Now living in my car wagon and saving for a van, I created window coverings. I use an arctic air fan I got at Walmart. You can put ice and water in a special compartment but I get lazy with that 😅 so I use a spray bottle filled with water, spritz myself down and stay quite cool. Especially spraying your t shirt holds the cool moisture and keeps the body cool. Everything seems to evaporate. Been in a heat wave in Illinois. Now it is June and getting hot and humid here. I retired this year now but still work part time as I want too. Fun learning this process of nomad life. Staying cool is important.
Hey Static, just wanted to say keep doin what your doing man. I started watching a bunch of van life channels during Covid. Most of them have gone by the wayside since then but yours has such a nice, relaxed vibe that it keeps me coming back. Nice walks, coffee, casual conversation. Perfect.
My heart is there in West Seattle my son and my grandgirls are there. Homeless people are abundant, very sad that there isn’t provisions for all the people who can’t afford the rents. Your van is perfect for there.
I too like Seattle. BTW, I've just put my finger on it! You are not the average guy because of your articulative way you talk and express yourself. Somewhere along the way in your man life you said the heck with the macho come off and decided instead to be comfortable adding as much vocabulary in a day that you can. Bravo 👏 !
It was unreasonably warm last week! That auto ferry you spotted from Lincoln Park is the triangle route that operates between: Fauntleroy, Vashon, & Southworth.
I had no ac once and used to wet my hair and even wet a hat or tshirt to stay cool. It works even better if when I blow a fan on myself with wet hair and clothing. 💨🌬💦💧🚰🧢👕 Also, cool wet cloths in arm pits or spraying face with water and fan on wet face.
You do so well with self care. Its interesting to see how you work through the challenges of life living as a minimalist living in your Static Camper Van lifestyle. Have your best life for you!

Hi Scott, took a chance and happy to see your on. Your really knowledgeable on electrical stuff. It's a rainstorm all day here on City Island, Bronx NY 10464 and very humid, hot. You look like the weather is hot but the coffee looks really good. Someone told me to keep batteries in the frig when it's hot. At the end of the day your van is cozy. Oh God, for real....I like the sofa and chair. How is Mexican food. Is it spicy. Ooh, cool food truck. Does running the fan hurt the van battery? You do have to know so much when your in a van. Enjoy your day, thanks for sharing😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊❤.😊😊

Very nice relaxing video, glad to see you back up here. It was 95 today in Wenatchee WA. The next 10 days supposed to cooler. Seattle is beautiful this time of year.
That sandwich looked really tasty! That’s my favourite mayo and I’ve use Spike since forever; it’s especially good on poached or soft boiled eggs. Seattle is looking really inviting. In 2009 on one of my winter tours of the lower 48, I slept in a van on the east side of West Seattle in January with a magical view of the city. May have to do that again! Thanks for the wonderful video!
The view took my breath away, made me think of a day when I was in the park on Pallia Island in SC .. I just about cry remember that day when my world was at peace..that was a long time ago..thank you..
Taco trucks, coffee stops, and strolls along the beach a journey enjoyed thrpugh n through. Great travelog video and new pace in life. Isopropyl alcohol and lavender oil spray, thank you for the idea. What a wonderful ending
Great video Scott, the Mexican food looks great, I’m terrible in the heat the temperature in the uk atm is mid 60s but getting warmer this week, take care x
Oh I see the swamp cooker is like the arctic air that I have. I see your fan is more powerful than the one I have. Still spritzing yourself with water really helps 😊
My mouth is watering over that Mexican food…the coffee… and those views. I need to visit Seattle one of these days. Have wanted to for years. Wish I had before it got so big. Thanks for your videos! ❤
Bro if your gonna get Mexican plssss I'm begging pls don't get it in Seattle you need to go more east for Mexican food. I'm Mexican and when i had Mexican food in Seattle it was all mid meh or bad
I hope the heat doesn't get any worse for you. I have been dreaming of sunshine and warmth. It was overcast, cold and windy here today and I wore three layers to walk the dog. 🥶 We are hoping to take the van for some vancamping in a week or so and chase some sunshine. We would like to explore central Oregon some more. We just loved it the last time we were there. I'm hoping to see Mendocino this summer too. Coffee icecream is my absolute favorite btw! Oh, and for Mother's Day my daughter and her husband gave me a bag of light roast coffee and a Bigfoot mug! 😂❤ Enjoyed your video and I'm looking forward to the next.
@Static CamperVan The last time we were in central Oregon it was the end of November and sooooo cold! We still hiked as much as we could, but we would love to see it without snow on the ground or frozen ponds. 😁

Meanwhile over in eastern Washington, we hit 91F today. Have been working on insulating the new shop esp on the unshaded western side. I really love USB rechargeable fans to keep the air moving when paired with the Maxair fan. Since the Maxair fan is squeaking, the gunk that the brushes leaves on the housing needs to be cleaned out. Thankfully, Ray Outfitted put out a video on how to do just that.

It would be very cool to run into you on alki beach. You're right Starbucks is good but there are some better tasting coffees. Don't forget pike place market for good fish. Keep on keeping on brother!

Scott, I don't know if this is helpful about your fan but, thought I'd run it by you. I have a USB fan that I run all the time. Initially, it didn't have a problem but, then started stopping after awhile when I started leaving it plugged in when the rechargeable battery quit recharging. Turns out the wire is getting too hot and it cuts itself off. Nothing wrong with the fan or its switch for different speeds, it's just that the wire overheats. If I feel the wire is hot and turn it off until it's completely cool, it works fine. Same thing if it cuts itself off. I'm not good at electrical stuff, but if I was, I'd rewire the USB cable with thicker wire. As it is, I'll just have to give it a break from time to time as it has a proprietary rechargeable battery that I can't find to replace.
I should have been more clear. There isn’t any problem with the fan or the wiring. The problem is with the potentiometer on the controller. I could replace the potentiometer but because I would need to buy a soldering iron, it’s less expensive to replace the whole controller. A new controller will be less than twenty dollars.
It's unusual heat in a lot of areas. I'm in Minnesota right now and it normally doesn't get hot until July/August but it was 80 today and it's supposed to be hot periodically for the next week or so.
