Can you please connect with Brett Conti ...just go for a run together, I'd just like to see my two favourite youtubers who happen to be in New York do a video together... who knows where it might lead... who knows maybe I'm cupid... I am joking of course... or am I? no I am... but would be so cool if you two connected!!

I’m a runner. I have countless half marathons and 3 full marathons under my belt. I have learned that there are runners of all shapes, sizes and ages. I’ve learned to listen to my body, and to persevere when things get difficult. Mainly I’ve learned that comparison is not useful. I may be slower or have different technique… but I’m still out here having fun. I’ve also learned that stopping to encourage a fellow runner who might be having a difficult day is the best thing! I’ve been the helper and the helpee….. good luck in your half!

i love how realistic you are about the pressures of marriage and having children compared to barely being appreciated or encouraged for the things we actually accomplish, the things that we love and strive for! i also believe we as people should praise each other for meeting personal goals, not applying pressure for other people's life goals or expectations! you're one cool person chelsea :)

Chelsea, my biggest takeaway from completing a 50-mile run is the gratitude I feel for the ability to run, knowing that not everyone in the world has this privilege. It's a humbling reminder of the gift of movement and the freedom it brings.
Moreover, this experience has shown me the incredible potential we as humans possess. We often underestimate our capabilities, but through perseverance and determination, we can achieve far more than we ever thought possible. Just like Rome wasn't built in a day, our running fitness doesn't skyrocket overnight. It's a gradual process that requires consistency and patience.
Yes, there will be tough days and even rough patches that stretch into weeks, but it's all part of the journey. The key is to keep pushing forward, to keep grinding even when the going gets tough. And along the way, it's essential to nourish our bodies with wholesome foods, prioritize recovery days, and prioritize quality sleep. And when our bodies signal the need for rest, it's okay to listen and take a few days off. Trust in the process, and everything will fall into place.
I love your channel. Keep up the great work your content is awesome!!!!

Biggest lesson was that realizing your “why” is the best thing ever during the entire training and running process. It helps a lot when you hit that wall..be it physical, mental or emotional…you can always tap back into your “why” and it will push you through.

I agree! I don't want to have kids, but I have other fantastic things in my life that the people around me just don't.... care about lol. And even when people have kids and get married, they also have things going on in their lives that are worthy of celebrating too aside from those two things. As for marriage, I'm not against getting married, but with how weddings get these days, and what society seems to expect from weddings, if I ever get married I'm eloping and celebrating after lmao. Or having a tiny wedding... I recently went to one where there was literally 14 people there, including the bride and groom! I'm all for celebrating love however you want, and I'm not one that's usually like "think of your family and guests and what they'd want!!!!" but thinking about your guests comfort at least isn't a big ask in my opinion lol

    • @wmca3smith983

lol 5 separate wedding events all for people to get divorced several years down the road. I feel like the more events attached to a wedding the better chance that they will be divorced because they are literally putting so much time and energy on details that don’t matter in the long run rather than focusing on this huge commitment they are about to agree to and the person they are agreeing to do it with.

Typically I would allow myself to feel depressed after watching something that reminds me “you can’t do that, you want to so bad, but you can’t”. But for some reason, this time, I’m thinking- go. Go get another assessment. Go see. See what can be done, if anything. -Do you find yourself saying about other people, who have full function, “they have no idea how lucky they are!”? … I need to reset my feelings of envy because it gets me nowhere, and full perspective is that there are even less fortunate people than me who could look at me and say, she has no idea how lucky SHE is! Here is an easy way to create different juice flavors. Each juice has basically 4 ingredients and by combining them in various ways, you can create your own recipes.
    1. Base - something full of water - cucumber, celery etc
    2. Main - the star of the juice - Kale, Spinach etc

Great job Chelsea!!! Seems you’ve got a good routine going! And honestly strength training is so underrated. I used to think just going to the gym and hopping on the treadmill was all I needed but I NEED to also be growing my muscles to feel better!
Also the one puny lint roll paper on your baseball hat was sooo funny 😂

I finished a 10k race today at my best pace and one of the lessons which coincidentally was on this woman's shirt that I followed for a good part of the race is: RUNNING IS A MENTAL GAME. That really helped me to try to get in the right mindset and tell myself my body can do this!

Love all the content you put out: I am a runner and played soccer most of my life. My favorite sunscreen is KINeSYS Performance Sunscreen (fragrance free clear spray). It doesn’t run and burn into your eyes from sweating which is a problem for me due to not wearing a hat.
I also recommend trying UCan gels and bars. Awesome product.
Chuck those shorts, no one wants to wear things what cause issues during and after a run.
Continue to listen to your body and not always the plan …
    You go girl 🎉

You help remind me i don’t have to be perfect, I just need to show up and try the best I can…. Cause shit, at least we showed up 😂😅

I think the biggest lesson running thought me (so far) is that you can't "just push through" a run, it has to feel good/fun/doable to your mind/body(my longest runs are like 6 miles so if I ever reach 10 miles or so, I might find out I'm wrong.. but I doubt it). Good luck, have fun!

The greatest lesson I’ve learned is that all things work together. When one part of the body doesn’t function properly the rest of the body desires to compensate. Sometimes running through the pain is good. This is a lesson of perseverance. Then other times running through the pain causes the body to fail in other ways. This is a lesson in humility, that in order to get better one must admit that this needs a different level of attention. All things are connected. It is also a testament to a passage of scripture found in the Bible that I tend to forget. This passage talks about the church, and how as the church we are one body, with different members. When one is failing the rest should step in to help that member.

Strength training is so great. I’ve found that even with cramps, if I exercise against it, I feel so much better after! And strength training on day 2-6 after a period you’re so strong it feels amazing. (With RDLs just try to keep the weights closer to your legs and your back will also fix yourself)

Hi Chelsea! A couple of tips and my ‘juicing wisdom 😂’ I would like to pass on is that if you cut the peel off the lemon it will take down some bitterness (if you have any) and if you put a small soft (not paper) compost bag in the container that holds the veggie waste it is a very quick and easy cleanup process to just remove the bag and dispose of it in your compost bin. And hey - who doesn’t like to save time cleaning 👍

THIS hit home w the reference to celebrating racing as much as others do w marriage and family. The Biggest Lesson Running (and Triathlon) taught me is that YOU CAN DO ANYTHING IF YOU WANT IT MORE THAN ANYTHING! Always remember that. You are so strong. The mental challenges sometimes way harder than the physical challenges. Overcoming injuries and coming back again and again. THAT takes dedication and a pure LOVE for running. And it's been The Number 1 best most valuable and rewarding gifT IVE EVER GIVEN MYSELF. I don't have kids. Never wanted them. BUT I have 17 Finishers Medals. Those ARE my babies. It takes just as long and is just as challenging to train for a race as it is to be pregnant or plan a wedding. Racing is a HUGE accomplishment that takes motivation, dedication, discipline, some deprivation...all of that. BUT THEN ITS SO WORTH IT. Training and racing and making those memories and achieving those goals are JUST AS AWESOME as having a wedding or kids or whatever. My Finishers Medals remind me every day of what I HAVE done. They are some of the BEST memories and experiences Ive ever had. I hope for more of them. CELEBRATE your races! CELEBRATE them!

@@ChelseaCallahanYay! Thank you for replying. Not gonna lie, but I will say this as much as I love your videos and watching your life and running & racing journeys in NYC… just for a second today my thoughts went back to the fact that I was exactly in your place at your age. I had already done 4 marathons. Was training for NYC #5. I was 32. It was the Millenial year. I MISS those days. I miss being 30-ish, living and training in NYC. But you know WHAT…? WE can accomplish whatever we WANT to. Youve done it. Ive done it. I cant go back to those days. But I CAN AND WILL run NYC 26.2 again. And maybe move back home to NYC again too. Im so psyched my comment gave you support and any motivation. Im having a hard time getting back on track. Its hard to motivate Upstate NY w/o the NYC buzz & energy. But YOU motivated ME! So Thank you! UNITED WE RUN!🗽🏅😻

Woo hoo, look at you go! I am not a runner, but I'm just impressed watching other people do it. It sounds like you have to do a lot of shorter races to be in a longer race in NYC. It definitely takes dedication. Good for you for sticking with it. Oh, and I meant to tell you in your last video that spices that are a few years old are not a big deal-- that's like everyone's spice cabinet. They are still usable, just might not be as potent.

Your comments on celebrating the wins is so spot on! Getting married and having kids are things the majority of people do. How many run a marathon? I don't plan on getting married or having kids and I never got a degree, so basically any of the wins to celebrate in life aren't applicable to me. At least from a societal norms perspective.
