During the rally, they burnt the Anglo Kuki War Centenary Gate at Leisang village, Near Kangvai a border village between Lamka and Bishnupur districts. This lead to confrontation between Kuki-Zo community and the meiteis. To add fuel to the fire, they spread fake news about raping of meitei women in Lamka which never happened. Rumours started spreading in social media and it continues until today. In short, it was a state sponsored ethnic cleansing.

Which is shocking seeing as political leadership of manipur of both communities were more interested in achieving their long term political goals than ensure peace in manipur. Thats why peace talks had not much effect on ground. Which is why unilateral action in the form of implementing AFASPA or bringing president's rule is needed to achieve peace. Its needed for economic reasons as well because land route which will connect kolkata with thailand goes through Manipur and continued violence will put this route in danger when around 70-80% route is completed.
The most important thing is that outside militant groups are eliminated and not allowed into the country and state. The border must be sealed and the Myanmar Govt must cooperate. India can resolve any tension within our communities. But if outsiders get involved we cannot.

The violence started on May 3, 2023 when the tribals had solidarity march in every hill districts. To counter this rally, the meitei community imposed counter blockade.
The meiteis took the advantage of the rally to instigate violence and ethinic cleansing. During the rally, they burnt the Anglo Kuki War Centenary Gate at Leisang village, Near Kangvai a border village between Lamka and Bishnupur districts. This lead to confrontation between Kuki-Zo community and the meiteis.
To add fuel to the fire, they spread fake news about raping of meitei women in Lamka which never happened. Rumours started spreading in social media and it continues until today. In short, it was a state sponsored ethnic cleansing.
So called “Solidarity march” with AK-47 and bullet proof vest. Yep, got it.

Amit Shah held long talks with both tribal communities. To me one thing was clear and in these meetings. Political demands were central point of the peace talks. Which is shocking seeing as political leadership of manipur of both communities were more interested in achieving their long term political goals than ensure peace in manipur. Thats why peace talks had not much effect on ground. Which is why unilateral action in the form of implementing AFASPA or bringing president's rule is needed to achieve peace. Its needed for economic reasons as well because land route which will connect kolkata with thailand goes through Manipur and continued violence will put this route in danger when around 70-80% route is completed.
The most important thing is that outside militant groups are eliminated and not allowed into the country and state. The border must be sealed and the Myanmar Govt must cooperate.
India can resolve any tension within our communities. But if outsiders get involved we cannot.

The best possible solution will be taking away Manipur's statehood and declaring it a union territory of India.
