I'm brand new, just purchased a mastercraft, so many opinions from my friends on how to set it up, thank you for the tips. i just sent this to my girlfriend to watch as well, so when I get home, she's got a handle on the basics!!!
Thank you for the great video, the one thing I am having trouble understanding is the idea of taking some of the ballast weight out of the boat when I have more people in the boat. My thought has always been that the lower the boat is in the water (100% ballast full and a bunch of people) would in theory displace more water, thus bigger wave. Is that incorrect? I have a 2019 Moomba Mojo with factory ballast and extra bags front and back, plus 500lbs of lead in the rear. My main goal is to lengthen my wave and your explanation of taking some of that ballast out of the center and front got me thinking I have it all wrong. Any words of advice? Thanks again!
thanks for the info! we have an older ski sanger with some ballast bags that came with it and smaller bag in the center of the boat. what do you think i should do with weight? fill both rear to the max to get a bigger wave? we have to pump manually for both rear ballasts. thanks!
@@boatinglessons New to boating, don't know what a forward facing drive is. I have a I/O Mercruiser, wanted to know if you trim the motor up if it would help or hurt the wave.
What you call the perfect wake is making boating unsafe for your fellow boaters. Eroding the shore line of inland lakes, disturbing the bottom of the lakes. Makes boating unsafe for families out in pontoon boats and smaller watercrafts. You and your friends need to be stopped. “Keep Michigan Lakes Pure”
Boats have been wakesurfing for more than a decade. And before that wakeboarding. And bigger boats can cause the same wake. Get real...aside from local water supply this is what lakes are for...boating of all kinds, fishing, etc.
Most helpful video I've found on the subject so far. Thanks!!!
Thank you. More knowledge than the dealers and boat manufacturers can give you!!

Super helpful!
question for you, does the trim of the motor make a difference? Where should it be?
Are you talking about trim on a forward facing drive Patrick?
@@boatinglessons New to boating, don't know what a forward facing drive is. I have a I/O Mercruiser, wanted to know if you trim the motor up if it would help or hurt the wave.
@@patrickpatrick1137 Are you asking about increasing the wave size for wakeboarding or wakesurfing?
@Len's Cove Lessons in Boating yes, how will trimming the motor affect the wave.
@@patrickpatrick1137 YOu shouldnt be wakesurfing on an I/O. Very dangerous
How about Mariah
I can’t concentrate with the Way they them..? Voice keeps cracking
What is wrong with you on the inside?
Good information. The vocal fry (look it up) is distracting. It's not natural and people that do it can stop. Please stop.
Its not so unatural that it stands out, i had to look it up and then re watch, and she does, but i still didnt find it distracting
For everyone wondering, it’s because that’s a dude…
This is weird.
Why American surf girls look so masculine?

There are ways to wake surf and respect other boaters and the environment. That is in the hands of the operator.
