    Beautiful as always Julie, I turn them over and use them as coasters as you still see the crystal effect 💖.. Oh and as others have said, when you paint the mica on, dab "spots" of gold then cover with the coloured mica. Also when I use the inserts I put them down on one edge then slowly put the rest down so that there's no air left underneath and you get quite a good seal 💖

    Hi Julie, I like the blue and the green one. I think that if the centers were lighter than the edges it would be prettier. Like the lightest one you did. They are really cool how you made those molds to do that. Its awesome. You are so clever and creative.

    B-e-a-utiful Julie!! I was wondering if you could just fill in the "empty" space with clear resin. Especially on that first one you did.

    The gold was in the middle of the colour and the clear so you can’t see it under... if you want it to show under in the rough side you need to put it first before the colour, but I am just saying this to myself, because I am sure that you know this, lol. They are really nice, good job!

    I would love to see you dust the outside with the dark colors then use a lighter almost clear shimmery one in the middle that way it kinda comes out like your very first one but with the shimmery mica powder in the middle! I think that would be absolutely beautiful!

    I use the Crylon gold pen, it stays on the resin when you take it out of the mold, but you actually paint it directly onto the mold, I have used it often, especially in christmas ornaments, it works out great

    Very pretty. Could you use your gold pen and highlight a couple of the crystals? Might be too bright. These molds are just wonderful, Julie. I always excited about your videos to see what you've come up with. Always something exciting.

    Wonderful! I'd like to see them filled with clear resin. Then, if you want some gold effects, paint a little gold on before you fill them. Or, make color the clear resin with the slighted bit of gold. I think that would be pretty, too. Great idea, using them has candle holders. I would use the LED candles, too, not real wax candles! You are quickly becoming the master of resin molds and pouring! Simply lovely! Thank you, Julie! Stay safe!

  • @holycrapboredom
    @holycrapboredom 4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    I've seen others dust their molds for resin pours and they apply the colors they want to see directly onto the mold first, and then blow away the excess powders. If you want to make it look like your crystal necklace you should start dusting the edges first and maybe use white pearlescent powder in the middle.

    Do these work for coasters? What about laying the mold on top of the resin after you’ve filled it?

  • @karijohns8141

    What if you fill your coaster and just lay the druzy inserts on the top?

  • @hon3yb3a
    @hon3yb3a 4 ปีที่แล้ว +4

    When you "paint" with mica powders you will only really see the color directly on the mold. You would probably get the color you wanted if you do the gold high lights first and then the darker color.

    Have you tried using epsom salt or rock salt in the middle for the crystals. I used epsom salt on one of mine and it makes beautiful crystal effects, I just need to get a bigger salt crystal.

    I think they'd be beautiful as afternoon tea plates unless the resin isn't for safe. Or paper weights for the office. Or you could go into the jewelry business yourself and make one that looked like that necklace you have.
    Or maybe put a small hole at the top and run ribbon through and make some very special Christmas ornaments.

  • @joallawestervelt6918

    They are all really pretty. I would pour a little clear resin to fill in the middle like I suggested for the first one you did. 😺 To get some gold on the ones you just poured, perhaps you could use a small stiff shading brush or a small stenciling brush and dry brush some dabs of a gold acrylic paint where you want it. Then once dry a filling layer of your resin in the middle.
    I have to tell you about a video I saw the other day by Steve McDonald Arts and Crafts. He made up some resin and colored 3 and left one plain. I liked the clear one the best as it looked like real geode crystals. He poured in quite a bit of Epson salt in the resin. The colored ones too. He then poured it in his coaster molds. Let it set up then poured a layer over it to make them thicker. He used each corresponding color and clear as his second pour. I think you could make a small amount like you do to pour a color with no salt in a outer ring then pour in the Epson Salt and clear resin in the middle. Then do a second clear pour if necessary. The salt looked like real crystals. Was pretty cool and I instantly thought of you. Much love, take care and stay safe. 😺❤🤗❤

    Hi Julie!! 👋👩‍🦳️👋 These are quite spectacular!! I love the ideas you've come up with lately, very creative! 👍💞💖💞👍
    As everyone has said, put the gold on first, then gently blow or tip off the excess. Then your other color and get rid of the excess. Have you thought of also adding some pearlescent or other shimmering color with/or instead of the gold also?
    Another thought I wonder, would putting some alcohol ink color in the center area work, either directly or as slightly tinted resin instead of the clear at the end? That could add some nice coloration but without using mica powder.
    As always, love your art!! 🧡💛💙💜❤️️
