Had an old man shoot next to my boat once, we were fishing around his dock and accused us of stealing his stuff and he says I own this water because he dug out part of his property for his dock. I'm like you own the land under the water not the water and my boat isn't even over your land. He called the cops and ended up getting arrested for discharging his weapon in our direction. Lol, backfired on him.
Me to in nc it gets bad young kids on these boats can’t drive them. They’re not standing 100 foot away from your boats. That’s why I report their boat numbers to the game warden. And video.

So permission is needed from owner, but for public bodies of water, if an owner owns the land at shore, he/she does not own the water itself and has no say in regulating who fishes or swims there
Yeah, in most states if it's navigable water you can go on it unless it's surrounded by private land. I had this happen once and the guy forgot about road easement and state owning the land adjacent to the road
in the first clip, this actually happened to me and right when they hit my boat the second time I pulled out my firearm and hopped on there boat and held them at gunpoint till the cops came and made them pass there boat keys over. I was charged with grand theft but beat the case cause i was also recording. so always carry!
Call the police, press charges, collect for property damage. The booking process at the county jail is pretty humiliating and as a retired CO I have friends there, lol. Threatening someone with a gun is a felony charge that I would gladly press charges.
From 3:00 to 6:00 I know this lake very well. I’ve had some of my best fishing days on this lake. I was born in the city that this lake lays. Barbwire,rope entanglements, barriers, and harassment have made it no longer fishable. The worst part is, the homeowners don’t even own, the water or the land under it. These guys were on the opposite side of the lake, out of any water ski boat path. I’m glad these guys had a GoPro recording this harassment. My pal and I have been through this as well. It’s hard work bassin’ in the PNW, but it is so rewarding when you catch a fatty. Tight lines! ♠️🇨🇦

I primarily aim for bow areas so they have no clue till sometimes weeks later. It's really funny when i see them back on the hard. They get real soft real quick.

Get their registration number snd turn them in. That is an inboard ski boat and those kids are in a small jon boat, that boat was upwords of 2000 poumds. People like that should be in jail. Another reason why it should be mandatory to take a boating course at minimum.

Third, as a part time kayak fisherman, I get it. You’re working your way to a spot and a bass boater cuts you off. There is a whole lake out there. Leave the bank/kayak fishermen room to fish. At least ask which way they are going.
My son and I fish tournaments he just purchased a $65000 bass boat in 2022 its his pride and joy he's 6'5 245 lbs it would be a absolutely horrible day for the folks that purposely rammed his boat with the intent to damage it , they very well would live the rest of their lives from a wheelchair watching the world go by with only one eye!
