I only realised recently and i hope you have too but you are a pillar of the modelling community everyone knows you and follows your guides keep it up!
Yes. At least three other modelers have mentioned that they either are doing something they saw Uncle doing or are trying not to do something they saw him do in just the last week. Gotta say that one thing I really like about him is his willingness to not just step but leap out of his comfort zone. Here he is doing figures like he’s been doing it his whole life, building things that aren’t tanks, and building dioramas. Yes Uncle, some of us remember when you said you’d never build a diorama.
You are by FAR my favorite diorama creator on youtube not only for your detailed creation but also because your helpful commentary. Wish you all the best!
Dear Uncle. Now everyone sees why you changed your style of releasing videos. Its a VERY long video, but VERY GOOD as well. It soothing, detailed and - most importantly - i never felt you would rush through the topic. And thats what you did back in the day when we had weekly videos. So, dear Martin, thank you. Great video (amazing build too!) and a very own unique style too.
THE best 50 minutes of modelling I have ever watched……truly incredible work…..for a man who wasn’t sure about going into dioramas back in the day, too arguably the best diorama modeller on this planet……stunning, stunning piece…….👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
I am nearing my sixtieth year and have modelled on and off since I was a young boy. Over the years I gained experience and some of the financial means needed to improve and enrich my modelling pleasure. You Sir are awesome! You are a leonardo da vinci of this wonderful hobby and passion we have all become enslaved to! Thank you 🙏 so much for sharing all your hard work and advice it is hugely appreciated. 🤗
I bow in the presence of The Master. And your sense of humor is a nice addition. These kind of videos can get somewhat dry just based on the subject itself. A smile once in a while makes it all the better
This model diorama building channel is by far one of the best here on TH-cam in my humble opinion. As someone who has been doing this type of work for over forty years I’ve seen everything under the sun in terms of techniques and trends . Products good or bad come and go. Model kits horribly produced or perfectly made are everywhere. True talent and most importantly someone who genuinely enjoys what they are doing always catches my eye. Story telling and fun are paramount in diorama creation. You my friend are excelling in those areas. May your imagination and joy never end…
Seeing all of this come together slowly just makes me appreciate the work you Put into all of this.Modelling is a great hobby and you help to make the TH-cam community of the Hobby just simply a better płace. Thanks Uncle NS!
That blue-green color on the door looks like Haint blue, which was used in the American south to ward off ghosts. On one hand it's ironic that the pop of color meant to make it look less like a horror movie actually made me think more about ghosts, but on the other hand, if the haint blue was effective then the mill isn't haunted, so mission accomplished.
Out of hundreds of channels I'm subscribed to, this is one of only 4 or 5 that I have notifications turned on for when you release a new one. Always a great video.
Oh wow the birch catkin bits as ivy leaves is such an inspired choice, love the small natural variation in exact shape and size versus store bought foliage
This looks spectacular! There’s always a place for both sides of the diorama coin. Scratchbuilding gives you infinite freedom, but these commercial kits look amazing too. Love it at always, can’t wait for the next one!
My main thought here is....your followers love what you offer in its truest form...meaning we dont count the days and apply pressure for you to produce. A true fan / follower appreciates you in your natural form of creating & sharing WITH YOUR HAPPINESS THRUNOUT being a HUGE reason we watch. #YourHappyWeRHappy
It matters not even if you don't build models yourself, it's incredibly satisfying seeing a build like this (and all your others) come together. It must be so much of a buzz seeing what's in your head come to life in front of your eyes. Incredible piece of art.
Lovely work! I'm a huge fan of mills, both water and wind. Years ago, I had a cardboard cut and assemble windmill that was designed to work. Instead of cutting it out, I used it as a template and reproduced it in wood. All the timbers were mortised together, the wind vanes were scarfed and bolted together just like a real windmill. I covered the roof with hand split cedar shingles. If I'd been able to make or get actual stone grindstones, it would have ground. Alas, I couldn't, so I made do with 3" circles of oak cut on a hole saw. The same artist who did the windmill also did a watermill. One of these days . . . Really great work sir!
As someone who has no clue whatsoever about the effort that goes into making a diorama, its mind blowing to watch your craft and see the scene coming alive with every addition of detail. There were countless instances during the video when I thought - "Wow, that looks absolutely stunning" and you go ahead and add several more layers of detail and I am just speechless. Good is not good enough - perfection is where you draw the line! Thank you for sharing your work and amazing talent.
Top notch. Humor with straight talk. Interesting. Amazing to someone who just rabbit hole here. And has no experience. Very well video. As the others ive hopped through
AWESOME !!! So much detail, but not overly so You don't get lost, or over look something, but you never aren't seeing something. Your step by step narration & hints are so very appreciated. Learn something everytime I watch, even repeat veiwing. I wish I had your talents. Keep up the great work.
OH HELL YEA.....the thumbnail alone got me very VRRY EXCITED! I don't even build / collect tanks and such ( i collect other stuff)...until your one of only a couple channels / hosts that I truly love to watch!
Man, you nailed it once again - IN SPADES !!! This is just SO good - ideas, technique and your approach to showing your work. THANKS - you are my go to channel for good advice and inspiration.
This is by far the best one you've done. This diorama creates a story that's begging to be written. Have you thought about doing a railroad themed diorama?
I try to watch other diorama builder videos…but none paint their grass, like you…so I just can’t watch them. Your builds are the best, for the extra attention you pay to your ground work. Thank you for your videos🤘
I really love your attitude! You're always very humble and saying such things like "it wasn't much work" and everybody can see, your work is absolutely perfect and a long way to go! This diorama is absolutely awesome and with insane details. It's telling a very nice story and it was very informative (again) about some of your techniques. One reason more, why I love your work and this channel! Many thanks again!
Brilliant. And may I compliment your much improved English? The flat tone is exactly how we speak in the UK. Well done sir. Makes your narrative so much better.
Your eye for the details is impeccable..those wood beams looked so natural and real..I love all your content and I too enjoy the commentary rather than having nothing but music play as you build..This piece turned out simply amazing
This piece is beautiful. Great work. I love doing diorama work. Have not done one in a long time. What I like more than building it, is photographing one. It adds the life and dimensions to masterpieces such as yours.
Night shift ive been watching your videos from pretty much the beginning and I'm amazed to see that they get better every time, every video seems to be an improvement on the last which I didn't think would be possible. It genuinely shows how much care and how much time you put in, the small talks you have added with your tips and reviews are amazing and I hope to see more of them in the future, outstanding work as always mate, thankyou for providing such high quality content.
this just popped up in my suggested videos and i'm only 30 seconds in but i had to pause it to thank you for putting subtitles. i have some kind of auditory processing problem so captions on a video are super helpful!
Man, don’t let ‘em come down on your darker style, that’s one thing I love about your work. There’s a kind of Tim Burton-ish color palette inside your results, I love them. Your results look lived in, they have real personality, good work.
Simply beautiful!! I really love that one. Your skills improves a lot in 2023. I remember not so long time ago when you started building your own diorama et painting figurines. Your painting skills are simply out of this world. Thanks for sharing your work. I really appreciate it.
Wow. I do think it the most beautifull dio you ever did! Everything is perfect. And the idea of the paratrooper giving candy to the kid is great. Thank you again for such a great video!❤
I have been following you since you had 17,000 subscribers on your channel, today you have 336,000 I hope you reach one million, you deserve it congrats!!!
Just got done watching and the cameo appearances really take the production up a level. I would definitely suggest keeping that in your videos. I can see myself rewatching this one several times. There’s nothing I can add that hasn’t already been said!
Martin, You are one of the best!... modelers I have ever seen!... JUST AMAZING WORK! Absolutely brilliant builder... Keep up the great work!.. and never ever cut yourself short on any of you're projects. When it comes to building models and creating dioramas there is no failure!.. we learn from every build. I've been watching all your videos and every single one of them are 100% impressive!... Take care Kiddo, your friend Tom from Ottawa Ontario Canada.
Fantastic, I was well stimulated as for my time not able to build and construct do to others but I hope to once again get back to the art of crafting until then I will stimulate my mind by watching others, praying that I will be able to continue this Fantastic relaxing art form, thanks for sharing your abilities and your love for the best self art outlet! 😊❤
I know nothing about model making or dioramas. I just stumbled on this video, and your work is just breathtaking. Mesmerizing to watch and great detail in the work and the explanation. Remarkable!
Coming home from late shift with some model projects on my bench... and saw THIS. Your videos are always so inspiring and helpful! PS: Talked several times with the shop owner of RT dioramas at model shows - he really is a good fellow. Keep up your great work. Greetings from Germany.
I love how at the 30 minute mark when you assembled everything I thought ohhh wow!! that looks pretty good and very realistic and then you ere like ohh btw the base is nowhere near finished lol so much detail man amazing work!
Fantastic! I love the way you put foam inside the building! And if you want to use Oil Washes on foam Buildings, you can! Seal them with Acrylic Medium, Flat or Gloss! There's no pigment so it Seals Better and doesn't obscure detail. Just make sure it penetrates Every Crack and Crevasse!!! I usually airbrush it, but sometimes use a Brush, especially with Brick. So far I've done about 20 buildings with No Melting!!! And nazca247 is right, you are known to everyone! An Inspiration!!!
I only realised recently and i hope you have too but you are a pillar of the modelling community everyone knows you and follows your guides keep it up!

So true. How many figures and tanks do you think there are out there done copying NightShift techniques? I bet it's a lot. Lol
You are by FAR my favorite diorama creator on youtube not only for your detailed creation but also because your helpful commentary. Wish you all the best!

Loving the "in person" cameos you added man! Really makes the video production oddly feel more "professional" somehow. THANK YOU FOR WHAT YOU DO.!!!
Thanks! They were very refreshing, and it's something I'd love to keep adding in future videos as well :)

This is your best one yet! It's been really fun and rewarding to follow your journey in modelling. Thank you, uncle Nightshift!

Amazing work! After You painted the lower cobblestone sections, the "horror-look" was completely gone! It's a very nice and cosy scene!:)
This looks spectacular! There’s always a place for both sides of the diorama coin. Scratchbuilding gives you infinite freedom, but these commercial kits look amazing too. Love it at always, can’t wait for the next one!

Thanks
Just absolutely wow. I'm blown away by how good this looks.
Brilliant dio, and I for one like these longer videos, they are always worth the wait.
