  • Diamond Infinite Edge Pro Review. In this video, I review the Diamond Infinite Edge Pro compound bow. I review the speed of the Infinite Edge Pro at the various draw lengths as well as the draw weight of the Infinite Edge Pro at the different draw lengths. In my next video on the Diamond Infinite Edge Pro, I talk about how to tune an Infinite Edge Pro. Here is the link for that video • How To Tune a Diamond ...
    I mentioned some tools I recommend having for tuning as well as my video on how to make a draw board.
    Below are the links to the bow tuning tools I talked about.

    The diamond infinite edge pro was the first bow I bought , (being a 47 yr novice ). That was 9 months ago. I found a coach and had him set it up. It worked well. Since then I picked up a 2009 pse bowmadness, and just recently a 2019 pse evoke 35 that I did all the work on with the help of my coach. I started to set up the diamond for my wife and found out what a pain they are to work on,lol.

    Thanks for the video. I just bought this bow and am totally new to archery. I had watched a video where someone adjusted the draw length without a bow press (although now I wonder if it was not the “pro” version) and that played a big part in me buying this bow. Now to see that I need a bow press to adjust the draw length and install the peep sight...kind of disappointed.

    • @seansoutdoors
      @seansoutdoors  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Well, you could also loosen the limb bolts down so far that you can pull on the cables until the cam rotates far enough to be able to loosen the screw and switch the draw length. While that is one way you can do it, it is a pain in the butt to have to do that just to change the draw length.

    • @wax-onwax-off7105
      @wax-onwax-off7105 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      The pro doesn't need a press. But they only recomend this for moving string position a, b, or c. I've done to put twist in string to rotate peep. 5-6 additional turns on limb bolts. And they say only back bolts as far as half way through the hole it runs through. I don't know anything about the non pro version.

    Thanks for the great review. I’m new to bows but decided to pull the trigger and bought this exact model off the internet. I like to tinker so I did a lot of research regarding tuning and maintenance. It was not well-tuned out of the box, so I made a makeshift bow press and timed the cams appropriately and set the correct draw length. Arrow placement is inconsistent, but most seem to be going right (and I’m a lefty). I don’t think the problem is the bow so much as my technique. I’m trying to be mindful of my stance, correct grip and elbow angles, arrow rest position/angle, sight adjustment, anchoring, etc., but everything is still going right. Any ideas?

    • @seansoutdoors
      @seansoutdoors  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If your arrows hit father right the farther back you shoot from then it sounds like your tuning is off. Make sure that your rest is centered properly and then yoke tune it to compensate for your arrow flight.
      If it is consistent right but not farther right the farther you move back then just move your sight. If you are sometimes on and sometimes right then it's human error and that could be a whole list of things.

    Sean, there are few things off with the way that bow it set up and "tuned."
    1. The drawboard you're using doesn't give a true reading of the cam timing, because the bow riser isn't perfectly perpendicular to the ruler. This causes the cams to be off, as you have shown, hence why I am seeing the nock end of your arrow ride higher than the rest when you drew the bow back. If you tilt the bow up at full draw so that the riser is perpendicular to the ruler, you'll see the one cam that is further out come back more towards the cable. It might still need a half-twist or 2 to get the cams back into sync.
    2. I love my Infinite Edge Pro. I've got it set to 26.5" draw, at 60#, and I'm shooting a 310 grain Carbontech Cheetah arrow through the chronograph at 246 fps. At 65# and 26", your arrow should be shooting a bit faster than 250 fps.
    3. The cams have two string posts to get the drawlength down to 13". Post B shortens the string, thereby shortening the overall drawlengths.
    4. The foam inside the quiver hood is removable.
    5. The limb bolts should bottom out the limbs to the riser. Something is wrong if they don't.
    6. The drawlength modules when this bow first came out were aluminum. I am glad to say that I have one of the first ones made.
    This bow likes a little bit of weight in order to remain stable able full draw. It's so light that I can't hold it steady. I found that it likes an 18" stabilizer with 4 oz of weight up front, and a 6" side stabilizer with 3 oz on the end, makes for a great shooting bow. I also installed a QAD rest and an IQ sight with Retina-Lock to tell me that I'm not torquing the bow and those things made for a very accurate shooting bow.

    Hey Sean. New to compound bows in general and I am loving your videos. I got my wife the infinite edge pro and looking at the manual it seems the draw weight at my wife's draw length is too high (65lbs at 26") while in the A setting. However the manual says the string stop provided is only functional with the A loop setting. My question is should I move the setting from "A" to "C". Or would it be best to loosen the limb bolts to lower the draw weight but keep the "A" setting. I would like to get the draw weight closer to 50lbs for her. Thank you!

      The bow itself could be used. What you need to pay attention to are the specifications for arrow weight. If shooting in an IBO competition, the arrow will need to be at least 5 grains per pound of draw weight. So if you are shooting at 70 pound draw weight, the arrow needs to weigh at least 350 grains.

    There is 3 string routes around the post for A B and C to different draw lengths read it in the manual

    • @seansoutdoors
      @seansoutdoors  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, there are three string positions, but when the screws for the mod are buried under the limb, you need to press the bow in order to get access to them. the only other option would be to loosen the limb bolts so far out that you could pull on the cables to rotate the cam in order to gain access at the screws.

    • @bethg7026
      @bethg7026 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      The string positions aren't meant to get the screws out from under the limbs. You said you were reluctant to go lower than a 17" draw length, that's where those other two routes come in. They effectively shorten the string, which allows for more tension at lower draw lengths.
      While it would be nice for everyone to have access to a bow press, it's nice that someone has made a bow that can be adjusted without one, even if it means loosening the limbs. Given that every time you change the draw length the weight changes, you most likely will have to adjust the limbs anyway

    • @seansoutdoors
      @seansoutdoors  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@bethg7026 changing the draw length a half inch (which is what most archers will be doing if they are growing with the bow) won't require much adjustment on the draw weight.
      As for the string position, thanks for clarifying. I went through the box and there was not manual in the box. I went online on their website and didn't see one for the page with all the other manuals. They must call it something other than Diamond Infinite Edge Pro. There is a different peg for the string for position b and c to make length shorter. Same peg for both just how you attach it. And manuel says no press needed to change pegs.

      I was not able to access the screws to take the draw mod off to change the draw length when I pulled this bow out of the box. It required a press to be able to rotate the cam enough to access the screws. Press needed.

    • @wax-onwax-off7105
      @wax-onwax-off7105 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      In the changing draw length section it refers you to look at the changing draw weight section to do this without a bow press. They are talking about moving the string position not the mods. But well you can work on this bow just by adjusting draw weight. Check it out man. No lie. Just double checked myself. Once i get new strings for mine it becomes my women's. Had it for 4 years now. And just upgraded.

      String setting c, mod set at 13 give you 13 in draw and 8lbs of draw weight.

    • @wax-onwax-off7105
      @wax-onwax-off7105 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      When the application is stricley for bow adjustment purposes only, each limb bolt may be backed out an additional 5-6 turns complete turns in order to relieve the string and cable tension.
      Word for word out of the Manuel.

    Instead of using the bow press can’t you take the cables and squeeze them towards the riser to get to the screw? I know with my wife’s cruzer that was the easier way to do it

    • @seansoutdoors
      @seansoutdoors  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      No the screws are too far under the limb in many of those instances.

      It really depends on the positioning. I could do that with my daughter's once but then the next time we had to throw it on a press

      It probably can vary depending on who assembled it. I don't know.

    I have one of these and you say you need a bow press ? > You Don`t !! I`ve undone the limb bolt and it releases everything to do any work on, in fact I`ve done this several Times, > No Problem

    • @seansoutdoors
      @seansoutdoors  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      You are right. But that's also a bit of a pain as you can't go more than two full turns on a side at a time, so going back and forth on each limb takes a very long time and it's also difficult to get it back to the exact poundage and exact tiller on each limb, thus making fine tuning all the more difficult. If you're trying to get a precise tune on the bow, unscrewing each limb all the way and then cranking them back in two turns per side at a time makes it extremely difficult.

    Good riser, good weight, poor engineered cams on this bow. With better engineered cams, this Edge Pro would generate a lot more fps.
    Diamond went cheap on this engineering design on cams. The Fuel - more modern Bowtech version beats it hands down on same riser, same limbs - different better engineered cams, different string, cables. Cabelas S3 is also an updated more fps design based off this riser / limbs.

    I think at speed test , you are too close at chrono! The arrow dont leaved the bow among the tip arrived in the first section of chrony

    • @seansoutdoors
      @seansoutdoors  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I shoot 36 inches away from ever single speed test I do. The arrow slows down the moment it leaves the bow so the farther you go back the lower you speed will be.
