- Members of The United States Army Field Band and the @82ndAirborneDiv1 Chorus have come together to honor African American Heritage Month with this rendition of "Lift Every Voice and Sing".
Each February, the U.S. reflects upon and celebrates the tremendous contributions of African Americans to our great nation. The U.S. Army continues to embrace its commitment to promote diversity, foster inclusive behavior, and demonstrate respect for each individual, because the strength of our diverse force is dependent upon ensuring equality for all its members.

Sure am tired of waiting for that change to come, but I know our US military has been very progressive in regards to racism. My son was in the Navy 10 years ago, and he told me how racism and sexism is not tolerated in the ranks, at least that was his experience.

I'm grateful that President Biden has reversed trump's ban on transgendered people serving in the military. I have family and friends who are trans, and I love them a lot. They are some of the kindest, and wisest folks I've ever known.
@Rhonda Allan White history month is every other month of the year. The vast majority of history that gets discussed is white history. I'm sorry this beautiful song, written to commemorate Abraham Lincoln's birthday and symbolize freedom from slavery, annoyed you so much. Why, though, must the Battle Hymn of the Republic supersede this equally-beautiful and moving song?
