- Welcome to ARK: The Survival Stories! This is the second video, following Helena Walker! The Survival Stories follow the direct explorer notes of each of the survivors from ARK, as I seek to accurately show exactly what happened. The video here goes over all of Li Mei-Yin's notes on The Island, from 1-31.
If you have any criticisms, let me know! I need to know what mistakes I made so that I can improve in the future. Tell me what you think about this, because I'm super excited for creating more, and cannot wait to bring all the other characters to life, not just on The Island, but on Scorched Earth, Aberration. That's all :)

@@Asertix357 I mean it makes sense back then the Overseers most likely communicate with each other so the islands overseer probably communicated with all other overseers including the ones in charge of Gen sim probably why there's no X gigas and the Colony ship that's gen 2 and they all banned the Giga being able to enter I like to think that every creature banned from boss arenas were banned because a Survivor that came before us and even before Helena pulled off some amazing stuff and got the dino Banned because to OP

I could relate to Mei bcs my favourite dino was my Raptor, Viola and the alpha tribe of the server killed her >:(

One time I cried because of my lvl 200+ Wolf cause I thought he was the strongest wolf ever lol
I never paid attention at the notes in the games but now that I saw a beautiful history represented like that, I can't stay stoic. This is amazing, thank you for this beauty.

@@herenaakuma85 Originally I planned to do Rockwell immediately after Helena, but I'm doing it this way in an effort to balance out the work. People don't often think about how much work goes into each note, but it is a pressing issue for us. Helena's video was much easier to film than Mei-Yin's, because we had far less scenes that required tons of Body Actors on screen. Rockwell's will be similar to Helena, being slightly harder because it shows more of Nerva's army, but less difficult than Mei-Yin's because it has far less fighting scenes. I wanted to save Nerva for last since his video will undoubtedly be the most difficult to film. Nearly all of his notes have tons of people in them, and he gets an increasingly larger and larger group over time, which is going to make it all the more difficult. I hope you can understand my reasoning.
@@NeddyTheNoodle Ah, the production issues. In this situation your choice of order is more than understandable. I wish I could help as a Body Actor but I dont even play on multiplayer servers so I would have no idea how to operate not mentioning recreating scripted scenarios :-( Your videos are high quality and seem to be enjoied by growing number of people so hopefully you'll find youreself an army you need for this project. Good luck ;)

How do you even select *these* people out of everyone else to voice your characters any idea who's going to play Rockwell or what they need to have skill wise in order to *be* Rockwell, I'm only concerned because I'm really looking forward to seeing his survival story because I feel that Rockwell is about as important as Helena is, he's basically what happens when you drop a very resourceful scientist into the age of the dinosaurs, a lesser man would die on the island (at least more than once) but not Rockwell.😉

This is awesome. ARK story can be hard to get ahold of with just reading the notes. Your videos bring the story characters to life and easier accesible for a bigger crowd. And the production quality is really good!

As someone that's played through the entirety of ark and collected all the explorer notes. This is by far the best representation of each character. Freaking amazing job keep it up!!!!
I would just like to say I stumbled across your Survival Story collection via the TH-cam Spiral and watched them all. This being my favorite so I thought I should comment here..... Mighty fine Job Ned, your sense of storytelling is spot on, you even had me feeling emotion as the story came to its climax. After 6000+ hours in Ark who thought a bunch of Notes would be so entertaining! Bravo. New Sub & like from me..

It is funny as I’m currently working on getting the Perfect Explorer trophy and as i did, i was telling myself it would be great to read all of the explorer notes so i can better understand the story of Ark. I’m sure that a very light percentage of people have ever read those. To find out that someone actually made short movies about these notes was an astonishing surprise to me and I’m so glad you did! Thank you so much for these magnificently done videos, i couldn’t have asked for more! And this Mei-Yin, wow what a beast! I particularly love her story! Please go all the way through with all these characters and I’m looking forward for the other map's explorer note videos!! Great job !!

17:24 Funny enough, ARK Devs actually removed that feature, so if you are riding a giga and it takes fall damage, it won't go crazy anymore.

Ever since I watched Mei-Yin Story it has made me realize how beautiful her story is told and shown in her notes and it makes it more beautiful how you made her story alive.
I loved this, i cant read mei-yin's notes which really bummed me out but now i can actually understand whats happening, Thank you!
These “films”... I love them! When I was bored or I was waiting for something, I always read these notes... I was confused because there were more humans on the island but there were no other evidence just the notes. They were interesting to read but more interesting to imagine. And with these “films” it was a bit more clear that they ascended. They went home.
Firstly, this was very well choreographed for the most part. Although some parts looked awkward, such as when Mei was holding a spear and pivoting on the spot as the 3 survivors circled her.
The voice acting was very well done, kudos to the VA.
This was a great visual aid to the already interesting bits of story from the game. I hope to see more!
Since the trailer dropped that might make voicing a certain posh scientist a little harder, since now we know he's voiced by David Tennant XD Looking forward to more of these! I absolutely love the story of ark and these show it off so well.
I will make damn sure they match!

Even though David Tennant is great, I would still be happy with someone with a good voice who sounds like he could fit the way Rockwell is portrayed in the notes.

Absolutely, though it is quite the undertaking! Getting ready for Rockwell's Island Survival Story next, which we're going to do our best to have voiced in a very similar way to David Tennant's Rockwell in Genesis 2!
1:36 Replay that clip, but the dilo is as big as a giga and still keeps its spitting ability and it has the giga hitbox and move as slow as a rex.
It would make more sense to the dossier of a “beast with ears like fangs that burns everything with its spit”
I have never taken my time to read these notes, knowing the story is fascinating.
The story told here combined with the video and music made the emotion come up in myself. Wondering what will happen, on the scorched lands. Thank you for making this.

These are wonderful! I've been looking for a lore video for ark almost since I started playing it, and the voice acting and videos had me captivated all the way through! I can't wait for the others and hope you have plans to do this for all the maps :D
It's hard to make ark gameplay emotional but you're camera angles combined with the music and voice acting created that perfect mood. Amazing Job!!

I'm a little late to the game apparently. Long time fan of Ark, I've enjoyed going into the lore of this since the pre-release. I'm loving this series following the stories of the previous survivors that left the dossiers. I'm also grateful for the translation efforts that have gone into this. This is amazing I LOVE this work!
