Very good tutorial, this is probably the clearest so far and I've watched them all as the mavericks have been driving me crazy! I just couldn't fire mavericks so I watched every tutorial out there to try to work out what I was doing wrong. However after many hours of investigation it turned out it was a weird bug caused by me having the JAS39 Grippen mod installed! Weird or what? Now that headache is gone I'm really loving the Phantom now 🙂
fun fact: Iran used the F-4Es armed with 6x AGM-65A and Bs during the Iran Iraq war go sink most of the Iraqi OSA missile boats at the beginning of war. Despite the fact that the maverick was never designed to be used against naval vessels.
The Maverick can usually fly further than achieve a lock. So when you get a lock, you are usually within range. Typical Maverick range should be around 7-ish NM I think?
No matter how many times I follow these steps to the letter, when I press bomb release, nothing happens. I make sure tgt is locked, release the aar button, then press and hold bomb release
This thread is a celebration of the Phantom's resilience and strength. Lol figgun bots. But for reals these tutorials are invaluable! Thank you so much! I'm going to have to start using active pause to practice more. This seems like a great strategy in sp.
I would like to see a wargame at some point using the Phantom in a modern scenario to see if it can survive and complete basic missions with the help of other platforms. Currently, Greece, Turkey, and Iran are the only 3 nations that still operate the Phantom.
+GrimReapersAtomic *The Hughes AGM-65 was actually developed from the AIM-4 Series of short range AAMs.*
Thanks.

Good tutorial. Pace and instructions are just right.
Excellent, very useful tutorial. Thank you very much.
The primary weapon of the A-10 during Desert Storm, not the GAU-8 like most people like to believe.
Great and helpful Cannonball.
65 years of F-4 in 2023.

How do you know if you are in range?

gotta have a stabilized approach!
The bots are alive and well.
Very inspiring
Just missing one of those “my content is better” bots.
It's such a joy to read fake comments by bots in this online community 😂🤣

To 'SLEW' the target seeker.... Not, to 'Move'.
