Hiniker 6000 Cultivating Organic Soybeans

Welcome back to IN Organic Farmer! This video was filmed on June 10, 2023. In this video, I am cultivating organic soybeans with my 12 row Hiniker 6000 cultivator and John Deere 8320R tractor. I am using John Deere's GreenStar RTK autosteer system to get as close to the row as possible. I talk about how important the tine weeder pass was and what my cultivator settings are. I show my new added backup camera from Larsen Lights that I use to stay on the row. I also mention how I am using RTK autosteer to overcome planter drift. Thank you all for watching! Are you still running your acura trak camera guidance?

I didn’t at all last year. I felt like I could do a better job keeping the sway blocks in tight and using the backup camera. Sunco had a good idea but the system really lacks in computing power to make instant decisions.

You cant grow nothing organic here in West Tennessee. Pigweeds would take it in a week. They just laugh at cold steel .

Redroot Pigweed is also one of my problem weeds. So far I have been able to control it. A Weed Zapper works great at killing it in soybeans if they are over the canopy. In corn, a flamer works great too.
