I kinda like the NES games with the kids names written on them, it makes it a little more nostalgic for me, but I despise a messed up label because I want to see that artwork! 🤘😁👍
Yes! You can still have a blast collecting and not go broke. We actually only buy loose carts because we know we're going to be playing them, we have a kid that destroys expensive cardboard, and we're just cheap. We also only buy what we play and if we played it and didn't like it...then it gets traded in. Keeps things within budget and our space freed up for stuff we want. Great series guys!
Great video, I've recently started buying loose carts and discs for various systems, in particular, Saturn, Megadrive and Snes and if the carts/cd's could tell a story it would be one of horror :) the way people treat these games is mind blowing! from probably accidental like, Snes/carts sitting directly in front of a window.... UV discoloration on the back of the cart, I have quite a few of these - to carts literally having their labels peeled off and ... the worst... bite marks! and the classic ebay line 'untested...' mainly on discs and you just know they aren't going to work!
I love the idea. Not all video game collections have to be CIB. As much as I would love my own full collections to be CIB, my own cash funds probably wouldn't allow for it, sadly. That's why I'm more than happy to have my favorites loose. The only thing I'm really more "picky" on is I prefer my copies of the game to be "clean" with the labels at least. Nothing torn or scribbled on as much as possible. Then if I find the boxes or manuals for the games later, I call it a "pleasant bonus". This is why very few of my retro games are complete CIB, sadly. It probably doesn't help that I'm the type of guy who wants to actually play the games I buy, too.
RC pro-am and blaster master are Gems! And excitebike is ok. As long as they play, you can always upgrade labels later…. Or don’t. This way they have character.

BTW that Little League baseball championship series is the best baseball game on the system imo. Super underrated SNK nes game. SNK always did well on the nes
I bought a Metal Storm cart that looks a lot like your Blaster Master, plus some scratches to the plastic case. Doesn't really bothers me, as the game plays fine.
Yeah, blaster master really opened my eyes as to the breadth of what kind of games the NES was capable of handling. The Japanese cover looks quite different, very anime. Called "Meta Fight" something er other.
Instead of Magic Eraser (which is abrasive and will damage the plastic), you could try white board markers + alcohol. The trick is to write over the sharpie with white board marker, wait a few seconds and then rub it with alcohol. Repeat as needed. It will take a while and sometimes doesn't remove everything but it's worth a shot. Oh and love your videos 😅
