The beauty of Mexico is that it doesn’t worry about the details that would drive foreigners crazy. Don’t love there if u need your life to be duplicated like back home. Embrace Mexico if you plan to buy there , you can pay to build a rail for craps sake !. Some people make me laugh the house price is half of USA
Love the updated designs. Couldn’t get these things in the U.S. w/o paying a small fortune…..aaah, the reason we’re even on this channel…the possibilities. Love the balcony, too! Great one!
Actually, I'm married to a Merida man for over 40 years. We live in Dallas but his whole wonderful extended family live in Merida. I have visitied many, many times....even spent a month in Merida before the pandemic. I'm old and there is NO WAY I'm climbing those stairs with no railing ! Clearly you have no idea what you're talking about.....
U.S.citizens cannot own a house within 31 miles of a coast or 62 miles from a border, you can get a 50 yr 'land trust' and pay a yearly fee on top of the rest of your expenses
180k is amazing price. Sure add handrails and a few other things but an area where you can walk to everything. This is a 500 k to 600 k house in the USA or more demanding on where.
is there an hoa, and monthly cost? Population of conkal? Can you take a public bus to any malls and so forth? (is a car required or not) Could you get by in english, at least for awhile?
Yes there are HOA fees but they are no where near what they are in the US, to go to the big malls in town you can take an Uber for a little over 6 or 7 dollars, you need a car in Conkal but is nice to have one. And yes if you only speak English you will be ok, google translate does wonders and people are really nice and will try to help you
All the homes are similar..and water is always an issue ..dont expect to take long showers with high intensity of water.. no sirr.. city works is limited on service
Powder room is toilet and sink, washroom is toilet, sink & shower and Bathroom is toilet, sink and Bathtub. FYI bedrooms should have a window and built in closet. IMO I would ask for builtin wall shelving at the entrance - for cellphones, keys ext.
you'll have to bring your own monies/financing. I don't know what the maintenance fees (HOA) are, but i'm sure there will be one (probably no more than $50-$75 USD per month)
I don’t like that the price is equivalent to living in America. It prices out the common people, as Is done in most countries designed by Europeans. The normal prices in Thailand, Philippines and Mexico are much lower than this. May as well stay in America.
The common people? I lived in a house like this in Mexico, and the "common people" lived in our neighborhood. You were racist without even noticing. Mexico has a middle-class community, lol. Mind you, they don't have property tax like in the U.S. so that's 400 to 600 less on the mortgage.
The stairs are definitely a "Health Hazzard" 🤕💀⚰️ no matter what your age is. When I seen 😱 those stairs my first thoughts 🤔 were, "The Pain 😖, The Pain 😣, Oh The Horrible Pain 😩" that I would feel 😫 if I fell off those stairs.
Very likely 90% of the neighborhood will be occupied by Mexicans. Not enough Americans here to take up all the space. Majority of Americans retiring here couldn't afford it either.
That is a very expensie house cause its not in the City área to wht i heard before to worth it must be in the City and big stores around and school ,curch ,.
It is getting more expensive, like everywhere else across the world. The charm will remain (cause it'll still be cheaper than most other parts of the world)
I get it what you say , but in Argentina you buy the same for $49k USD including a pool , some parts of Italy the same even for $35k USD , Uruguay , etc , anyway always great videos
Mmmmm at the beginning of the video at the front of the house the guy building a wall he is doing it without foundation, and the guy with the camera saying they built the houses really quick this makes me think they were built without foundation either.
Nope. You can purchase. There are certain guidelines to follow when buying near a border or coast; but you can purchase all over Mexico as a foreigner.
Sounds great until you may need medical attention or prescription. Also what will you do when the extortionist, crooked police and Jack boys show up? They coming for sure
Why did a bunch of European immigrants leave Europe if Europe is so nice? because they were the lower classes with limited incomes and a bad situation. Same as the immigrants fleeing Mexico and Central America. If they were middle class people with big bucks and a great house and car etc. they would stay put. Americans are fleeing big expensive cities and low social security retriments which means living in deep poverty in their home states in the USA. Most migrations are driven by either economic insecurity or crime problems and or government instabilities and lack of stable and decent paying jobs. For everyone in the world.
Because these houses are built to appeal to foreigners. The average Mexican family in Merida can't afford these. Foreigners come and think because it's cheaper than their home country that they are getting such a bargain, but these houses can be sold for at least $100k less and the profit will still be huge for them. Plus, Conkal is far out and soul-less. Three years ago, this same build was less than half of this asking price.
@@googleme7754Not true. There will be 22 houses in that community. When they’re all sold, there may be 1 foreigner family living there, with the other 21 being Mexican families. How do I know this?? I lived in the subdivision behind it, where the houses are even more expensive. 400+ homes in that community and only 3 families from other foreign countries. Over 99% of the families there were Mexican. I love the narrative you all love to paint. It’s not foreigners from other countries buying these. It’s Mexicans. Not enough foreigners buying in these developments for them to even cater to their needs. It’s all fake news unfortunately

Nice home, only drawback for me is there is no railing on the stairs.
Yeah... I don't know why they do that here. I can't ever seem to get a real answer from any one.
@MoveAbroadandThrive You can always add your own I guess but it is weird 😆
@@Sogal60 Absolutely. You can definitely add one, and many foreigners tend to do that.

Now I see why the architecture is the way it is in California and Mexico. .
Nice place…especially the stairs!
Those hi-gloss stairs without a raining and the unusual ceiling jutting out and blocking visibility at 9:09 are concerning.
Whew ... great eye!
Rainy season is also slip and fall on your ass season.
People complaining about “no railing” on the stairs haven’t spent time in Mexico. 😆😆

How bad can a hurricane hit this area??? Is it near the ocean?
Those houses can survive an huricane they are made of bricks

No stair railing with polished stone steps...............interesting, mini pool.
There’s a reason stairs like that are against code in quite a few countries
Where is the air conditioning ? Is it room by room or whole house ?
Ya, it's a mini split. I have only seen them in Mexico, but they blow a conventional AC out the water
You can literally slide into the couch from the second floor. 🤔

What happens if not enough of them get sold so there’s no money to continue building or care for the property?
