I believe the leg mod is worthwhile. There's quite a bit of cushion between the 5.9 and 5.6 even though I was skeptical. Found there's a lot of DDs I can spot for my team and see them get frustrated often, charging to close and I normally have gifts for them. Coincidentally, I flew for the AF as well. Stay safe and "put the thing on the thing".

I love the gearing, the torps reach out and touch people and other DDs sleep on those guns. UU mod detect same as the shima and still 3.3sec reload.

I got legmod on mine, makes it just a tat better, its easier to turn out when you run into a dd without getting spotted, also use IHFE, from 5% to 2,5% is neglisable compared to the extra damage on bb and heavy cruisers.

First thing to learn - aim! I have like 20-30% hit rate on my DDs with Guns! And Ripper???? 263 hits of 478 fired shells! 55% hit rate!!! OMG. Awsome.

Gearing is still good and is amazing in divisions but its very dangerous for her in today’s game because so many other DDs will absolutely wreck a Gearing with little to no issue in a straight up gunfight
Yeah but "straight up gunfight" is really not much happening in randoms. Its mostly about your support ships, cvs, radars, subs...

@@Zeka_GGWP Like what? You overspot most of them. With LM all of them. You play mind games with the enemy, no need for brutal DPM just use your head more.
@@vitezslavlorenc3479 Except theres always going to be times when you HAVE to pick the fights to either protect your team or fight for a cap. Sometimes theres going to be a radar ship thats behind an island you didnt know about or a submarine that spots you out of nowhere despite all your careful planning. Sometimes a CV may decide to hover you or the french DD on the enemy team just decides to run you down and kill himself just to kill you. Been there, done that. Yes, with very careful planning and movements you can conceivably avoid any gunfight you cant win, and sometimes you are successful at that. But theres always a factor of risk due to the many elements you cant always predict or be ready for and taking said risks can very often result in death
@@Zeka_GGWP French DDs like kleber, marceau can be spotted from the moon. And it doesnt have smoke so when he fires you smoke up and he is spotted right next to your teammates and you. Marceau is prime example how DPM didnt help you if your spot is dogshit. It can kill you if he is smart (but most players are not) and using some rocks as cover to get closer unspotted, but on open sea with your team close no chance. I would rather fear Smaland, Lushun, Daring/vampire2. But those are best DDs in the game so every dd is scared of them not just Gearing.

Its radio location a four pointer commander dd skill if thats wht u r asking about
@@MartialEmperor6344 I think the mod ripper is referring to is one you install. Radio location serves as a pointer to the nearest threat and Ripper's mod displays radar range of enemy radar cruisers. I don't know much about the mods other than you can install them and they add more information to your display, different gun effects, etc.
it's on one of the mods for UI to display all the stats for min map, and then you can select what displays on the minimap
