Thanks for continuing to highlight the nonsensical lack of hard buttons for shortcuts and climate controls in new BMWs and other cars. Everything being on a touchscreen is not safer and is not more convenient (poorly working voice controls don't count, clearly) and I really hope automakers get the hint sooner rather than later.

I kinda have the dark impression that it´s not as nonsensical as you might think, at least for the manufactorer.
I would almost bet that down the road they will monetize a lot of features in some way, so that you either have to pay once to unlock something or at the worst, make it a subscription with monthly/annual payments. Plus they don´t have top put all those blank buttons in their entry level specs, so they don´t rub it quite as bad into your face for just how many things they want to charge you...

    A few notes I have:
Like the initial X7, I thought it was ugly when it was first unveiled, but now after seeing a few on the road, I don’t mind it. It’s not beautiful, but I would not kick it out of the driveway.
We got a new LCI 3 series, and ‘hey bmw’ can do the XM channel and hasn’t been an issue for me. The loss of buttons is also a bummer, but really hasn’t been an issue with the day to day living.
    Anyways, great video as always!

Agreed. I've said this before and I will say it again, this looks a ton better than the M3/M4/430i/440i/M440i/I4/IX, and for the 1000000000th time, BUY IT IN BLACK FOR PETE'S SAKE!!!!!!! I am getting sick and tired of you guys buying it in Alpine White, São Paolo Yellow, Arctic Race Blue Metallic, Isle Of Man Green Metallic, Dravite Gray Metallic, San Remo Green Metallic, Portimao Blue Metallic or Mineral White Metallic.

@@brianlee9233 I agree except for the color part. More cars should have color, and our LCI 3 series is blue. I’ve also had a purple WRX and a green SRT charger.

The push toward making everything touch screen and behind menus is baffling. Are they really saving enough money to be worth the lives that could be affected by distracted driving?
I have to say, though, physical controls aren't 100% everything. In my B9 A4 most of the toggles for HVAC "feel" just about the same so you still have to look to see if you're touching the right control. Why can't we just stick with tried+true button stacks with different feeling buttons for unique controls?
