I’ve noticed that most cultural / ethnical style of dances don’t come in ‘ certified ‘ training courses but those who have lived it culturally are able to share in a more non judgemental way for people who want to dance and move and be in a cultural experience. Thank you so much for sharing this !

I'm glad that you said you see things in a more nuanced perspective and that it depends on your goals. A lot of experienced dancers will tend to stick with the rules for their whole career. While there's nothing inherently wrong with this approach, it does tend to lead to gatekeeping, which is common not only in dance, but in any creative endeavor. It is important to keep the conversation and perspectives open, as any view can be valid.

Thank you so much for this fantastic inspiring video. I have been a dancer my whole life. Danced folklore ballet or character dances in Europe since 6 years old, moved to Canada, and decide to teach after a long break in small community since any activities were scarce . I wanted to give something to the children. Also studied 5 years RAD have a certificate till gr.5.
I was lucking confidence that I was not good enough. So Thank you so much for your video. It just gave so much inner piece. your encouragement is wonderful. I love my children in my ballet class, it is so wonderful. Lots of love to you and thank you for your wonderful work and talent. Liv

I have a bachelors in psychology, but now I want to be a dance psychologist! It's hard to find the correct training!

It’s still quite a new field so you can pave your own way. Also take inspiration from the dance psychologists already doing great work in the world there are some on IG 😘

Dance schools expect you to have a syllabus qualification even if you want to teach the technique without any specific school(such as RAD). I would like to teach ballet for beginners without entering them for exams and I have a Masters in Dance Science but I doubt that any dance school would hire me!

It is my dream to open a kids dance school! However at the time of choosing my career, it wasn’t really possible for me so I haven’t taken any formal examinations or qualifications. BUT I do have at least 17 years of dance experience in a variety of styles, do you think I would be okay to set up my dance school?

Is there a way to make your own established cerification program to train my dancers and to certify or qualify yourself within a niche dance style that lacks mainstream recognition and qualification. This would be amazing but I cannot find anything of this nature online.

That’s a great question! I don’t know either but wouldn’t that be great! If you do find out more please do let me know! What style do you train your dancer in? 🤗

Fantastic video thank you for being so clear so inspiring , my background is Dance came out of it and now this video really cleared alot of stuff from the past I had no support in past and struggled so much within myself " not being good enough " comes up so much in life even when we win competition s etc funny how this comes up again and again the critic is so over powering I started very late didn't have the classical body shape and had to fight within myself I was an excellent dancer lost my path and trying to get back to the creative fearless dancer ♥️
yes re Teaching Safety of students is THE priority very very important to avoid injuries very crucial
