  • Video showing us cultivating our organic soybeans for the second time. These beans look really good, unfortunately they were planted very late due to a very wet spring.

    Best video yet as far as video and sound editing; the slow motion was very satisfying to watch! (And voice over was a good idea) More videos like this. And good commentary too, your last statement answered the question I had the whole time... don’t destroy the beans!!!

    Love the video! Hope to see more. Wish we can follow you through the 2021 growing season and see all the steps you take to growing organic crops

    I enjoyed your video. Our styles are 110% different, I'm no till and all cover crop, have not stabbed my soil in 19 years, but it's nice to see other's doing what they can.
    One thing about building up that organic matter and building a nice root structure in the soil, is I didn't have that many issues getting into the fields that year.

      Thanks, we were very happy with its performance. We had never seen one run before and found this particular unit for sale on the internet and it was not too far from us. Most of the ones we had seen for sale were way to far away to haul here for a reasonable price.

    Hey Jordan! Good video. How'd the crop turn out?

    • @jordansettlage7593

      Abram Ziegler thank you. They turned out far better than we thought they would. We have not sold them all yet so we don’t have a solid number but we believe they averaged in the low 40s. They also happened to come off very clean less than 1% fm which was a surprise as well considering how many weeds there were in the field. Thanks for watching

    Hi Jordan, are you using Auto steering? RTK?
    Any other precision agriculture technologies?

    • @jordansettlage7593
      @jordansettlage7593  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      No we do not. Its something that we have looked into but at this time it is hard to justify for the small number of acres that we row crop

    Great video. Is the Hiniker 5000 hooked up to a guidance system or you're just relying on the tractor guidance system?

    • @jordansettlage7593
      @jordansettlage7593  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      We do not use any guidance systems. We drive the good old fashion way and steer by hand. It can be very difficult and sometimes we take out some of the crop on accident.
