Still watching your videos over and over several years later. I love them. You’ve inspired me to one day get out and try hot tenting. You are deeply missed. Wish I would have had the opportunity to meet you. I’m certain you were an awesome and fun guy to camp with.

Thank you for using real stakes to ground your tent, I’m growing tired of watching some channels wasting time making them out of branches, just to show how cool and impressive they are. Work smarter not harder.

If you have never camped during a snow storm, you are missing out on the best camping experience you can have. Having your dog along with you is awesome as well. Just, know what you are doing and prepare correctly.

When I was in Boy Scouts, we camped one weekend every month during school and then every three weeks in the summer. Rain, Snow, Sleet, Gale Winds, or Shine.
In addition we also did one week at summer camp and one week for the older scouts to have a trout fishing trip. Summer camp we would try to visit the summer camps of other councils.
      Our scoutmaster was the BEST!
Very devoted to the Boy Scouts.

      @@sounduser .
I remember out on the ocean beach one time and the winds were terrible. We weren't camping, but saw about a dozen dome type tents blowing down the beach and across the waves.
Short straight tent pegs do not hold in sand. LOL

Powdery dry snow is fun camping, but wet, slushy snow that penetrates into your bones is not for me.

I camped in a snow storm once while deer hunting, woke up to 6 inches of snow on the ground and half an inch in my tent. Never will forget, but not the most fun.

I think kayakers really understand camping in the cold and wet. Early spring is prime time for them. Not many other people out when the water's at its peak and it's cold, wet and miserable in the forest.
Western USA sure could use some of that Appalachian wet. So lush.

Either silicon or a stove jacket that Velcro’s on and is fire proof. No tipi touches the stove flu pipe.

The tent reminds me to the Indian hut .... the wigwam
But now I know that this is the more matching and effectively tent in winter

Thanks for the video. I was a little disappointed on how much the Kifaru sagged. I was looking at it. I had thought they used a ripstop polyester instead of a silnylon. I have a snowtrekker but I am looking for something lighter that i can backpack with

The Kifaru tipi is high grade silnylon with large number 10 zippers. They stopped making rip stop decades ago for weight savings. Most of the tipi tents are silnylon be they Seakoutside, Kifaru or Ti goat. Yes it will sag and a liner is really a good option for wet weather. I have been looking at the snowtrekker for my pulk and really cold weather.

thanks for your excellent videos. would you like to consider comparing your current titanium stove to your previous ones please? some pros and cons would be great! best of luck and happy trails!

I like this better because of the large firebox and the Ti is more UL than stainless. I like the door on my Kifaru box stove more. I should do a video on my tent stoves. Have a good number of them. Thanks for watching!

Pack the Sawyer Squeeze water filter. Get this over the mini. www.amazon.com/Sawyer-Products-PointOne-Squeeze-Filter/dp/B00B1OSU4W/ref=sr_1_1?keywords=sawyer%2Bsqueeze&qid=1552909111&s=gateway&sr=8-1&th=1 Water is everything and that's what most people use. My best advice and good luck.
