Chinese Crocodile Lizard, The Best Pet Lizard?

  • The Chinese crocodile lizard (Shinisaurus crocodilurus) looks like a tiny crocodile with the head of a dinosaur. Seriously! It's like a tiny alternative to the caiman lizard. Could a lizard get any cooler? And more importantly, is the Chinese crocodile lizard the best pet lizard for you?

@@teresatanasi5143 I agree! Being able to look at a really cool animal that you'd love to have, but recognize that (at least for the time being) you can't offer the care it needs and thus don't get it, is what shows a good keeper! At the last reptile show I went to, I fell in love with a baby burmese python, but I definitely wouldn't have been able to offer the kind of care that a snake that gets so large would need, and thus I didn't get her! Eventually I'd love to own a burmie, but right now definitely isn't the right time.

@@papyrusthegreat457 eag eating snakes are cool and probably one of the best snakes you could keep. Drowbacks? when they are small they require very small eggs that you cant buy in most places and you probably will have to contact some canary owner, BUT that wont be a problem if you buy an adult. They are quite good with handling and have rather simple care overall. Eggs can be a pain in the ass if you buy a male (they are smaller) or juvenile eag eating snake, but if you buy adult female, its one of the best snakes EVER in my opinion.

Any chance you'd be open to reviewing Brazilian rainbow boas? They are my favorite snake! I also love Green Tree Pythons and would love to see a video on them!

They actually like cool temperature's mine go through UK winter with no heat at all and it can get as low as 10°c they are fine very inactive until temps warm up which makes them very easy to brumate and breed in the summer you want to keep them as cool as possible if you live somewhere tropical or subtropics
