Would you consider making a video on how to remove that fuel tank out and change the fuel filter on this mower? I’m very interested on seeming that and thank you for all your videos. You have taught me a lot and I appreciate every one of your video!!
Next time I have one in I plan on doing a video on the code reader for these EFI engines. I will also see if we need to do a fuel filter I absolutely will do the video on that. I have been waiting for a few months now on one to come in but we work on a handful so hopefully soon. Thanks for watching!
I’m glad that it wasn’t the ECM. If I bought an EFI equipped mower it wouldn’t be this one or any other MTD brands. If I did it would be a Kawi but that’s a big “if”. At least someone is taking care of it. I can’t imagine what an ECM would cost for this mower or if it’s even available.
The Kawasakis really are nice but with all the electronics I don't think these engines belong on lawn equipment at all. I have seen several with varying issues and they are only a few years old with very low hours. The last one I did had a burnt wire at the engine connection that needed repaired. The wiring really is a pain to find issues with if it is an intermittent issue. Thanks for watching!
A lot of great information. I like how you check the basic things first. I like switching out battery hardware. 1/4-20 3/4 long sst with washers on both sides. Won’t dig into posts and won’t corrode.
Exactly what I do in most cases, normally I don't even bother saving the old bolts if I take them off. These bolt/nut pairs they put on seem to work pretty well and were in good shape so I left them instead. Thanks for watching!
Thanks, work on these, when lucky, usually they are a lot older models, at a dealership up in the cold north, Canada. Wish they were all that simple and just shows sometime it can be an easy fix, you just have to know where to look. Tried finding your spark checker online, but it seems to be sold out everywhere.
Yeah, figured this would be a ton of tracing down but found it pretty quick for the type of issue it was. The problem comes when you can't get it to act up and don't really know what's not working when it will turn over but won't start. Thanks for watching!
www.rcpw.com/trillium-spc-7200-spark-checkr-engine-spark-tester-ignition-analyzer-for-small-engines-motorcycles-and-more/ looks like they have them in stock
Well worth every penny. I paid an unreasonable amount (around $120 each from Australia if I remember right) for a couple of them when they stopped making them under the previous name years ago. You do not know what you lost till it is gone! Thanks for watching!
The heat in West Texas has been hell on the efi system and it can’t take the heat, after a hour your done for the day and pray it starts again or you out big bucks 😢😢😢
Interesting! I haven't heard anything about this but am interested what is going on? They not tuned right for high heat situations getting too much fuel or what?
I’ve been having the same issues with my fuel injected 42”. My problem was the relay behind the push button start. It would constantly die out and be hard starting. Took a while to figure it out because it was so intermittent. This relay controlled the fuel pump, spark, and fuel injector.
Thanks for watching! I appreciate that! Next one is anything but that. Was supposed to be Tuesdays videos will probably be next week before it is done!
I checked battery first and then jumper cables from ground on battery to the engine block It’s a fast find on bad ground on frame or loss engine to frame 😊
It sure is a good way, I normally don't have any in my area so I do it a little different but that or hooking between ground and battery negative with voltage drop method. Thanks for watching!
Great vid. I'll check my injector. Was having long crank. Sta-bil helped. Engine died on an incline a few times. Ever happen to you? Any thoughts. Thx!
@@IndRepair true lol. Unfortunately I tried the ground connection under the seat, have good spark, fresh fuel, oil…etc.. and still only cranks but will not run. I’m guessing it’s the push start button or fuel pump.
Hello, I enjoy your videos very much. You do an excellent job on them, thank you. I viewed your tool list looking for the spark tester that you use but didn’t see it listed. Which one do you use? Please keep up the good work.
I appreciate that! Spark Check'r spc-7200 shows in stock at www.rcpw.com/trillium-spc-7200-spark-checkr-engine-spark-tester-ignition-analyzer-for-small-engines-motorcycles-and-more/
Before going thru the trouble of taking the battery out or tracking down the ground cable, just connect a jumper cable fron the battery post to the engine block. That way you know if it's the ground connection.
Good tips there! I always like to check all the connections under the battery anyway. Many times we use a meter to test most of it. Thanks for watching!
On these fuel injected models do you know if there is a scan tool available for purchase? I beleive it hooks up to the Throttle body itself as that's where the Ecm lives. Also have you had any issues with these Push button starts Not shutting off a running engine? Thanks for the videos on the Efi units. Not much out there.
I have been looking for answers for you but have found nothing. I am not sure about this. I have seen multiple switch issues, including not shutting off without pushing multiple times
So I did all that with the switch it worked for 1 mow and then did the same thing no spark new battery new coil new key module and seat switch? I'm dumb founded
It does eliminate most ethanol issues with gum or varnish and quality of fuel does not make as much of an impact since it is finely sprayed (injected). Thanks for watching!

I have ordered from here before right after they started making them again with no issues
Contacted the manufacturer and they gave me a supplier who ships to Canada, ordered, a little pricey, but will be very useful, Thanks.

Great tip! Thanks for sharing this! I have also see the ECM on the throttle body go bad
Love to see you do a tear down on these new motors to find out the quality of the build
Definitely will next one I have apart
Nice Easy one. I'm enjoying the vids 👍

Ground was my issue too on a Cub Cadet RZT SX... Thanks for the tips
Awesome! Glad to help!
Enjoy your videos. very informative

I see cracked pickup tubes cause this often
Test the injector electric circut with a noid light
Good tip, I am not a car guy have never used one
If only all of the jobs that come into the shop could be this easy. 🥴🥴🥴🥴🥴🥴🥴🤷🏿♂️😳
Just have to know where to start I suppose. I was thinking bad connection but definitely not that one! Thanks for watching!
Good vid. The way it was cranking, there was probably no need to check the battery. It was turning over as fast as it could.
Definitely was turning over good, just always good to confirm your thoughts, sometimes strange things happen

@@highball7347 I would try to give it some starting fluid or carburetor cleaner in the intake while cranking. This will confirm or rule out fuel issue

Well, I finally found the scan tool for these after much searching. You can find it at amzn.to/4d7cLSs
So I did all that with the switch it worked for 1 mow and then did the same thing no spark new battery new coil new key module and seat switch? I'm dumb founded
That is some crazy stuff there
Any chance you could share the torque specs for the cylinder head for this motor? I can't seem to find any specs online...
Not sure on this one! I have a message out to our rep for a service manual
@@IndRepair Many thanks! Lots of info available for all the other engines CC has used, but not their own branded one.
I still have no answers! I am not sure one exists at this point...I will keep you posted, reached out to a couple more sources, ugh!!
Do you think the EFI would eliminate most the ethanol fuel issues ?
It does eliminate most ethanol issues with gum or varnish and quality of fuel does not make as much of an impact since it is finely sprayed (injected). Thanks for watching!
Once we get use to it I think it’s a good deal with proper maintenance 😊
Cub cadet is one of the worst mowers you can buy.
Many of them are exactly the same quality but yes they are not the highest quality mowers out there
to bad they arnt all that easy
I know! Thought we were going to be in for some electrical searching. Thanks for watching!
