Thank you, Joe! My husband and I are looking to build a raised garden and I came across your channel. Although there is a considerable amount to keep in mind, prior to even beginning the project, I appreciate the way in which you provide segments to distill all of the information.
A short video packed with tons of useful and valuable information.
Thanks for sharing!

Thank you for this! I'm just about to make the investment in many raised beds as I ramp up my permaculture approach to yard and garden care, and you've answered pretty much all of my questions...in 3 minutes 43 seconds. SO appreciated!
Very helpful, exactly what I was looking for!
Good summary of the options. Thank you.
no one ever talks about these things when it comes to garden beds. I bought three really cute raised garden beds at IKEA, but as I read just now, they're made from treated wood.... so I guess what I'm going to do is purchase untreated wood and line the inside with it to protect it. thanks so much for this video!!!
For untreated wood, can you put a protective coat on the side where the wood has no contact with the soil?
Tung oil. I wonder if this would make a wise choice to put all over some pine 2x4s to make a cost-efficient wood raised bed, that's going to last a lot longer and also prove food safe. I just googles food grade lumber waterproofing and it's one thing that popped up.
Joe, this is really thorough information. One question. I see many gardeners use galvanized can for their beds. I hear two different things though: "absolutely bad because of the chemical or getting hot fast during summer" vs. "OK from their experiences." What do you think?
