We bought a 2013 built model brand new in Jan 2014. No problems and still drives well. Also bought is the rear spoiler which looks cute. Very happy with it.
God this guy is depressing. Most of the stuff is literally generally wear and tear on a old car with high milage. He's talking about Apple Car play on a car using 2008 tech, he's basically comparing this car in his head to a 2022 car 🤣
My wife is looking at one and we took it for a test drive today, seemed ok. But after watching this guy's review and reading the comments of people with no issues I'm inclined to buy it. His "opinion" was way too biased not as entertaining as he thought he was being.
I have a 2011 J10 2 ltr petrol with cvt transmission. I bought it at 60 thousand km and now has 160 thousand km on the clock. It has been a great vehicle and economical to run. No issues with body panels or interior. I have replaced both rear shocks and cv boot seals. Also the clock spring needed replacing at 140 thou km as the airbag warning light stayed on and the fault was traced to the clock spring in the steering wheel . It gets a regular oil sevice every 10,000km. Uses no oil between changes. Its important to replace the cvt fluid as scheduled at 90,000km intervals. When I update vehicles I will get another one.
I have a 2013 1.6 dci qashqai +2 tekna. Besides routine servicing and some discs and pads and lower front arms I’ve had no problems. 160,000km, still on the original clutch. Non of the problems listed here. Been more reliable than the mercedes w204 that preceded it.
I purchased a new 2012 ST CVT Dualis. It is 12 years old and has done 116 thou km. The only issue I've had is replaced the engine mounts and the handle broke off the tailgate. I purchased clip kit from ebay for $26.00 and managed to repair the handle instead of replacing it.
Weird that you have so many complaints. I have owned two European spec Qashqais, a 2007 diesel 1.5 manual and I currently still drive a 2013 petrol automatic 1.6. I have had zero problems with either, everything is solid and in fantastic condition, I have never had any engine or other issues with it. Where are the Australian versions built ? I do agree that the CVT gearbox is not the most fun to drive but if you are a calm driver you should be ok.
Same here I've got a 2010 petrol, it's done 135,000 miles always past MOT I get it serviced every year. Love my car. This bloke chatting a load of crap 17mins of my life I'll never get back
Hi i have a Nissan qashqai J10 2013 1.6 DCI I bought it brand new and owned it and driven it 180000km with zero problems. Only normal wear and tear replacements and the seats and infotainment is perfect I bought new maps and updated myself. All service since after warrant done by me it is flawless. Honestly I feel these jokers got money to badmouth a car sold in 3 million produced and I have driven the newer ones also they are amazing. You cannot compare 10 year old car model with new releases. Really crap review please don’t listen to them. These are amazing cars with no problem also no timing belt but a timing chain so really low cost and maintenance what a bad biased review.
I find your videos too critical, they may scare people off of certain cars. Like how can the Subaru XV be so bad yet feature in your top 5 SUV's? The only major thing I can fault the dualis/qashqai on is the gutless 2ltr engine. Other than that, its a great family vehicle.
I've had 4 of these bought new in 2010 and 2011 and the only common fault you mentioned was the bit coming off the back boot. I bought replacement bits to attach it for a few dollars online and repaired two of them after they were 9 years old. You say there are better options, but what?
my nissab 1.6 diesel 130 hp 320 newton from 2012 has driven over 200,000 km without major repairs 17-18 km per liter of diesel. It has been abused with many short trips > 10 km on salty roads and humid and changing climate - 25 to +35 degrees Celsius. It is still presentable with no visible rust or discoloration. Wear parts replaced: 2 wheel bearings 1 bearing ball and all brake pads. due to the driving style, the egr has also been changed. Spare parts for this car are cheap in Europe. for me it has been a relatively cheap car to buy and own. It's not perfect, but ok. Denmark
I loved my 2 dualis’s. Loved the top view reverse camera and how quiet the road noise was - couldn’t hear much from outside at all. It was a little sluggish uphill and in one of them the tail handle was starting to come off. Had them both for 4 yrs or so.
Have been driving a 2.0 dci for over two years now. No issues, just changed oils and filters when the time came. The engine is one of the best diesel engines with commonrail according to another TH-cam channel. It is not a performance car but serves well as a family vehicle.
I have one. 2011 Qashqai 1.6. Only one real issue with it is that my wife crashed it two times already. Is it boring? Yes. Is 117BHP engine weak also yes. It's however quite non-problematic car with cheap parts (except for lamps, but that's normal) and quite cheap to maintain. We use it quite heavily (at least 30k km/year) since we got it 3 years ago, and we actually like it.
We have a 2009 Dualis 2wd 6 speed manual Ti model we have had from new, the only thing that has gone wrong with it, is the concentric slave cylinder for the clutch, the gearbox had to be removed to replace it, no problems since. I personally change oil, and filter every 5000kms.
Wow that unusual a manual I think manual only accounted for about 10% when sold new . would rather it in manual as there jatco crapco CVT is to risky to own. too many horror story of those transmission failure

I don't get it, I am from Romania and in Europe we know that the 1.5 DCI engines are one of the most reliable Diesels ever. Also great fuel economy. 1.6 DCI comes second. Yet here here is said to avoid them.
The 1.6 dci is a great engine but has a couple of issues. For one, because of the tight fit in the Qashqai engine bay you basically need to remove the engine to replace the water pump. The EGR valve gets clogged and can be a pain to replace (though I did it myself with no problems in about half an hour). The exhaust valve flap - also on the 1.5 dci - often seizes up and needs to be replaced, by cutting the old one out of the exhaust pipe. And the timing chain is not lifetime but has a replacement interval of 300,000 km, and is a pain to replace because Nissan put the lock hole behind the starter motor, thus requiring the removal of the front of the car (it's a lot easier to replace if you trust your luck and don't do this step). The turbo is hard to access if it goes bad, but on the plus side the glow plugs are simple to replace (keeping in mind the usual caveats) as they are all on the front of the engine.
This presenter is a giant snub, this car at least the European variants are well built, safe and reliable. This is self evident by they fact that nissan has sold millions of j10 qashqai. The presenter perhaps expected a rolls Royce quality in a cheap family mini suv. Nissan used a genuine leather on the seats but he doesn't want to believe his eyes, His demeanour, language and vomit gesture is terrible
Wow, I'm guessing you won't be starting my fan club anytime soon. We can't comment on the Euro versions as, well we're not in Europe, but as far as the versions we have here, there are countless reports and articles easily available to read online reporting all of the issues mentioned in the video. I should mention, we did hours and hours of research, read countless consumer satisfaction reports and reached out to various mechanics and Nissan technicians to gather the information for the video, and what you watched was the culmination of all that research, far from just my opinion. Nissan did sell millions of these things but a product being popular when new has zero correlation to its longevity and reliability after years of use and thousands of kilometres travelled. I didn't for a second expect a $10,000 Nissan to feel anything like a $1mil Rolls Royce. However, I hoped it would feel at least comparable to this cars competition from the likes of Toyota, Subaru, Kia, Hyundai, Mazda etc etc. If that is genuine leather, it's far from a good quality leather and feels more like genuine vinyl. As far as my demeanour, language and vomit gesture goes, you're entitled to your opinion but feel free to work your butt off for zero money to create something like what we've created with ReDriven, spend the hundreds of hours researching, writing, filming and editing the videos and then post them on TH-cam so I can eloquently let you know what I think of you. - AK
Nah the local car journos and enthusiasts also hate these things, at least here in Finland. Quashqais are popular among people who don't like or understand cars and want a cheap and nasty crossover to get from point A to B.
To be fair just buy it, I got one the only problem is it’s speakers, but we can fix that! The only difference is that I got the 1.2L none of these problems have come to notice
Yes, of course you should buy it if it is 'free to a good home'..... so if the transmission gives up,,,, you can make money when you sell it to the wreaker. Bottom line is as he says "better alternatives for your money"
I have a Qasqhai 2013 and it is Superb on handling. I do not believe what you have said about this car, these are minor issues that could happen to any car, but remember maintenance is key. Compare this car with a RAV of the same year and you will be glad you bought it. I would replace this car with a later version.
I have today taken a 2010 Qashqai Tekna 2.0 petrol for a test drive and absolutely loved it ! It has full service history and is a 2 owner car. I am buying it and picking it up on Friday 05/05/2023.
The only thing I agree with is the bad position of the hand brake, everything else is just an aging cars problems. You hare just comparing an old model with newer models.
I have owned a 2010 Urban Black leather AWD for 3 years and I have had few issues. The door lock stopped working for a day and the remote key battery needed replacing. Trim rattles and squeaks are annoying. Other than that nothing major. I have owned 13 cars so far including many Toyotas, and this has had the least amount of problems.
I am struggling to understand how there are so many faults with this car. I am an owner of a 1.6 Petrol 2011 model and the car does not make noises, absorbs road anomalies gracefully, i have no paint chip issues or damages to the plastic and the seats are comfortable for my height both front and rear (i am 1.83 m). Road noise is minimum, and there is no wind noise when i travel. In fact i travel at 140 km/h in a very relaxed manner and the engine does not produce the noise that my megane coupe does (14 16V 2001). The only part i can agree with you is that its acceleration is not instant it takes a while and only when it builds on RPM ( > 3000) it shows its power (the Megane in this section shines: it pulls up instantly at the moment you press the pedal). Finally my interior does not have failing bits and no plastic is moving back and forth. I suspect that the owner of the car you tested was not very careful, maybe she was abusing it...
@@VahidBehravanVahid-Behravan but he criticized many other sections besides CVTs and Automatics. All observations i did are for sections that are common for all Qashqais both manual and CVTs/automatic. (plastics, absorbers, road noise)
My qashqai has only ever broke down once and the boost pipe cost £20 and I fixed it myself, the boot handle did fall off and a 3d printed one from amazon fixed it perfectly for £25, the main issue this car really has is the rust it gets on the chassis and the heat shield rots away, other than that mines been a tank, 1.5 dci that cruises solid at 115mpg
Had mine since nearly new, its a 1.6 petrol J10 model, 10 years old done over 90,000 miles now. Had a new clutch recently and a few other front end repairs, wheel, bearings etc. overall it's been super reliable, its left left me stranded at the side of the road. yes it boring, not much fun to drive and sluggish. but i'd take reliability over all of that.
I still own this qashqai since 2010 , its one of the best cars , i still traveling on it more than 1000 km with a rate of 3 to 4 times per month, very strong and reliable with fuel consumption of 10 liters per 100 km , its done till now over 200 k kilometers
Great comprehensive review, but the blame on Renault is just uncalled for. Renault doesn't use CVTs and that's the biggest thing that goes wrong - it's all Nissan's design and choice that went into it, through their subsidiary Jatco. Really wasn't necessary to mention Renault. I've found their models last long, and that corresponds to them placing halfway versus Nissan's near last place in the 2021 WhatCar reliability survey. Again - of Nissan's own making. I believe that you completely glossed over the very unique proposition the +2 offers in being a compact "7 seater" that has a large boot as a 5 seater, and 2 extra seats when really needed. There's NOTHING like it, nothing when it was new either. The engine paired with CVT is shit though, and the whiny drone it made going uphill tells me it may be headed for failure. Also a bit odd that you lumped the Megane and Clio together with the 370Z. You're falling for common misconceptions thinking Renault and Nissan are conjoined at the hip when it comes to actually producing each of their own model lines.
I have a 2011 J10 Dualis K bought 2nd hand for $5k. Love it. It's a great car. I do agree with the boot handles breaking!mine did, and I see loads of them around which are taped back on with duct tape...but apart from that it's great!
This car has awesome fuel economy, great AWD performance in snow but it is small inside, and the engine used to almost dying on my family when we went up a hill with the AC on 😅. If a puny engine, lackluster performance, low built quality are not a problem, it is a great car for a small family. We replaced it with a Volkswagen Tiguan, the Tiguan felt like a luxurious tank by comparison.
Owner for 10 years, Rear door handle breaking off, but its less than $30. Fabric seats tear easily Radio LCD dimming Seatbelt sensor cable got broken Clutch replacement Not the most powerful, but not the worst Mine is a manual petrol, and the rest of the issues you mentioned I have never experienced them. Been the longest car I have owned, I would say its been reliable. No engine issues, or oil leaks. Would I recomend to someone, you bet your sweet ...
Well done on your channel, mate. Really like the format and content. It's great to get in to the detail. It's also great when you make note of when the dealers/importers supported customers when the cars with issues had warranty issues.
Wow. Sounds like you drove a lemon or I have an amazing one. I've had a 2nd hand 2010 Ti for about 6 years and I dont treat it well. It's underpowered, a bit boring and the drivers side window stopped working, but its otherwise super comfortable and mechanically reliable. Doesn't like towing a huge amount off road but it will. I'm finding it hard to justify buying something else.
One thing I dislike about this channel is sometimes it feels like they hear specific horror stories and speak about the issues like it affects all cars of the same model. It's like saying "This car sucks because I only spoke to people that had a bad experience with them".
12:08, dualis in the background driveway 😂 I still own a 2013 TS 6spd manual. I've driven 800kg with a 350 Chevy. This car has all the practically and fun without being overbearing. Just hit 90k kms in mine. The interior door handle trim fell apart within 20k. The boot handle fell off at 50k. Original brake pads changed at 70k. 10 years old and it feels like maybe 5-10 hp fell out the tailpipe. Mine has super low km for its age, but i like the car. Hasnt had a major failure in 10 years.
The Europe spec doesn’t seem to be anywhere near as bad as the ones sold in the East - the former have held up pretty well in comparison. Probably also helps that in Europe most have manual transmissions.
wow, I've had very few of those complaints for the majority of my 2009 CVT FWD petrol Dualis' life. She's reaching 404,000 km's now, so there's a few issues - the suspension I replaced and is a little harder now, the CVT is going, but that happens. The power's always been decent, the CVT hasn't complained too much, and I came from a Ford Fairlane NL 4L straight 6 I have noticed the tailgate handle assembly DOES break and a lot of Dualis's are getting around with duct-taped assembly and the rear taillight issue DOES suck every now and then, especially when it drops your cruise control out because voltage is bleeding into your break system and tripping it XD All in all, my Dualis has been great. Looks like your mechanic is green screened onto a workshop background
@@sondrehagg725 yup 1.6 Should also be noted that I had a shudder that I assume was my CVT on its way out, but turned out to be one of the bearings in the inner cv shaft (if memory serves) was squished and needed replacing - now runs VERY smooth again =) and she's up to 420,000 kms
I loathed this reviewer's forensic review, I had to turn him off. That Dualis he is reviewing is an old car these days. I bought my Dualis in February 2012 and still drive it long distances every day as I use it for my job. I've never had a major issue with it. There are a couple of issues but nothing that need immediate attention. I have made sure it gets regular services. Whiles living in Europe for 12 months recently, I notice that Qashqais are very popular which does indicate, the issues the reviewer mentions seem to be over-the-top.
@@ReDriven of course. I realise that the cars are old. My point is that I felt the reviewer reviewed the car old car (this is first one I have watched) as if it is a car! Of course, there paint would be flakey and parts would rattle a little. My Dualis has many more ageing defects than the one he reviewed but it is still the best, most comfortable, most well-built car I have ever owned, since i gained my licence in 1968!
I got the 2012 version but it's just for A to B so not to bad but have had to change brakes due to rattling and also had to paint the side bumpers cause truth be told these things grey out so quickly
I can see you definitely don't like the qashqai, but your negative reviews are your opinions. I personally enjoyed driving mine for the past 13YEARS and still love it. I own other cars as well. Are you comparing with the Mercedes?
It’s less an opinion and more a comment on the broad range of issue that seem to affect the Qashqai. It’s great that your experience with one Qashqai has been faultless and we constantly say that just because issues are common, it’s doesn’t mean there aren’t perfect examples out there. The video is designed to pull information from a variety of sources, many of which report myriad issues with the Qashqai. We’re not denying your experience, we can both be right. The Qashqai on the whole can have a raft of issues, meanwhile your specific example might be perfect, it’s not an either-or situation.
Bought this car seceond hand a few months ago and realised the tailgate handle was being held on by tape. Literally googled " nissan dualis+2 2011 tailgate replacement part" and in five minutes I'd ordered a brand new one off Ozparts for $48 plus shipping. Took the car in for an inspection and also to put the new part on and it only cost $70 for labour and inspection. This guy is talking rubbish about it being hard to find and costing hundreds of dollars. One of the best thing about these cars is how cheap and easy it is to find parts for them.
@@TwistedDonners Mate we LOVE WA. I was there shooting with Nissan prior to these crazy times and explored the Margaret River region and just fell for the place.
My family used to have a 2016 qashqai and had to get both front doors realigned twice within the first year of ownership, the transmission was jerky and the door cards creaked. My aunt’s nissan X-trail had to have a transmission replacement at 56000 kms. Modern nissans are not (in my opinion) quality cars.
I am addicted to your channel. To think I nearly brought a 2013 Qashgai a few weeks ago. Instead found a mint condition 2010 Toyota Aurion Sportivo ZR6. This would be the first car since my 1997 E38 7 series to put a smile on my face when I drive it. Definitely a hidden gem with stunning performance along with Toyota reliability.
Nissan made really good cars in the 90s, that was their golden period where they had gotten over the rust issues of the older ones, build quality and reliability were high. They seemed to have gone downhill post 2005... around the time of the Renault merger.
Very strange never had any issues they are a great car very reliable I was surprised how good the 1.5 diesel was. Hardly said a good thing about the car...
I actually like the look of these but built in uk meant maybe lacks usual quality as these are a hatch on stilts they had a foot in both camps - have heard they can suffer oil leaks and CVT issues yet suspension was described as well sorted and the Ti L AWD is a desirable used buy imho compared to what else was around at the same time :)
Thank you mate for the awesome video and im glad to know that i wasn't the only one that have to deal with this problems. I've got a Nissan dualis 2008. 70k + milage on it. 2 months later, *Ceiling starts fallout *side doors carpet starts to come off *back boot handle broke off *driver side key hole keep falling off *side mirror broke off when shutting door(not too hard slamming) *changed all spark plugs and ignition coils *change front pushes 2nd time after 4months from the first ones *etcccccc 😅
i owned a ex-display 2011 Nissan Qashqai 1.2L petrol with manual gearbox,... it was uhm yh mehh, nice at first, definite step up in my opinion from the 06 focus I had. Under powered, so get used to taking your time. Owning one at 21yrs old, you get used to being gawked at by older women and even police pulling you over thinking they're helping an old man. Plenty of room for your mcdonald's after work though. in the 2yrs i owned it, I had work done on the tracking [about 4 times], steering column itself, wing mirrors not folding or adjusting, replaced the the handle for the boot twice, rattling noises, a leaky door or two one of which somehow was dislodged despite never being touched. In terms of safety they're safe in my opinion because you can't go fast enough to be in any real danger [had a car accident didn't feel a single thing, the other person not so lucky]. The light steering is common, and is a Nissan thing in general [like my juke].
Hence why we source our information from reliability and consumer reports that cover thousands of examples rather than just one particular car. Even the worst cars will have examples that are faultless owned by very satisfied drivers but unfortunately, after many many hours of research, these Nissans didn't fair so well. - AK
Driving a wet sponge... lol I'm just confused. Edit: I do agree with the black tail boot trim. I see plenty of dualis on the road with the broken trim.
Love this channel, will you ever be reviewing Mercedes Benz w212 coupe or CLS c219? Id love to see it! Keep recording, this channel will be huge one day!
Nissan CVT's are pretty bad for reliability, but the ones used by other companies such as Toyota aren't much better, it's best to avoid CVT transmissions altogether.

This model era was neither here nor there but the newer ones are a much better car. People should look into a newer version they’ll be pleasantly surprised
You need to realize your bias is not endearing. My Dualis is awesome and only just upgrading now after 12 years, one owner and 2 large dogs in and out of it all the time. Yes some of these issues have developed over the years but the experience has been fine. You need to go and drive your sportscar and leave the regular drivers to their world. Yes very depressing. Won't be subscribing when there are so many review channels out there with a true balance in their approach. Thanks Ang
It’s not bias if we critique every car the same. Every car is researched in the same way. We look to owners groups, forums, customer satisfaction surveys, recalls, mechanic reports, as well as our mechanics network along with his personal experience of being a mechanic for over 30 years. We don’t doubt there are people out there who have faultless experience with a car that’s otherwise fairly unreliable. But, just because their experience differs from what we find through our research, that doesn’t mean there’s a bias present on our end. A bias would suggest we’ve gone into the video going “we really don’t like this car, so we’re going to create the narrative that they’re unreliable”. That simply isn’t the case here.
Nice review In depth I wanna buy this vehicle but you're making me change my mind 😂 Especially with the middle seat issue Can't you pull up the two front seats a little to give a little extra space ? Or something ?m

Don't know too early to tell they still use the CVT if they sorted out the CVT failures you'll have to wait 7y or 140000km to see . unless Nissan is going offer a 10y warranty on CVT stay away far better options out there
@@thuggy67 I understand the scepticism, but I can assure you we're never incentivised monetarily or otherwise to say anything about any particular car. Always have, always will.
A better way to end the review, rather than the bloopers reel, would have been to suggest what alternatives were out there! That would have been genuinely helpful. The video format is great, but you seemed inredibly biased against the Dualis and there was very little "impartiality" shown in your presentation. It was almost you just hated it and wanted to trash it, rather than present pros & cons and helpful information! This review became pointless once I read the positive comments from owners! They only said the XV was bad with a CVT. It's still a more reliable and tougher car than the Qashqai.
I've had 4 of these bought new in 2010 and 2011 and the only common fault you mentioned was the bit coming off the back boot. I bought replacement bits to attach it for a few dollars online and repaired two of them after they were 9 years old. You say there are better options, but what?
The reason they called it a Dualis in Oz was with the Australian accent the original sounds like Cash Cow !
my nissab 1.6 diesel 130 hp 320 newton from 2012 has driven over 200,000 km without major repairs 17-18 km per liter of diesel.
Had them both for 4 yrs or so.
very sluggish, especially the +2. But I loved our Dualis+2m almost 200,000kms with not an issue.
Have been driving a 2.0 dci for over two years now. No issues, just changed oils and filters when the time came. The engine is one of the best diesel engines with commonrail according to another TH-cam channel. It is not a performance car but serves well as a family vehicle.
And the 2.0 dci is 100% Renault
What about the 2.0 petrol version?I drive only 10.000-15.000km în one year and I would like petrol variant SUV)
These cars are amazing, I have tried others but this is the best. This review is void I don't know what your talking about
We have a 2009 Dualis 2wd 6 speed manual Ti model we have had from new, the only thing that has gone wrong with it, is the concentric slave cylinder for the clutch, the gearbox had to be removed to replace it, no problems since.

It's the same engine in the dacia duster which has got very good reviews in terms of reliability
One guy standing in a garage saying to avoid them. Some data to back it up would be good.
Would u advise me to buy it?
nicklunness6862 do you like it?
@@kimmycare yes but I don't want anything that going to give me any problems
The only thing I agree with is the bad position of the hand brake, everything else is just an aging cars problems. You hare just comparing an old model with newer models.
I bought a 2012 Ti-L +2 model second hand. No sports car but Only 65000 on clock. Regularly serviced but does the job 👍🏼

Im thinking about buying qashqai 2012 1,5 dci now. Would you recommend?
Did you buy?@@tomaswidding9532
Please help me,what are the qashqai variants without CVT???I want to buy a qashqai, but without cvt
Yep. This channel hates ALL French cars for some reason.
@@kevinpicur7739 Buy a manual.. Or, the diesel variants run a conventional auto.
I have a 2011 J10 Dualis K bought 2nd hand for $5k. Love it. It's a great car. I do agree with the boot handles breaking!mine did, and I see loads of them around which are taped back on with duct tape...but apart from that it's great!
Same 😄 tap with tape but i am planning to replace from scrap yard
This car has awesome fuel economy, great AWD performance in snow but it is small inside, and the engine used to almost dying on my family when we went up a hill with the AC on 😅. If a puny engine, lackluster performance, low built quality are not a problem, it is a great car for a small family. We replaced it with a Volkswagen Tiguan, the Tiguan felt like a luxurious tank by comparison.
What about the 4wd? Tell me which one to buy bc am planning to buy one

Mine is a manual petrol, and the rest of the issues you mentioned I have never experienced them. Been the longest car I have owned, I would say its been reliable.
No engine issues, or oil leaks.
Would I recomend to someone, you bet your sweet ...
I agree I have owned mine 9 years love it. Longest I owned a car before that 6 years with a Nissan micra
Well done on your channel, mate. Really like the format and content. It's great to get in to the detail. It's also great when you make note of when the dealers/importers supported customers when the cars with issues had warranty issues.
Thanks so much mate. - AK
I actually like the look of the front
I have a Quashqi and I think the cars are amazing.
Very reliable with loads of space - highly recommended.
12:08, dualis in the background driveway 😂
I still own a 2013 TS 6spd manual.
The power's always been decent, the CVT hasn't complained too much, and I came from a Ford Fairlane NL 4L straight 6
I have noticed the tailgate handle assembly DOES break and a lot of Dualis's are getting around with duct-taped assembly and the rear taillight issue DOES suck every now and then, especially when it drops your cruise control out because voltage is bleeding into your break system and tripping it XD
All in all, my Dualis has been great.
Looks like your mechanic is green screened onto a workshop background

I loathed this reviewer's forensic review, I had to turn him off. That Dualis he is reviewing is an old car these days. I bought my Dualis in February 2012 and still drive it long distances every day as I use it for my job. I've never had a major issue with it. There are a couple of issues but nothing that need immediate attention. I have made sure it gets regular services. Whiles living in Europe for 12 months recently, I notice that Qashqais are very popular which does indicate, the issues the reviewer mentions seem to be over-the-top.
We do used car reviews. Every car on the channel is an old car these days.
@@ReDriven of course. I realise that the cars are old. My point is that I felt the reviewer reviewed the car old car (this is first one I have watched) as if it is a car! Of course, there paint would be flakey and parts would rattle a little.
The Qashqai on the whole can have a raft of issues, meanwhile your specific example might be perfect, it’s not an either-or situation.
what would be an alternative car for this budget?
Bought this car seceond hand a few months ago and realised the tailgate handle was being held on by tape. Literally googled " nissan dualis+2 2011 tailgate replacement part" and in five minutes I'd ordered a brand new one off Ozparts for $48 plus shipping. Took the car in for an inspection and also to put the new part on and it only cost $70 for labour and inspection. This guy is talking rubbish about it being hard to find and costing hundreds of dollars. One of the best thing about these cars is how cheap and easy it is to find parts for them.
Could you do a should you buy for the Hyundai Getz?

My family used to have a 2016 qashqai and had to get both front doors realigned twice within the first year of ownership, the transmission was jerky and the door cards creaked. My aunt’s nissan X-trail had to have a transmission replacement at 56000 kms. Modern nissans are not (in my opinion) quality cars.
I'm surprised you guys didn't mention about the A/C failing. It seems like allot of later Nissan are prone to A/C compressor failure.
I am addicted to your channel. To think I nearly brought a 2013 Qashgai a few weeks ago. Instead found a mint condition 2010 Toyota Aurion Sportivo ZR6. I'm torn between this and ASX both 2011 models. Thank you.
Im borrowing one and its quite reliable apart from if you want to go up hills, otherwise its alright.
Just back from 3 months in Europe where I was driving a Qashqai, possibly the noisiest car I've ever driven. Road noise was deafening
I actually like the look of these but built in uk meant maybe lacks usual quality as these are a hatch on stilts they had a foot in both camps - have heard they can suffer oil leaks and CVT issues yet suspension was described as well sorted and the Ti L AWD is a desirable used buy imho compared to what else was around at the same time :)

i owned a ex-display 2011 Nissan Qashqai 1.2L petrol with manual gearbox,... it was uhm yh mehh, nice at first, definite step up in my opinion from the 06 focus I had.
Ummm, where in Australia is it called something other than Qashqai? I have never seen the name Dualis here. This must refer only to really old models.

Nice review

@@thuggy67 I understand the scepticism, but I can assure you we're never incentivised monetarily or otherwise to say anything about any particular car.
It also seems weird to suggest someone bothered to pay us to roast their car. We borrow these cars from everyday owners, there's no third parties and no extra stakeholders who could possibly benefit from us lying about a car.
People buy crap cars in droves all the time. Always have, always will.
@@ReDriven I understand brother.
Just that your mechanic said nothing good about this . Do you have any Toyota suv review ?
@@thuggy67 We sure do! Currently we've reviewed a Toyota Kluger, but many more in the pipeline. Stay tuned!
I am surprised Nissan does not have sedans like Maxima and Altima in Australia.
We had the Maxima years ago and the Altima until quite recently but neither sold at all well.
Instead of helping me consider which way we are going with choosing a used car, this review just wasted 17 minutes!
please do a video on the E39 M5...

Owners groups, customer satisfaction reports, forums, specialist mechanics, along with Jim’s experience of over 30 years and his network.
These things would give a Craptiva a run for it’s money.
I don’t agree I love mine each too their own.
