Well the honest truth It took me a good year of pen only. Aaand aaa lot of ugly drawings. If you are sturdy and can focus on that u will make it one day. Just believe in you 🙌🫡 also having a good drawing/art routine which is made for longevity helps a lot to keep u on track.
A good part of the whole message of this video is "It's not about the destination, it's about the journey". Paper spent drawing, in itself, is not wasted paper.
I wouldn't recommend using shitty paper to draw. even for warm-ups. I mean don't use super expensive stuff for throw away doodles but also get decent enough materials. you don't want to use materials that make you miserable during the drawing process. if you want to use ink, use paper that that doesn't bleed or switch to a dry medium like pencils or a ball-point pen. make it enjoyable for you to draw. especially if you don't know yet if it's the materials or the skill that makes an image less-stellar, I would go for decent materials to give yourself a fighting-chance and make trouble-shooting easier.
That’s a video I needed to see and that I’ll watch again when the struggling times come 😂, thanks a lot Janos

Awesome video as always Janos! I was wondering how you got to the point of being comfortable with going pen first/how you practiced for that?
