If your going to have one as a pet I would suggest at least a 4’ L x 2’W x 3’ T with climbable walls. If you can go bigger then that they will use all The space you can give. That enclosure size is for a adult. Younger animals should be housed in smaller enclosures, that way it is easier to keep a eye on their health. Diet consists of mostly insects: crickets, roaches, grasshoppers, wax worms, silk worms. They can also eat pinkie mice,qual and scrambled eggs on occasion. Basking spot between 135-150 is good. They should also have some areas of the enclosure to cool down as well.
Instead of a heat pad you should be using a basking light. A uvb light is definitely a must. If you want you can message me on my instagram: exoticjohnmd and I can look at your setup and give you advice.
My girl is a picky eater also. never wants much to do with insects.
