While the neural filters have made editing more convenient, they tend to mask the understanding of editing principles. Sort of like auto spell-checkers and grammar filters without the need to spell or write correctly. Of course, fine tuning the results is a must-do situation as AI is not the total answer-we are!
... and take up so much resource on the computer, put mine into overdrive!! FAN went berserk for about 10 mins... :(
I've learnt photoshop 50% by experimenting by myself and 50% by Unmesh, soon I will buy his course, can't wait to explore the premium package.

I also happen to be an amateur radio enthusiast, and I've often said -- only somewhat jokingly -- that 99% of what radio hams do is saying "I wonder what happens if I do THIS," then doing it. The same is really true of anything where different tools are available to experiment with, Photoshop included.

Idk if im doing something wrong, but when I use colorize it starts to mix the colors, and if I use "focal points" it just desaturates what I select. Is there anything I'm missing?

I have used colorize on some old color images that were so far off I couldn't seem to get the colors correct using curves. Colorize got me back in the ballpark.
I agree, I had one in particular that I just couldn’t get right and colorize looks fantastic. Just a couple of areas that needed adjustment.

Wow. I have never seen a post filter system get things so wrong. I tried it for for the first time with a very happy image with tons of bright colors and it went "bonkers" and literally changed everything in the image to outrageous ridiculous colors. Blew my mind. Never seen a filter go so in the opposite direction. I reset and started doing it manually but I might as well save myself the trouble and money and do it in raw. Need to look at a little more but so far this is a little on the wacko side of AI.

I gave this a try on a few of my images and it didn't work on any of them. It lost colour more than it replaced / enhanced it. Perhaps that could be down to them not being semi-desaturated i=to start off with?

The filters are certainly neat, at least several of them. But the way they're integrated kind of makes it look like they're third party plug-ins, rather than an official part of Photoshop. It's just a bit disconnected and messy.
When Filter Gallery was in use (and still is, for many people), it was in a separate area as well. I think they are separated because all of these use machine learning unlike other filters like a simple gaussian blur.
