It's AMAZING. The x58 platform really is a treasure of PC history. There was minimal bottleneck, but the FPS were always above 60. And thats a 10 year old CPU paired with a brand new GPU ! . Really impressive.
I plan on getting a 3060 in the coming month's, I want to upgrade to a 990X cpu from my 920, I might get a better motherboard as well considering mine is some jank ass pegatron no name shit. Great video, was really nervous about the GPU working on these old chipset's.
I have an x5675 with 48gb ram and a stable 4.19ghz overclock. Trying to decide if I keep attempting to get a rtx3070 or just break down and get a prebuilt with a rtx3070 since it's available now. This video makes me think it's worth waiting for a gpu...
Hi, how is it possible you have it working with 48GB RAM? I have x5680 and quite similar overclock, but i was sure i can get only 24GB RAM ..I have ASUS Rampage III Gene Motherboard. Do you think it is possible for me to get it working with 6 sticks of 8GBs? Thanks in advance for your reply :)
3070 in 4k was always raise maximum, bcs 3070 create for qhd gaming, and in 4K 8gb vram not enoght in modern games. For example you can check 3090vsx58 chipset th-cam.com/video/7ksJMY6YwBQ/w-d-xo.html and in 4k for 3070 you will see same results as with modern CPU
hi, i have a question. just got a new rtx 3070 fe for my intel dx58so mb which is a x58 board. when i turn on my pc it shows, black screen with saying "boot device not detected" is it my board doesn't support? or defect gpu? because when i put my old gtx 660 back on, pc boots fine
Though its can be anywhere. Check your bios, i have no problem with my motherboard, so check problem around. "Boot device not detected" its clear error. If you not see your hard drivers in bios when 3070 installed - find problem
if u find 3070 with good price - of course. But 1366 does not reveal the potential of 3070 on 100% for half modern games in 1080p. And, of course, you need boost clocks on processor from stock 3,46 , if you steel didnt do it. But it's definitely up your framerate
Well, as I checked other comparison tests - you will see the same results as mine. But you need to overclock the processor. Everything depends on the game, and the processor will still act as a bottleneck.
Difficult choice. Processors in games can perform similarly and both require overclocking. The x5660 has more cores and HT support, but lacks AVX instructions (a small percentage of games like Horizon Zero Dawn require it). In any case, both processors require overclocking and it is better to look for more modern solutions. I just already had a 1366 build with overclocking capability and therefore the X56xx processor looks optimal for me. And so I would answer like the Witcher: I would not choose at all =)
I think it's time to upgrade to modern CPU, yes, definitely, In some games you see boost of performance on this CPU, but more and more games in our time need better CPU
Its depend on game. You can see in this video, or next 2 videos on my Channel. When GPU load less then 95% - its CPU bottleneck. And, of course, in stock 930 will get worst result. For Example all openworld games love better CPU, and Battleroyalse games too. for some boost im recomend update to x5660 or higher processor, but alsow think about newer platform, for example x99.
@@ing156 Thanks a lot for the answers. I think I would wait for the gen13th processor in pair with the RTX4000 series and live again with this platform for years. Hopefully start of the next year )). For the next GPU, they promise a lot.
@@ing156 I don’t know what else it could be. All X58 lack UEFI capability. I did find a reference online about Xeon having UEFI microcode. I just ordered one so I’ll let you know.

Отличное видео, у меня схожая конфигурация только процессор xeon w3690 и память 2133 - cyberpunk на ультрах 50 фпс выдает в full hd

My fault. Befor x5660 processor in this motherboard was i7-950 with 8 threads. So afteburner setup for 8 threads
