It was hard holding back my tears at times. I wish we, here in the US, held such grand programs to honor OUR veterans which I am one. The British have always put us to shame when it comes to things like this. Well done YOU! ♥
My God, the British people really know how to remember and honor those that have died, those who are currently serving I cried so much watching this). We Canadians need to do A LOT MORE to honor our soldiers past and present. God bless ALL THE MILITARY around the world. May WE NEVER FORGET those who have died, who live with anputions, mental scars and so more than what we can understand. I will NEVER FORGET!
@@robertpawson8203 yes, I am British and used to watcb this and the following Rememberance Sunday service at The Cenotaph every year from being a child. Now I am in Indonesia and really grateful that I can watch and remember. We will never forget those who died for us and many Canadians are included in this rememberance.
I agree I was at a remembrance service here on Prince Edward Island and my god it was nothing compared to the British stuff that I’m used to seeing every year
So does AUSTRALIA - Too many Immigrants now and Schools, with Socialist Teachers, do not put much effort into teaching anything about our Military Heritage - We now have a Struggle to maintain ANZAC DAY now, due to support costs. As an Ex Army Man, I am totally fed up. Cheers
The 28th Maori Battlion this week lost their last surviving member, Sir Bob Gillies. Now that was a fighting unit! Thank you to all our service men and women., past and present.
This is my highlight for Armistice Day weekend. In America, we honor Veteran's Day.... as an American, I am proud to give my heartfelt love to all who served. And to remember those who paid the #UltimateSacrifice. Thank you to the Royal British Legion for a splendid event. Well done. God Save The King. And.... God Bless America. 🇬🇧🇺🇸🇬🇧🇺🇸
I have never been prouder to have a Welsh heart, even though I am German on paper. Mister Tom Jones. His voice fills the entire hall with graceful calm and this declaration of love. ❤️🥰🏴 It always reminds me of our chance meeting in the Pontypridd supermarket.
What a beautiful emotional concert, for me sir Tom Jones and Jake Issac’s contributions were amazing. Remember my father going to this service when I was a little girl he bought back some of the poppy petals I still have them now.
I watched it live just after me and Woody.EXE attended our festival of remembrance in Wales. The festival of remembrance was dedicated to Come and See’s Florya and myself after we beat Woody in a war recently and we both performed a well known scene from Come and See which really moved Florya emotionally as he remembers the 40 year old movie of his. Then the poppies fell onto Florya during the minute silence. The poppies created the movies title Come and See 40 which hit us all. I couldn’t explain how honoured Floyra felt standing there right in front of Woody.EXE and he even honoured Woody one point. The festival of remembrance was less traumatic this time
Its only some months ago since i learned first about this beautiful beautiful rememberance Event.Unfortunately we are not very supporting to our troops in Germany.while i watched all the last years Festivals i cried the whole time about the amount of appreciation, support and respect.just couldnt wait for this 2024 Event to show up on TH-cam...now its here , because we wont get the live Festival in Germany ❤❤❤
Thank you for posting this Beautiful Tribute to all who served and in remembrance of those who paid the #UltimateSacrifice. May their Memory be a Blessing to us all.
I ne er understood exactly my mother's tears during the march past the cenotaph ..but as I've got older I've realised her tears ...scince my mother's passing ..each year I've watched the festival of remembrance and watched the cenotaph parades.. I now fully understand the sentiment behind my mother's grief ...I've continued tradition and I've learnt along the years the significance of this a momentary occasion...I've followed and watched the remembrance service on the eve of remberence Sunday for many s year but set aside its the 80th year I find this eve of remembercence to be more poignant this year more than ever .
Watching this Monday morning in South Australia, waiting for 11am service on the radio. I am moved to tears by the bravery and sacrifice of so many, the heart felt music, reminded of my Grandfather who was an Engineer in the British Army and was at Monte Cassino, and Africa. He didn't want to tell us grand kids of his war experience. I wish I knew more of his personal experience. I miss him. I will forever be grateful for the service and sacrifice of others❤🌹🌹🌹
A beautiful Service of Remembrance this year. It was lovely to see & hear the children participating. It’s so vitally important that we pass on our tradition of Remembrance & Commemoration for our fallen military & civilian support personnel. “When you go home tell them of us and say for your tomorrow we gave our today”, Kohima Epitaph. May we always remember those who gave so much for our freedom, culture & way of life. God Bless & Rest In Peace.
Each year this wonderful event moves me to tears and my heart is full of gratitude for all those who served. Remembering all my loved ones especially my Dad who finally crossed the bar this year aged102.Each year he would watch this magnificent programme and be up early the day after to attend the service at Stockport War Memorial xx
As an ex service member of the WRAF such emotion watching this. We must never allow anyone or anything to take away all we fought for. If you are or have been a serving member or are a family member I truly dont think you can understand the strength and depth of the feeling of "family" the service give you. My God bless and support all service personal and their families.
Equal to our solemn promise, to never forget, anyone....we shall never forget them.....always in our hearts....I'm NY Toms very British/Brazilian future wife MD, Veteran, Middle East & Cont. of Africa
Between this and the Cenotaph ceremony the following day, the British people really know how to remember and honor our soldiers past and present and those that have died in the line of duty.
My Uncle David Den of Southern Rhodesia part of the SA Armoured Division was killed at Monte Casino. His grave is at Castiglione among the Commonworld crosses where Jan Smuts PM of SA has a beautiful inscription to those lost.
Yes i thought it was quite poor show. Why all the singers? What were they even singing? They didnt seem to be "military" songs. If not for the singers it would have been better. Why didnt Arnhem get a mention? That was also 1944.
I thought it was quite a poor show. What were the "singers" singing?Ive never heard of the songs. It came over as being woke as usual. Why do they need singers anyway? They didnt used to.
Yes Trevour it does. This year being the 80th anniversary of the D Day landing, it was highlighted. And wasn't it special to still have those veterans with us?

America does nothing
@@valeriewalker9438 Not true ... America has Veteran's Day ... which is the same date as Armistice Day .. 11/11 .

Beautiful performance from Sir Tom Jones! He has such compassion & respect for the military!

A piece of paper is just that, it's having a heart that makes you tick.
Adrian did a great job of hosting this respectful and honouring the military and veterans, no B S.
Best wishes from Germany
Remembering my dear Father who stormed Sword Beach on D-day 80 years ago! Always remembered always loved.🥰.

I served and saw battle but the BIGGEST BATTLE FOR ME.... NOVEMBER 11, it's the toughest day of the year!
Watching from California - so proud of them and so proud to be British
Jake Isaac singing great is thy faithfulness was wonderful.
Yes, a shame he got the words wrong but nerves get the better of people sometimes

They don't perform "I Vow To Thee My Country" in this year?
A lot of sacrifices for many people. I have 3 uncles who served in WW2. None of it was glamorous to say the least.
Canada has been allies forever.
God save The King
Tribute from a South African.
Lest we forget

RIP lads, never forgotten.
My Mom was born in 1929. She was 10 when WW2 was declared a war. There were a lot of hardships. All money went to war efforts.
State trumpet of the household cavalry regiment with massed bands British armed forces
The drum head service begins
I thought that tattooed singer displaying her shoulders & her legs with that split skirt was most inappropriate ...
Oh, I think your comment is most inappropriate.
My Uncle David Den of Southern Rhodesia part of the SA Armoured Division was killed at Monte Casino. His grave is at Castiglione among the Commonworld crosses where Jan Smuts PM of SA has a beautiful inscription to those lost.
How come Arnhem wasnt mentioned? It was a very significant operation also in 1944.
There's something in my eyes I think it's a little dusty 😢
My father survived WW2 but didn't last long after remembering him today.
National anthem

Does anyone know who that Australian WW2 soldier was (at 22:33)?
UK.
No Lord’s Prayer? Very sad.
2nd year no Lords prayer
@ at least they’ve kept the other prayers I guess.
Yes i thought it was quite poor show. Why all the singers? What were they even singing? They didnt seem to be "military" songs. If not for the singers it would have been better. Why didnt Arnhem get a mention? That was also 1944.
Where's Mr Edwards this year? 😂
whats the music at 44 min does anyone know
Very poor lighting this year the lighting should be subdued. This is a solemn gathering. It was a bit like Blackpool Illuminations.
Wish the BBC wouldn't force their ugly logo on us on things that are streamed. No other platform does that.
Bring back Huw Edwards!!!
I thought it was quite a poor show. What were the "singers" singing?Ive never heard of the songs. It came over as being woke as usual. Why do they need singers anyway? They didnt used to.
It goes back to WW1, NOT just D DayW
Yes Trevour it does. This year being the 80th anniversary of the D Day landing, it was highlighted. And wasn't it special to still have those veterans with us?
