    Great video Howard, excellent car. My E91 320D Sport Plus Touring has had a remap to around 210bhp and 440nm. Fuel economy is improved (by about 4mpg at 70mph), throttle response is massively improved, no more turbo lag and, obviously, performance. The car recently had it's MOT and I asked about emissions and the tester said it was well within parameters so......... BMW could easily have given the 20D more power and still complied with all the nanny state BS.

      No good for company car users doing high mileage though as once the batteries are depleted, you are lugging around a load of extra weight which makes the petrol engine consumption rather low. There must be a sweet spot on the mileage, but a 400 mile return journey (something that I regularly do) I would be transporting dead batteries around most of the time.

    Tut! Tut!! How fast were you going @9:31 into this video? Just under 80mph. Unless the gauges were off by a few percent?
    Regardless. A great video Mr. Richie with the witt and poise we've all become accustomed too. The new 3 series is a lovely looking motor, though I don't think I'd ever get one in orange.

    • @nikolasavic450
      @nikolasavic450 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@leasingdotcom Just an update. I took the A5, It seamed much more luxurious and special, and it came with the Bang and Olufsen so sound would not be a problem. I do agree the BMW has much modern Infotainment, the problem is that it does not fell as special somehow as A5, there is something in that low roof and that tactile experience when you touch things. Thank you for the comment, it really helped.

    Great video. I have the new 320d Touring and regarding the lane departure steering intervention, it has scared the shit out of me multiple times so I've switched it off! On the motorway, I indicate right to overtake but don't normally indicate to move back to the left unless I'm pulling in front of someone relatively closely. If you don't indicate it pulls you back into the lane. I keep wondering what would happen if I forgot to indicate while overtaking and it pulls me back in behind the car I'm about to overtake... could be dangerous! Incredible car though!

    • @Kiwittgmail
      @Kiwittgmail 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      This is why I hate the new cars. They have removed more and more connections from the driver to the car and therefore the road feel. e.g. hydraulic steering, braking and acceleration.
      When your feel for the road is separated by electronics, it no longer becomes a drivers car, but a car that drives you.
      It is the reason I will be keeping my E90 330i M-Sport forever, and will just simply continue to keep it well maintained until parts are no longer available for it.

    • @TheUkdan02
      @TheUkdan02 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Kiwittgmail I agree and that's a fine car you have! You can switch most of the interventions off but you never get the same feeling with all of the electronically controlled steering, braking throttle etc. If I ever have the space, I will definitely be getting a good old classic beemer with manual everything 😎. However, for someone who drives circa 30k miles a year and spend a lot of time in rush hour traffic, the G21 is a great car. A lot of the tech really makes for a different driving experience, keeps me alert, entertained and on time! And despite the above it is still a brilliant car to drive, plus I can get loads of family related crap in the back!

      @@patrickbarks997 most diesel cars post 2016 are not eu6 compliant and would need to pay £12.50 ulez charge to enter ultra low emission zone, making them obsolete. Some other cities like Bristol are more draconian and derv powered cars are banned totally in daytime hours. Oxford and Birmingham too v soon. Further to that all combustion engines (petrol and derv) cars will be totally banned by 2035.
