Class is accepting the pain of someone you love making a decision you don't agree with and still having the poise and grace to put on a positive face and say nothing but positive things about the person. Magic and Jordan are very close friends and it’s very interesting that both of them have chosen to sell their stakes in the NBA as they know the future in that sport is bleak. Viewership down for Primetime by 35% since 2017-18 season. Also Iowa vs. Louisville in the Elite 8 averaged (Women’s Basketball) more viewers than any game on ESPN during the regular season is crazy. Their savvy investors(Magic now a Billionaire and Jordan at 4.3 Billion) they see what’s coming.
The NBA numbers are down but you have to understand you have a generation of viewers that have more choices than ever. Streaming, social media highlights and lack of attention span to sit and watch a 2 hour plus game. NBA like baseball is not going anywhere. If anything they will have to just change the business model to cater to a new generation of viewers.
