If you’re round a chicks house and she’s got a drake album in her collection, she’s a keeper

His songs are often short, little poetic treasure boxes. Check out also, From The Morning, Pink Moon, Northern Sky, One of These Things First, and Hazey Jane ll. So many more...
Sadly Nick died young and in obscurity. He’s the greatest posthumously famous musician in history. His first hit was I believe 24 years after his passing. Unreal!

I first heard Nick Drake in the early '90s. I was in my early 20s, and it was the perfect time for me to be introduced to his music. As soon as I could, I bought a box set of his complete musical works, "Fruit Tree." Nick had such a purity of musical and lyrical vision. His far-too-young death was such a terrible loss. Now, in my late 40s, his music can still reach me and move me deeply.

Maybe listen to one of the last track he recorded called Black Eyed Dog, which is not on any of the three albums, and it wasn’t quite finished, but it’s very chilling although wonderful at the same time. It came on a compilation album called Time of No Reply.

He sure was good enough for Elton John to record a cover album early In his career

Nick Drake's Riverman always Otherworldly/Elysian fields quality to me.
A green dream so short that it almost never happened at all.

Not his best tracks for 1st listen, time of no reply, one of these things 1st, northern sky, and time has told me great songs. Like your style 😎

Day is done is not a good song to start with

I don't think there is an ideal song to start with, since reactions differ. His songs were all so varied - but I think "Day is Done" is representative of his soul and his style ;-)
