
Try the book of Thomas read by this nun for she has wissdom, and delve into some hermetics.
I mean, these are just some suggestions.
There is a higher will, one aligned with God's will,

Have you read the book called Imitation of Christ (by Thomas a Kempis)? Through many years reading works of many religions this has to be my favorite Christian writing.. have this little book by my side all the time, It might be too simplistic for audio recordings though.. but i would highly recommend it to those who like writings of Christian mystics.. amazing how simple yet deep and practical it is

This message mirrors that of AJ Miller closely as I understand it in that the potential for any person to become at one with God on earth, not requiring to die first, is a valid potential and was demonstrated by Jesus once before.
