My last outting a lady drove her pontoon between me and the bank I was casting at. There was plenty of room behind us... My buddy says hopefully she stirs something up and works out for us. Always better to have some pma.
Most bass fishermen are respectful of other people’s property. I know my son and I have gone into the water to retrieve baits that have on occasion got hung up on someone’s dock. We always try to say hello to the dock owners when we fish around their dock etc.. It goes a long way!
it’s hard sometimes to tell where people are casting. You cant always assume someone fishing the bank with all the technology these days. I crossed right over someone’s spot the other day thinking he was fishing the other way and he was pissed. I stopped and gave a big apology and he understood and was super nice about it.
I agree with how the first guy handled that situation. The only reason he ran over his spot is because he's an ass and doesn't typically get called out. In the second clip, the young fellas should've called the police and hung around. Fisherman harassment is illegal in almost every state. As far as Mike, he handled that shit
They had the harassment recorded. She was guilty before she jumped in the water. Definite charges if they would have pushed it. The footage of her jumping in the water would have made the case worse for her.
As long as fishermen don't assert their rights, people will continue to try to bully them. "Taking the high ground" is not the way to handle these folks. Bending to their demands or an apology is never enough, and they will always want more and more, once they have you on the run. Too many spineless "good guys".
For the past several years I have had to completely change the way I fish from fishing docks to fishing deep structure just because I have been harrased so many times by dock owners. You just can't win with the "entitled" people.

Correct, in the video I mentioned that he was casting toward the bank because the oncoming boat shouldn't have cut between him and the bank. You are correct, with live imaging you can't be sure that they aren't casting in any specific direction.
In the first video you can't tell what the water looked like behind the boat. So maybe he was running a creek channel the water could have been to shallow everywhere else

I always stay a long ways away when possible, sometimes in the shallow rivers around here you have no choice but all the fishermen understand that, if a boat is anchored in a run that’s only 18” deep, you can’t come off plane or you will never get back on top, but that’s only in the shallow rivers, certainly not something we would do in bigger bodies of water.
