Great video and explanations about how these seats operate. When 2nd row moved back to its position will you get your previous setting or it'd be a default position? And can that default position be redefined via the iDrive system?
Great question! When the 2nd row is moved back, it will return to the last spot it was set at. You can also press the button located on the side of the seat bottom near the seat controls that sets the seat to the default setting (this default setting cannot be changed to a different default setting).
Great question! Unfortunately when those third row seats are up and latched in, they don’t recline any further than where they are. So it is the maximum.
Will these seats move with passengers on them? Kind of scary to think if someone accidentally presses the button to collapse the third row seats with people on them...
Yes, they do move when there is someone seating in them. Happened to me today. This is one of the features that I like least about this car. The seats are super slow to lower and raise. I have the captians chairs and they do not fold flat. Storage is very limited considering this is considered a large SUV. I find the Infinit QX60 to have a more functional system.
My son accidentally pulled the red strap on the back of the second row seats and now it’s stuck in the down position. Any tips on how to raise the seat again.

I haven’t tested this theory just yet but will find out and let you know. I believe there is a weight sensor that will halt the movement of the seats.

Great question! If the red emergency strap was pulled, it should be free, meaning that you can move it freely back into the upright position.
