You know, one thing that has me thinking is how different the lore is if you take Single Player into account, imagine at some point the Arks stop producing humans at all to the point that humans are extinct now and somehow Helena found a way to make only one Human (the Survivor) spawn with the ability to come back from the dead.
Yes! I love this! Especially since I play the game single player anyway! HEADCANON ACCEPTED!
this theory breaks apart when you take the final cinematic into account, because it shows how the arks are full of life... but i love this, i love the lore of this game

@@The.Boyo. i mean on extintion, the arks are full of life to reseed the planet, so the theory of singleplayer breaks apart
one thing i could think to make it possible its that helena, knowing how humans are, deactivated the human clonation in the island ark and every ark the survivor goes until he goes to the next, only to make it easy to the survivor
I loved it when The Survivor said “it’s surviving time!” and proceeded to die and respawn

The note where The One who waits explain why we are called "The one who tries again" is easily my favourite note of them all. I find it epic, hopefull and inspiring, seeing it for the first time actually made it even more satisfatory to beat the ever living shit out of the king titan, such a great piece of storytelling

The single player version of the survivor is acc a menace fr being able to defeat the overseer and guardians by themselves
I just want to say that you are probably the most underrated ark TH-camr in the world. Your videos are so beautiful and well done. I love the story of ark and no one explains the story and makes it as interesting/epic as you do. Thanks a lot

The very end of the Extinction Ascension cutscene always confused me. I never put together that it was Rockwell roaring, and that the damaged Ark shown was Aberration. I had such an "OH, DUH!" moment. Thanks for continuing to put out quality content that details the fantastic lore of Ark!
Everytime I watch you ARK lore/story videos, I wish they would offer you a voice actor role in the animated series.
Just a small one, but one to appreciate all the work you did to explaining us the world of ARK, for letting us experience and feel the story behind it.
I had that feeling of when you play ark for the first time watching this, the feel of mystery, the fear of the creatures. A great game that has its ups and downs
Man something about this video gives me the motivation to finally beat the island. Something about learning the significance of the player character and the role they play in the story of Ark just does it for me.

How did you do? I recently finished Scorched Earth. I finished my preparations and went to Aberration. I’ve found a safe place and set up my base camp.
I don’t know what comes next. I paused the video at this point because I was to discover it all on my own. I want to discover how I must find Rockwell and defeat him myself.
It’s curiousity and hope that drives me. If I already knew I would not be so driven to continue. To find my answers, to destroy Rockwell and find a way to save Earth. I don’t know how or why. I don’t even know what befell the earth. But I will. I will find my answer.
I'm glad someone made a video about this. The ascension scenes have always been a favourite for me but the Helena cut scenes are so well done and really add so much to the game for the player. They deserve to be celebrated like this. Looking forward to the next one. Cheers 🍻

Ned, I just want to thank you for, probably the first time since you began this dedicated oddesy of ARK: SURVIVAL EVOLVED. I've been here playing the game since... gods, I think 2018? 2019?? I didn't care much for the lore, only that i could tame dravons and ride dinosaurs lol. Your dedication and love for this game encouraged me to stick withthe game through good and bad,and when you started these videos, you fanned my love for this fandom even more. I cried, laughed, raged, and cheered eith every win, loss, and gain with friends come and gone.
In a way, and don't take this weirdly, you became a friend I could watch and follow by example.
Its been a long time coming for me to say this, but thank you for bringing ARK to life for me even more than it could ever become.
You are a Hero, an inspiration, and an absolutely AMAZING survivor.
You may bring this story to an end someday, as all great stories must close,and you'll start another chapter... but I can hardly wait for what chapter you'll begin for us fellow players and watchers.

Ark isn't without its flaws. Lord knows everyone who plays it can list them off. But one thing you have to applaud is their storytelling. I still get chills when you beat Extinction and watch the cutscene.

Neddy.... thank you....thank you thank you! I never get on TH-cam and comment, mostly because I use my TV to watch TH-cam and there's no comment option on there. Alas for you I am on my phone to tell you that we are blessed by you and your team bringing the lore and story of our much beloved game of 8 years now! This one is my favorite! It touched my heart as it touched on all the struggles to survive, explore, and ascend over the years! Many times we were much like the characters confused but determined!
Here's to all the survivors who never gave up! Let's hope Arks future is brighter than ever before. Thank you Neddy for giving us this as the end of Ark Survival Evolved is upon us.
A little detail i just noticed when the one who waits “becomes” helna (forgot how to spell it) again the echo from TOWW and we just here helna’s voice never noticed that and its a neat little detail

I love this video in particular! The mix between your usual narrative style and the machinima-style depictions of the actions by the "survivor" fits it just right for an epic tale. I think how ARK gamifies the player in that sense is what has driven so much of my love for this game, as many of my best memories involved dying in the most horrific ways and having to learn from it to get my kit back lol

First time I bumped into this youtuber and the presentation and storytelling made me cry and given me goosebumps. I really wish I could say how much I appreciate this epic video other then a like and a sub. Hats off to you, you not only did good, you did IT.
Edit: been an ark player for 6 years and this game gave me a great story but never fully understood it till now. The game is sentimental since I made meaningful friends and allies.

Abberation ascension is easily the best
Extinction is better it’s the only animation that doesn’t just have a guy floating in space in a giant futuristic Mario tube

I just finished the Ark story by playing on all the story maps and beating them, and man, the ark story is genuinely one of the best story in all the games I’ve ever played, it’s so good and a challenge to complete
This made me feel things and realize how vast in lore ark is
Even as a 'god' Helena hasn't realized she never knew Rockwell. He didn't start his dark spiral on Scorched Earth. She just never saw his Mr Hyde side. He was ALREADY a twisted individual as per his own journal entries. Experimenting on his own assistants and unknowing tribes.
So happy you're still releasing content mate, and excellent as always. Thanks for bringing some genuine joy to an ever increasingly miserable month.

Neddy, you keep making my love of Ark grow stronger by the lore episode! I never even knew that we had a name besides survivor or Bob. "The One Who Tries Again." It sounds so inspiring! I am currently trying to finish the Aberration map so I'm close to getting to Extinction and facing off the Titans and this makes me even more determined than ever before! I wish you luck on your Genesis videos and any other projects you and your amazing team is working on!

When i was 6 years old in 76, i cried to my first movie ending... it was Silent Running. After 2000+ hours in the Ark...why am I just now realizing why I love this game so much? I even named my first Ankies Huey, Dewey and Louie... LAMS
this was really good. sad what is happening with ARK now but we should remember the joys it brought to the point.

Ive been one who tries again for the past 2 years. Live, laughed, lost, but through it all ive made it back to earth all alone. The new cutscenes when ascending from aberration to extinction has pushed me forwards to finish this story.
Aberration was my favourite because the theme song was soooooo good.

@@NeddyTheNoodle but she says Aberration was destroyed...when its not. Its just the writers trying to set up the shock twist of Extinction's ending and Genesis Part 1.
@@Myne1001 I think the information Peter Fries wants to give us in that cutscene is not that Aberration was destroyed, as that wouldn't make sense because it appears later in the story. The information he wants to give us is that Helena wasn't lying to us when she said in The One Who Waits note 27 that we put an end to Rockwell, because she actually thought Aberration had been destroyed. That's why she left the superluminal link open.
This is the reason i like this channel. I hope to see more like this.
This was an eye-opener
Argentavis are easy tames,just find 4+ of them and leave the strongest one alive and knock it out and then harvest prime meat from its fallen comrades and then few moments later you'd have a OP mount with healing ability and weight reduction and has allot of stamina(my Argie can fly half way across the entire island without stopping)

I’ve played the game before, years ago, and didn’t really get it. I just like built a house and tamed a few Dinos then was like “ok now what?” Just now seeing your videos, and I had NO IDEA about all this lore. Now I want to go back and play again with all this info in mind.
I got a better name than” The One Who Tries Again.” How about, The Tenacious? Not quite short and sweet, but I think it’s actually pretty fitting of a title, seeing how we never give up through the story. We are The Tenacious, and we shall never surrender!

i'm playing Ark singleplayer on PS4 to complete the story, after MANY crashes (most of them in Aberration and Extinction) i finally went to Gen 1.. but i didn't like it much, some missions are fun but others are so boring to do and take too long for no reason :( (i imagine Mei and Diana died when they tried to leave the map, but that may be just a gameplay feature idk)

I'm personally of the theory that just like there are two helena's in her and hlna, there are two of the same survivor, like how cloning worked for sandiago and there were multiple of him, there should be a version of you in genesis and of you on earth with helena
