Still watching your videos over and over several years later. I love them. You’ve inspired me to one day get out and try hot tenting. You are deeply missed. Wish I would have had the opportunity to meet you. I’m certain you were an awesome and fun guy to camp with.
Thank you for using real stakes to ground your tent, I’m growing tired of watching some channels wasting time making them out of branches, just to show how cool and impressive they are. Work smarter not harder.
If you have never camped during a snow storm, you are missing out on the best camping experience you can have. Having your dog along with you is awesome as well. Just, know what you are doing and prepare correctly.
When I was in Boy Scouts, we camped one weekend every month during school and then every three weeks in the summer. Rain, Snow, Sleet, Gale Winds, or Shine. In addition we also did one week at summer camp and one week for the older scouts to have a trout fishing trip. Summer camp we would try to visit the summer camps of other councils. Our scoutmaster was the BEST! Very devoted to the Boy Scouts.
@@sounduser . I remember out on the ocean beach one time and the winds were terrible. We weren't camping, but saw about a dozen dome type tents blowing down the beach and across the waves. Short straight tent pegs do not hold in sand. LOL
I camped in a snow storm once while deer hunting, woke up to 6 inches of snow on the ground and half an inch in my tent. Never will forget, but not the most fun.

I think kayakers really understand camping in the cold and wet. Early spring is prime time for them. Not many other people out when the water's at its peak and it's cold, wet and miserable in the forest. Western USA sure could use some of that Appalachian wet. So lush.
Awesome video man. I really need to get out and do this soon. My brother and nephews would love it. Never have been camping with a portable stove. Always froze my ass off. We would sleep in a freezing tent with a fire outside the tent. Mornings always sucked when we woke up freezing and the fire would be out ,lol. I know what my next purchase will be . A camping stove. Or i may just make one myself
Another great video, Kevin. It looks like it was a great trip. Too bad it got cut short. Cool use of that mylar blanket. Thanks for bringing us along with you.
Thanks. Yea it keeps drips off of my bag as well if the poncho got wet outside. Overall the liner mitigated that problem so was happy to have it! Thanks for watching!

awesome video man, really enjoyed this. This will be my first season hot tenting out in the mountains solo for a big buck. thanks for the sweet video, new follower here
I wanted to get out so bad, but had the same thing. Rain overnight then temps plummeted. Had to take care of cleanup before it turned into a massive ice block. Hit -5F Sunday night, and -9F Monday night! A bit more than I wanted to get myself into, and being the first real snow, spent a lot of time out on the snowmobile.
Damn I miss the snow . I was born and raised in Florida and lived here for 35 years and then spent two years in Northern Pennsylvania and the Southern tier of New York . I absolutely love Northern Pennsylvania . I've been back in Florida for 8 years now . It was 95 today . I miss the snow .
Nice little adventure Walker I really enjoyed watching too bad it started raining I wish it would have snowed you could have stayed a couple days I always enjoy your videos I'll see you on the next one Walker 😀😀😀😀😀
This is a much better idea than winter camping in a hammock. Getting out to pee in the in the night sucks. Looks easier to get out of hot tent and take care of business. And there is less chance of freezing your hind quarters off.
Pretty cool watching this! I said to myself this is definitely somewhere in New England, cool to see you were actually hiking about an hour from where I live!
