Going to be trying surf mode out this weekend on a pretty small ski boat. Currently using a single wake shaper so we'll see if all these claims are true about this maverick system
Let us know how it goes. I ran a smaller boat for a few years. I couldn't use the maverick Becaise the middle of the boat was so high out of the water If you have that problem jusy move the middle shaper back until it is in the water
I tried surfmode yesterday for the first time. I have a older Sanger direct drive. The wave was okay for a ski boat. There’s a lot of spray off that comes in the boat. Mainly off of the middle one. Do you have any ideas to reduce it?
It's called wave form. The project is being put on hold for now. But keep an eye out. Version 2.0 may end up dropping soon When it does I'll have some details
GSA is a great looking system that seems to work well. However, I think the main goal is to get the boat going slightly sideways through the water. The suck gate on the front helps do that Probbaly a suck gate on front and GSA is the best wave. GSA alone is the compromise that makes a good wave, and less hassle
Great video. I had a question if you ever see this. I just bought a 2014 moomba mojo 2.5 , my ballast bags are in the same spots and I have suf gates on the back of the boat. Any advice on how to set up ballast for the bast wave?
Same setup Your surf tabs are not the best. Try putting a suck gate on the side of the boat how I show in this video and use your surf tab on the back. It'll help
The wake plates were too small. Wave looked good, but didn't have the push we wanted I went back to using the suck gates This season I'm going to look at making bigger plates for the trim tabs and give it another go. I just have so many projects to do I'm not sure if I'll have time to work on the plates at all
Have you helped anyone set up a Malibu 23 XTi? (Weight and placement) I have removed the rear seat and have a 1500 pound WakeMakers custom rear ballast bag and additional fat sacs available for this mid-engine boat. I've also installed evolution surf tabs, but I'm struggling to make a usable surf wave.
Try at least 600 pounds in the bow along with a minimum of 1000 pounds in the centre to front. I find with mine that I don’t get the push from the wave without having this front ballast plus the boat sits more level and comes on plane quicker and is easier to steer. Just be careful not to swamp it when backing off and coming back around to get your rider
yes, if you cant get to surf speed you need to get a better prop, or put more weight in the bow. Only add bow weight until you get to surfing speed though. Any faster and you sacrifice wave height for the ability to go faster. Your wave will get longer as well. But most people want tall before they want long
Hey there this is awesome. Do you have any suggestions on which boat I should buy to be able to generate a great wave but still an economical boat? Looks like you have the centurion cyclone. Any other boats you recommend? I ideally dont want to spend $60k+ for the boat.
@@GearsAndTechjust picked up an 07 Supreme V212, any experience weighting one? I have the factory 500/side as well as the Ronix Velcro Wedge, wave is ok, not much length tho. Looking into trying a second shaper like you mentioned. Great video for us folks with older boats! Appreciate it!
Hello I have a question totally unrelated to this video but anyway I am unable to connect my dual sense edge to my besavior controller via Bluetooth. I’ve watched all of your videos and other besavior videos and I just can’t get it. Could you help me out please. I’ve been subscribed to your channel for a few months now and I like anything of yours I watch
GHETTO ALL DAY. BOTH ARE GOOD BUT PRICE KILLS IT FOR ME AND LOOKS GOOD ENOUGH. PLUS U PUT SOME BALLAST IN FRONT YOUR WAVE ON GHETTO IS GONNA BE LONGER.

the title makes no sense to me but the content is a plus.
It's the opposite of click bait.
Undersell it with the title and knock your socks off with the content

Bro you got quality vids.. why arent you more popular?
Mostly just grinding away building the audience one view at a time.
We will get there
Thanks for the support!
This is so cool I thought you were just a gamer and cars guy. I surf and foil a lot. Have you got into foil yet Anton?
Why do you not use a front ballast bag? I was always under the impression that "more weight" has the biggest effect on the wave.
I don't not put any weight in the front. I go through my complete setup in this video

Surf mode definitely has a wider surf area to ride. Would make it easier for beginners.
Agreed!
I tried surfmode yesterday for the first time. I have a older Sanger direct drive. The wave was okay for a ski boat. There’s a lot of spray off that comes in the boat. Mainly off of the middle one. Do you have any ideas to reduce it?
Move it down further. If you can't move it down more, then move it back 6" then try again
Keep moving it back till spray is gone
What is the phone app bag fill system you are using? Great vid! Thanks!
It's called wave form. The project is being put on hold for now. But keep an eye out. Version 2.0 may end up dropping soon
When it does I'll have some details
How do these boats react to go surf assist or a similar system?
GSA is a great looking system that seems to work well.
However, I think the main goal is to get the boat going slightly sideways through the water. The suck gate on the front helps do that
Probbaly a suck gate on front and GSA is the best wave.
GSA alone is the compromise that makes a good wave, and less hassle
Where do you get the Green Amazon Gate? I've tried finding it without luck. Has it been discontinued?
I recently went looking for it too. Couldn't find it
They come from over seas and aren't marketed well.

Do you now what your pitch and roll are (I didn't see them in video)?
Unfortunately I don't.
How does this compare to your DIY Auto Surf system that you installed with the Lenco trim tab kit?
The wake plates were too small. Wave looked good, but didn't have the push we wanted
I went back to using the suck gates
This season I'm going to look at making bigger plates for the trim tabs and give it another go. I just have so many projects to do I'm not sure if I'll have time to work on the plates at all

That 1500 lbs bag plus another 500 in the back should do it
Then two suck gates on the side
Try at least 600 pounds in the bow along with a minimum of 1000 pounds in the centre to front. I find with mine that I don’t get the push from the wave without having this front ballast plus the boat sits more level and comes on plane quicker and is easier to steer. Is it possible to make wakesurfe waves on a regular boat with outboard engine?
Yes, but very dangerous. Riders falling in will get killed by the prop.
Very dangeruous or just a small possibility? I can not find anyone even falling into a boat when wakesurfing.
I’ve added a lot of weight to my boat but I can’t get the boat to plane. Can you help me with that?
yes, if you cant get to surf speed you need to get a better prop, or put more weight in the bow.
Only add bow weight until you get to surfing speed though. Any faster and you sacrifice wave height for the ability to go faster.

Centurion with c4 hull or supreme
Best bang for the buck
Sanger and MB*

Yo I got the same boat as you, what does your ballast look like?
I go through my ballast setup and everything in this video here

Don’t you have a surf system on your boat that you made with lenco system
Yes. I am doing modifications to that system this year to dial it in
The surf mode actually made a better wave so I stuck with that for the season
Ghetto mode all day long. 👍🇨🇦
It's cheaper for sure
GHETTO ALL DAY. BOTH ARE GOOD BUT PRICE KILLS IT FOR ME AND LOOKS GOOD ENOUGH. PLUS U PUT SOME BALLAST IN FRONT YOUR WAVE ON GHETTO IS GONNA BE LONGER.
Yes, ghetto mode is way cheaper
